Di naman ako nakapasa, so pwede ko na i-kwento. 

I got a message today saying,

“I regret to inform you that you were qualified, but did not meet the standards of Biggs Diner.”

Simula nung nag hanap ako ng ibang work last year pa, habang kasagsagan pa ng pandemic, at nag decide na gusto ko na mag settle sa Bicol, nag try ako mag pasa ng mag pasa ng resume online sa mga company na hiring doon. Sa dinami dami ng company na pinasahan ko dun, itong Biggs Diner (sikat na local restaurant in Bicol) at isang optical company na dalawang beses pa akong tinext lang yung nag respond sa application ko. 

Unang nag text yung optical company sakin pero dahil conflict nga sa sched, hindi ko na napuntahan kahit 2 beses pa nila ako in-invite for interview, hay. Tapos nung itong Biggs na yung nag invite sakin for interview, for managerial position, sakto naman na Zoom interview siya kaya nakapag confirm ako dito. After nung zoom interview na yun, medyo di naman na ko umasa kasi nagulat sila na from Manila pa pala ako so baka hindi na nila ipush thru.

Pero nung May 2, nakatanggap ako ulit ng message from them inviting me for another interview, this time face to face na. So what I did, nag paalam agad ako sa bisor ko na kailangan ko bumyahe pauwi ng Bicol. Pinayagan naman ako, yun nga lang sayang yung double pay ko nung May 3, tapos pag dating ko dun mistakes of date pala dahil na overlook yung date, at late narealize na holiday pala yung May 3, so okay lang since andun naman na ko’t wala naman na kong choice, hinayaan ko nalang. Kasi I was thinking na baka may magandang kapalit naman yung pag sacrifice ko ng double pay ko diba. Haha. 

So ayun, May 4 nag conduct na ng interview, naka abot naman ako sa final. Pero after nun, feeling ko naman na hindi talaga ako papasa, kahit qualified naman sana ako, kahit napag bigyan na ako kasi nga ang hinahanap nila ay yung may experience na sa food industry, though meron naman akong experience pero OJT ko pa yun. Mas matagal lang talaga siguro kasi akong nasa Customer Service kaya naiconsider parin ako for final interview.

Tatlong beses nga akong nagpasa ng resume dito, yung isang beses pa nakatanggap ako ng email na hindi ako shortlisted pero yung last time siguro, ito nga, naiconsider narin nila ako. Pero feeling ko kaya hindi ako nakapasa dahil hindi ko naibenta o naipresenta ng maayos yung skills and experience ko kahit wala ako sa food industry kasi na-intimidate ako sa boss. Hahaha. My gulay! huhu. Sinasabi ko na nga ba, kaya after nun pag labas ko ng office niya, sabi ko agad kay Joemar hindi na ako aasa, hindi ako papasa. Hehe.

Pero atleast another lesson and experience parin ‘to for me since ang tagal ko ng hindi sumasabak ng interviews. Marami pa namang opportunities jan na pwede kong i-try. Nag take risk lang talaga ako kasi magandang position na sana ‘to at magagamit ko na sana ulit yung napag aralan ko. 

Anyway, simula pa lang ulit ‘to. Hindi pa ko susuko.
