give me a knives who succeeds in brainwashing vash. meryl fails to reach him and a new generation of independents are born.
knives won. he has everything: vash and the power to destroy humanity once and for all. a perfect world for the two of them.
but it isn't.
he tries to rekindle a relationship with his brother, but something feels off. there's no brotherly banter. knives will make a joke about something that happened when they were young, but vash doesn't remember it right because it came from a time where there was rem and there was never a rem for vash in knives' perfect world. he'll tease vash about his humanity, but there's none left in vash so it's only met with confusion.
his brother has been reborn. he's finally the perfect independent.
but in making the perfect independent, knives has killed vash.
it will be a perfect world, but only for knives.
then there's the new independents. they're so young, only babies, but they won't be for long. knives tries to be caring for him, but it feels too much like rem. he can't care for them because he can't be her. so he thrusts knowledge upon them because he needs them to know that right now the world is brutal, but it won't be forever. soon, they'll have their eutopia.
vash is no different. everything kind about vash came from humans. it was rem who first taught him to respect all life. it was luida who reminded him, and every human he has encountered since. it was the world that made him kind. without it, he only understands fear and anger. he'll hear echoes sometimes. the dependent plants will share echoes of a life once lived, but vash doesn't understand them. those couldn't be him. he'd remember doing such a thing. he is simply a shell of someone once loved.
knives succeeds, but in doing so, he kills everything he loves.

Rewatching TriStamp and there's these fucked up birds in the first episode, when Vash is hanging outside the town and then again when he tells Roberto about Knives. And it cuts to a bird, with insect wings and segmented eyes, and then Knives is telling someone "you found Vash, bring me to him."
And I realized they weren't birds. They're bugs.
Zazie was the one who found Vash and brought Knives out to Jenora Rock

I’ve watched the most life-changing anime ever. Trigun Stampede the fucking amazing show you are. It took me forever to finally actually sit down and watch it. I’d seen enough edits during the time it was being r released and whilst it looked hella interesting I just never got around to it. And placed it on the back burner. But last night decided to get that free trial on Crunchyroll and watch that shit.
Best fucking hours of my entire life. I genuinely cannot fathom nor put into words how this show made me feel. Like it was just absolutely amazing in every way and form. The music? The soundtrack had me like salivating at the mouth. I’m not even lying when I say that soundtracks are probably the second most important thing to me in films and shows. The composer did absolutely fucking top tier shit my dude.
But like all honesty, not a lot of anime’s impact me. Like they definitely leave lasting impressions. Especially if I really, really love it. But this show just sunk its claws into me and brought me in with them. Everything about it was like an art. So beautiful. And the relationship ship Vash has with humans, how he treats them. The good and bad. How willing he is to protect them even when they’ve shown nothing but contempt towards him. Or tired to kill him even after he’s saved them.
AND GOD THE COMPLEX REALTIONSHIP BETWEEN VASH AND NAI 😭 so badly i can understand where Nai is coming from. I really do, I can understand why’d he want to save the plants and say fuck you to the humans. Because i get it. But I also understand Vash, and I can understand the morality he has. Between the love for humans and the love for his own brother. God the last episode was just really the peak of it all.
I’m so mad it took me this long to watch the show. But now i have, i can’t think of anything else. It’s so good I want to watch it all over again. Which I probably will because fucking beautiful shit. And i know theirs an original trigun, which im sure I’ll get to watching. But Trigun Stampede the fucking art you are.
EVERYTHING ABOUT IT WAS FUCKING TOP-TEIR. So bye whilst i hyperfixate on this show for the rest of my life <3

Vash stampede SPOILERS
Vash should’ve sided with Nai after revisiting that memory of the first independent being torn apart and kept alive for over 150 years
This a kinda obvious statement but I just needed to get it off my chest…
