summary: zen wants to protect his angel from the wolves, but maybe you need protection from him.

you didn’t know that falling in love was this painful. you thought that when your knight in shining armor flirted and called and saved you, he would be your guardian angel. you thought he would protect you, but you guess that you didn’t know what actual love was till him. you reassure yourself that this is fine. everything. is. fine. because if it wasn’t, that meant that what you have isn’t love.

 jumin always called you. he liked checking in, he liked knowing that his friend was safe and well.

 “mc? how are you?” jumin’s deep voice came through your phone. zen had left to go grab a water for both of you in the kitchen when he called.

 “im fine, jumin.” you laugh, “zen and i have been watching a couple musicals.”

 “do you want any food? i know that zen only has that commoner alcohol in his fridge.” you can hear the disapproval and his voice, and you giggle.

 zen walks in as you giggle. zen tenses, “who’s on the phone, baby?”

 you feel the mood shift in the apartment, “jumin, why?” you hear jumin asking about zen, but you don’t respond.

 “you should hang up. we’re spending time together unless, of course, you’d rather talk to mr.ceo.” zen grits out as he sits down at the end of the coach.

 “no, i’m hanging up.” you say to zen, and you carefully tell jumin you have to go. silence fills the apartment as you both sit at opposite ends of the coach.

 “zen””mc” you both talk at the same time.

 “let me talk first.” zen intervenes. your eyes widen at his sudden change of attitude.

 “i’ve told you so many times that men are wolves, mc.” zen gets up and starts pacing in front of you, “i’m the only one that can protect you, keep you safe from harm. everyone else, jumin, seven, yoosung, all of them are going to hurt you because they are wolves and you are an innocent, pure, sweet angel that they would devour.”

 you get up to calm him down, “zen, the rfa are our friends, they would n-“ you heard the sound before the pain blossomed. the slap rang out as you fall to the ground on the impact of his hand on your cheek.

 “WHY DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND. MEN CANNOT BE YOUR FRIEND. THEY WILL HURT YOU AND USE YOU.” zen screams at your fallen body as you lie on his floor, frozen. zen huffs and realizes what hes done.

 “nononoo, angel, no are you. no, what have i done. angel.” he mumbles as he falls to his knees and cradles you. you feel tears stream down your cheeks and realize that he’s crying too.

 “please, just listen to me. please.” he begs as he touches your forehead together.

 “okay.” you mumble.

 of course, it wouldn’t be the last time he’d get aggressive. he didn’t want you to work or have friends or be around anyone without him.

 you grow used to it, after all he loves you. that’s why he hits you when you talk back, but soothes the pain away with kisses when you comply. that’s why he smashed your phone after you had texted seven, but gave you his old one. zen loves you so much. all he wants to do his protect you from pain.

this song can be seen from all of the characters povs but seven’s seems to pop up more. like the first line of the song “i just got your messages”. That’s something all the characters can relate too. But somethings that catches my attention is that near the end it says “open your eyes, see the light. dont fall for any if his party invites” indicating that there is a message in front of them that they cant see until mc’s part plays and so forth and the second sentence can easily be seen as a warning not to listen to unknown, saeran, ray or rika because they call mint eye an everlasting party or paradise. idk this whole song describes the game in such a good manner and makes me feel an ecstatic vibe go through my body.
