Please be a better day...

Yesterday evening was awful. Livi was really rude to her friend’s mother, Livi also had a melt down because, we’re not moving. Rick and I got into a really stupid fight over paper towels and Rick never came to bed last night…

So, I’ll just explain it all piece by piece.

Livi’s friend, Mae, comes over every week day while her parents are at work. I’m babysitting her for the time being until Livi starts school. It’s something fun for Livi and I get to make some money so, why not, right? Well, lately, Livi and Mae have been annoyed with each other but, this arrangement is set in stone and it’s how I’m helping Rick. I’ve been taking care of my wants and needs financially so, he can save money. Yesterday, When Mae’s mom shows up, Livi decides to tell her that she can’t want until she starts school so, she doesn’t have to deal with Mae anymore. I was absolutely shocked. I had to apologize a thousand times (Mae’s mom wasn’t upset. She knows kids say things like that all the time) because, I was so embarrassed of Livi’s behavior… I appreciate her honesty but, it was still kinda rude and hurtful. After Mae and her mom left, we sat down with Livi to talk to her about how it’s good to be honest but, she’s gotta be careful and do her best not to hurt other’s feelings… If she can’t say something nice, don’t say it to that person at all. It’s okay not to like someone or something they do but, it’s not okay to treat them poorly.

After that was all said and done and Livi was happy again, we told Livi that we didn’t have to move anymore and that we get to stay here… We were so excited until she started balling her eyes out. She wants to move and live somewhere she’s never lived before. She loves new things and she’s always curious about new places. It’s understandable but, we can’t just move without absolutely having to and we tried to explain it to her. Eventually, Rick got upset because, he knows he’s doing the right thing for us right now but, it’s still frustrating. He hates when Livi gets upset and he can’t help her understand. So, that just made everything harder for him (after having a seemingly difficult day at work).

After Livi left with her mother, Rick was still pretty upset but, he was trying to cheer up and not let it ruin our weekend together. I made us a good dinner, he was playing Skyrim, and I was relaxing. That was until he accidentally spilled his damn drink all over. He just snapped. Something so little but, it was his breaking point. He yelled at himself, he yelled at me and instead of just letting it go and letting him calm down, I yelled back at him ._. I shouldn’t have but, it was a tense day for me too. I quickly realized it was stupid of me to yell so, I went out for a cigarette to make sure I didn’t say something dumb. He must have been embarrassed too because, he left for an hour. After he got home, he put on his headphones and we didn’t speak for the rest of the evening… Likely because, we didn’t want to risk another damn argument over something dumb. I woke up at 3 am because my foot itched like crazy so, I had to get up to find the hydrocortisone cream… When he saw I was up, he started talking to me about Skyrim and at that point I knew everything was fine. He never did come to bed last night. He likely stayed up all night because, he was stressed and embarrassed. He always sleeps on the couch when things get that way. I think I’m gonna make him some French Toast and Eggs for breakfast as a sign of a truce and hope we have a good day. I’m sure everything is fine now. It was just a bunch of dumb little things that we made out to be bigger than they were. We’ve got quite a bit to do today… Here’s to hoping the day is good.

Oh! And Rick was just the sweetest, oh my fucking gosh. He patiently helped me get into the hospital because, it really freaking hurt to walk, he kissed my forehead before having to take a call (he's usually less affectionate in public), he held my hand during the blood draw/IV going in, he stayed in the room even when I was having the pelvic exam (he's braver than I am lol) and he helped me get dressed after the exam because I still had the IV in my arm. I was so appreciative and it all made my heart explode with happy feelings. I've never had someone I'm dating care for me like that... And when I told him that, he's like "this is what normal, loving people are supposed to do when their favorite person is feeling shitty". I never realized how little I settled for until Rick and I got together. We have our rough patches but, we are legitimately in love and are really there for each other. I'm so thankful to have found such a wonderful man to spend my life with❤
