Welcome to a day in my LIFE!

So I woke up this morning & felt like something was missing.... I realised that what was missing was BLOGGING! I haven’t done it in a while & I missed just writing down everything that was in my mind. I don’t do it for others to read, it's more just getting the words out of my mind & onto the page. Of course, in the good old days we would keep a diary or journal but now blogging is the new diary. Of course, I will be doing it for my VA business but that is more professional & this is more about my thoughts & processes. 

So who am I? I am a 40ish mum of 3. I live my life for my kids but I am now just about to take my life back by doing my own business. I am becoming myself again. A strong & good enough person! I want to embrace the next stage of my life. My mid-life crisis??? My older kids will be gone in 5-10 years & I want to have something to hold onto. I want to be a good role model, especially for my daughter. I want her to see that women can be mums & successful businesswomen. I want her to see that I can be here for her but also be making a strong income to help support our family. I want my husband to be able to step back from his business a little so he can be more of the father he wants to be. Motherhood is the most difficult role in life & we make ourselves feel so shameful for wanting to have a life too.

When I became a mother, I became the third most important person to myself. I put my child then children first, my husband & then myself. I have done this for almost 13 years now. It’s my turn to be number 1! This is why I am taking the step off the cliff & becoming a businesswoman on my own 2 feet. I am terrified but I know I can do it. I AM GOOD ENOUGH!

SO, those are my thoughts at the moment. I don’t expect anyone to read them but it feels good to type them out. I will be leaving the link on my Insta & FB pages. Maybe someone will read them & think, ‘I need to make the jump too & make myself number 1 too’. Others might read it & think what a load of rubbish. I don’t mind either way. This makes me feel good & that’s all that matters!

Today I cried....

Today I cried, but not for the reason you would think. When a person leaves their home for the first time, you think they will have a sense of longing for what they had. That is not the situation for me at this moment. I’m grateful and hopeful that this experience will help me grow as a person. The ability to go see new things and develop a better sense of adventure are my top priorities. To understand the reason I cried, we have to go back to the recent past. Here we go…

I’ve always been the type to follow my desires without thinking about anyone except myself. In July of 2014 my niece was born, and that arrogant freedom quickly came to an end. I was a full-time uncle during the day and worked in the evening. It was tiring, but the greatest decision I’ve ever made. That little girl and I helped to teach each other the lessons in life that are truly life changing. I got to watch her grow, learn, and develop into the sassy spit fire that I know and love.

A few years later, our little gang got a little bigger. My nephew was born in May of 2016. For anyone that tells you there is no difference between having one kid or two, just know they are full of crap! I had to adapt how we did things. Now we had to prepare lunch for ourselves as well as bottles for the baby. Going to the store became a chore, lots of carrying both kids, and don’t even get me started on showering. Through it all, my nephew fell right into place with this crazy twosome that he was forced to be around. As you can imagine, he developed our sass while remaining such a lover.

Now you may be thinking that I cried because I miss “my kids,” which is only half true. I do miss my kids, but more than that, they are missing this great adventure we are on. Every time we go to a new place, get ice cream, or see beautiful places, I think to myself, “they would love this.” So yes, I miss my kids, but more than that I miss the opportunity to help mold them into the people they will become. I really hope they will get my sense of adventure and learn to live life fully.

Now you know, why I cried today…..
