Our Kenya adventure started in Nairobi. We met orphaned elephants who are being cared for and taught to care for themselves. When they are ready, they leave the orphanage and go out into the wilds of Nairobi National Park. Some return to visit bringing their babies with them.
There are elephants that will fit in your suitcase as well. These have just been made of clay. Once dry, fired and painted, they will be ready to follow you home.

Nairobi National Park Tour – Visit Nature’s Lap And The Rich Wildlife
When it comes to experiencing the breathtaking beauty of Kenyan wildlife, there's no better way to do it than with a Safari Package. This journey combines the unique charm of Nairobi National Park, Kenya's only wildlife park within a capital city, with the world-renowned Masai Mara, famous for its astonishing wildlife and the Great Migration.
The National Park, located just a short drive from Nairobi's bustling city center, offers a striking juxtaposition of the urban and the wild. Established in 1946, it encompasses 117 square kilometers of pristine savannah, rolling plains, and acacia woodlands. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species.
Tumblr media
One of the park's most iconic features is the backdrop of the city's skyline, which provides a unique and unforgettable setting for wildlife photography and the masai mara flight safari package is a good option. Unlike many other national parks, Nairobi National Park allows you to embark on a thrilling game drive just minutes away from the city's airport. The accessibility of this park makes it a fantastic starting point for your safari adventure.
Exploring Nairobi National Park
Your Nairobi Park experience can be tailored to your preferences. A typical day here includes:
Game Drives: Start your day with a sunrise game drive, during which you may spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, and herds of buffalo and giraffes against the backdrop of Nairobi's high-rises.
Photography: With stunning landscapes, abundant wildlife, and that iconic cityscape, the park is a photographer's dream come true.
Animal Orphanage: Visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's elephant orphanage and the Nairobi Animal Orphanage to learn about their conservation efforts and get up close with baby elephants and other rescued animals.
Picnic: Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park, soaking up the serene ambiance of the Kenyan wilderness.
Cultural Experiences: If you're interested in local culture, you can arrange visits to nearby Maasai villages to learn about their traditions, music, and dance.
Nairobi to Masai Mara: A Scenic Flight Safari
After a day of exploration and wildlife encounters in Nairobi Park, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for a short and scenic flight to the Masai Mara. This thrilling flight journey provides stunning aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and the rolling plains below. In just about an hour, you'll be transported from the capital city to one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in the world.
The Masai Mara: Nature's Grand Theater
The Masai Mara National Reserve, an extension of the Serengeti in Tanzania, is world-renowned for its incredible wildlife and dramatic landscapes. Here, you'll encounter the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) and a diverse array of other species, all set against the backdrop of the Mara's endless plains and the gently meandering Mara River.
Your Masai Mara Flight Safari Experience
A typical 3-day Masai Mara Flight Safari package includes:
Game Drives: Daily game drives in open-roofed vehicles led by expert guides who will help you track the region's abundant wildlife. Witnessing the awe-inspiring Great Migration, when millions of wildebeests and zebras traverse the Mara River, is a sight to behold.
Lodging: Luxurious lodges or tented camps that provide comfortable accommodations and delicious meals. Many of these accommodations are strategically located to offer stunning views and proximity to wildlife.
Bush Walks: Guided bush walks for a more intimate and up-close experience with the Mara's flora and fauna. This is a fantastic way to learn about the smaller creatures and plants that often go unnoticed on traditional game drives.
Balloon Safaris: For a truly breathtaking experience, you can opt for a hot air balloon safari to witness the Masai Mara's wildlife from the sky during sunrise.
Cultural Interaction: Visit a Maasai village to learn about their traditional way of life, cultural practices, and perhaps even take part in a traditional dance.
This combined adventure offers a unique blend of urban exploration and wild discovery. Starting your journey in Nairobi National Park allows you to ease into your safari experience while exploring a one-of-a-kind wildlife haven right on the outskirts of Kenya's capital. The convenience of a short flight to the Masai Mara ensures that you maximize your time experiencing the incredible wildlife of the Mara.
