Thought I’d take sometime out and write about where my i’m at and what i’m planning on doing with my health journey.  I ended up writing my PCP and requesting a second opinion from a different Rheumatologist.  I’m really glad I did.  I’m going to hold off on getting a nerve conduction study until I see the new Rheumatologist because it won’t diagnose small fiber neuropathy.  Which is more likely what i’ve got although that’s honestly just my stab in the dark.  With it being dysautonomia awareness month I stumbled upon a post where it stated 50% of POTS patients have SFN.  If that’s the case I don’t want to waste my time and money on a test that won’t even show that.  I am very eager to get to the new rheumatologist my plan is to really insist on testing and testing for Sjogrens and EDs particularly.  I don’t know what is wrong with me with the numbness and burning but the burn has certainly started to improve.  Ever since last Saturday my energy has been back up to normal and I’m enjoying my quality of life much better.  I may still start Guanfacine but for right now i’m in an okay place.  I’m truly afraid of the side effects/long term effects of meds.  I’m not a hippy thought but i’d rather do as little meds as possible.  The info sheets these drugs come with is daunting.  I’m hoping I continue on this upward trend.

This reminds me my mother would always say that she doesn’t think that there’s anything wrong with me despite the fact that I notice my own symptoms and doctors would guess that nothing was wrong with me based upon old medical records but here today I’m 18 and I don’t live with my mom anymore and i am starting off new and the doctors that I see notice my problems and my symptoms no longer get ignored  moral of the story it sometimes can take years for people to notice that something is wrong and it can take many more years to find out why so if you are somebody undiagnosed don’t give up no matter what people say because one day you will have the answer

This picture is a pretty accurate depiction of how I’ve been feeling. Even though I’ve had some amazing experiences lately with my favorite dudes, I’ve been feeling too down to post. Since my last Endo surgery a couple months ago, I’ve been in significantly more pain, to the point that it’s been difficult to even get through some days. I was so hoping that this surgery would help, and was devastated when it did the opposite. However, I was referred to a general surgeon who took on my case, was actually interested in my story, and decided to take on my case. After reviewing my surgery reports, he thinks my peritoneal defects might actually be incredibly small inguinal hernias. Apparently, the smallest the hernia, the more pain in caused, the peritoneal walls can get more and more damaged with each surgery (I’m up to 4), AND happens frequently with EDS patients! I have been to every gynecologic specialist in the Southern California, so how this has never been looked into, I have no idea. But a cancellation was made, and I got the spot... so I get this next surgery on Tuesday!! I’m hopeful, but that terrifies me even more. Interesting case -MOVE Sports and Spine

Gentleman presented with severe left #shoulderpain without a trauma. He then developed severe weakness in his shoulder. My working #diagnosis is #parsonageturnersyndrome.

In the first picture, you can see the thickness of the #deltoid measured in letters (haha.). In the 2nd picture look at how much smaller the deltoid is. It's also very bright in comparison. This is very characteristic of denervated muscle under #ultrasound. Next step is for #emg to confirm the diagnosis and give #prognosis.

All full of holes! For the past couple years I've been getting itchy lumps on my back and shoulders. They're really similar to bug bites so I didn't feel too concerned. But when a few turned into about 30 then it got annoying. The dermatologists didn't know what they were so I am damn happy that they did the biopsies for me right then and there. I really wasn't up for going to the hospital today and wasn't thrilled at the idea of having to come back again. So I have 3 pea sized holes in me and a handful of stitches. Let's hope that it's something they can actually treat because I'd like to eventually have all these areas covered in tattoos and I don't think tattooing over itchy welts would be a good idea. #biopsy #punchbiopsy #dermatology #dermatologist #mystery #diagnosis #mysterydiagnosis #skinconditions #skin #lesions

Well, at least the paper gowns at the specialist’s office almost resemble a dress 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve been inside my own head so much the past couple months, which paired with google can be a dangerous thing. Basically, I’m going in for my next surgery on the 24th. After reviewing the pictures from my last surgery, my doctor believes he sees missed Endometriosis and misdiagnosed ‘holes that are nothing to worry about’, that are actually Allen-Masters Windows. Therefore, I’m getting a laparoscopic excision surgery and going from there. However, he does want to start me on Lupron afterwards to give my body time to heal... terrifying, especially since I already Ehlers-Danlos. So, if anyone has any first hand experience with the Lupron side effects, please let me know, so I can make the most informed decision possible.
