9 Most Hate Anime Characters
1- Gabi Braun - Attack on Titan
Tumblr media
Gabi was turned into a Titan, In chapter 138 of the manga, along with other Eldians at Fort Salta. However, she is only either a normal or abnormal Titan, rather than an actual Titan shifter and will need to eat someone that has one of the Nine Titans' powers to turn back into a human.
2- Sakura Haruno - Anime Naruto
Tumblr media
Though there were only subtle hints of romance throughout the series, it was always apparent that Naruto had two potential love interests: Sakura and Hinata. Fans who stayed until the end know that Naruto eventually married Hinata while Sakura ended up with Sasuke, but it certainly did not go without much debate.
3- Danzo Shimura Is Ruthless & Brutal - Anime Naruto
Tumblr media
He is a Villain, the leader of an organization called Root. Danzo was behind many crimes that led to many tragedies. He was interested in becoming the Sixth Hokage after Tsunade was incapacitated fighting against Pain. Follow us for more Anime stuff Princess Malty on Amazon
4- Princess Malty Melromarc Is A Shameless Schemer -
Anime The Rising Of The Shield Hero

She easily convinced Motoyasu of falsely claiming Naofumi of having a "brainwashing shield", by which he supposedly brainwashed the people, kidnapping the second princess and killing Ren and Itsuki.  Follow us for more Anime stuff The Rising Of The Shield Hero on Amazon
5- Shou Tucker - Anime Full metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

6- Near - Anime Death Note
Tumblr media
Near is a young, slender, fair-skinned man with a petite build, gray eyes, and short, shaggy platinum blonde hair which he often plays with. He is only seen wearing a white, long-sleeved pajama top and white pajama pants. In the anime, Near's pants are light blue. In the Death Note One-Shot Special, which takes place three years after the end of the Kira case, Near is shown to have sharp bags under his eyes, slightly longer hair, and to have undergone a growth spurt. He sits in a posture similar to L's and is often seen being expressionless. Follow us for more Anime stuff  Near Death Note on Amazon. @Odalali645
7- Asta - Anime Black Cover

As the main protagonist on the show and future Emperor of the Clover Kingdom, Asta is easily the most powerful character on the show. He learns to channel the energy throughout his body and attains a form where Anti-Magic courses through him and covers part of his body, gaining a horn on the right side of his head. To activate the form, Asta must stand still with one of his swords and concentrate on circulating the energy, which leaves him open to attack.
8- Pariston Hill - Anime Hunter x Hunter
Tumblr media
Pariston Hill  is a Villain Triple-Star Hunter and both the former 13th Chairman and 12th Vice Chairman of the Hunter Association. He is also a former member of the Zodiacs with the code name "Rat". Slight spoilers for the Shield Hero manga but
ok but like think about it tho- L'Arc and Myne are both well-endowed redhead royals who Naofumi takes an immediate liking to and they both eventually betray him BUT UNLIKE MYNE WHO FUCKED HIM OVER L'Arc genuinely cared for Naofumi and was a genuine, immediate friend who was only forced to kill him under the false pretense that he NEEDED to kill the Shield and other heroes to save his homeworld and going over the anime and manga again I'm pretty convinced Naofumi had his bi awakening when he hung out with L'Arc and saw how powerful he an Therese were istg L'Arc is the Anti-Myne

Read through light novel vol. 4. Random thoughts.
Tumblr media
I'm not sure which version of the execution I prefer; the anime's or the LN's?
Anime: gets all the way to the guillotine before Naofumi steps in to spare the King and Malty, doing so because he realizes how much he's looking forward to their deaths and feels very mixed about it. He saves them for his own sake, not their's.
LN: He's the one who demands they be put to death and is only talked down from it by the Queen appealing to his sense of logic and reason, pointing out all the the problems that the King's death could cause.
Both versions appeal to Naofumi's character but different parts of it, so it's hard for me to say which I like better. I don't have problems with heroes wanting revenge and wishing bad things upon those who deserve it but I did like in the anime that he chose to be better than than his instincts, even if NOBODY could blame him if he didn't lift a finger to help the two after all they'd put him through. But on the other hand, he was still badly burned enough that it's completely understandable he'd want them to get the punishment they deserve, and it's good character that he's not so lost in his need for vengeance that he won't listen to reason.
The two versions feel kind of like I just played through a Telltale version of Shield Hero. The story diamond all comes to together to end at relatively the same point but the different paths and choices leading to the characters feeling different ways about the MC. "X will remember that."
Anyway, speaking of the Queen, she was one of my favorite characters in the anime and I am so happy she's just as awesome in the books. She came in and laid down the freaking law. There was just such a sense of elation reading her just tear into and publicly humiliate her husband and daughter. Some of it is clearly her venting her anger, but the thing is it feels completely justified. Not just because of what they've been doing to the Shield Hero but rather the biggest problem of what their selfish and shortsighted actions have caused between them and the other countries.
She feels like a real proper authority and I like her relation with Naofumi. It doesn't feel like she's treating him well because he's the main character but rather that she's doing it for her kingdom. I've heard a criticism of RoTSH is that every character is either completely against Naofumi or relentlessly praising him. While I've only seen the anime and not yet read the whole series, I feel like that ignores the Sword and Bow Heroes, whom are still observing the situation and haven't made up their minds about Naofumi, and the Queen, whom is just trying to do right by her people by doing right by Naofumi. Not that she doesn't like him at all but you get a sense of where her priorities are.
"But why is Malty tied up? And is that a gag in her mouth?”
“Because she doesn’t know how to shut her mouth, that’s why.”
Dammit, woman, you're married! Stop making me love you!

Medea’s Anime/Game Superlative of 2019
Well it’s that time of the year where I look back on the animes I’ve watched and the games I played with this outdated meme quiz from 10 years ago. But I still do it for the fun of it! As usual, it doesn’t matter what year the anime or game came out. If I messed with it this year, it counts for the honors. So if it came out two years ago (which feels like forever ago), it counts. Let’s get at it!
Tumblr media
First Fandom of 2019: The Promised Neverland
Episode 1! That’s all you need to watch to officially get hooked to this series. I jumped on this title at the beginning of the year not knowing what to expect due to Aniplex and Crunchyroll whoring this particular anime months prior. But once I saw the first episode, I was immediately hooked. It shook me to my core to watch one of the most graphic scenes to come from this year. I was captivated by Emma, Norman, and Ray’s plans in order to escape their doomed fate of becoming food for creepy demons. Each episode, I was at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Is Gilda in cahoots with Sister Krone? Will Don learn the truth about what really happened to Connie in episode 1? Can Ray be trusted? IS NORMAN STILL ALIVE?! Come on, I’m like really far ahead in the manga. I want to see Norman and Emma together again. I’m so happy this series is getting a second season in 2020.
Tumblr media
Favorite Main Character of 2019: Haru from My Roommate is a Cat
It was a close call this year for main characters and normally I don’t shoot for main characters. This year I will admit that I fell in love with Chika from Kaguya-sama. Plus, I still love me some Lana from Pokemon Sun/Moon! And I finally started part III of Jojo’s, so Grandpa Joestar is just the awesome OH MY GOD that I need. However, they all lose out to a cat! Yeah, just like that one year where I picked Nyanko-sensei as my favorite main character, I’m doing it again.
I know Haru can’t actually talk back to her human, but the audience can hear what she’s really saying and it’s absolutely amusing. She was funny when she thought the word “Haru” meant food. She’s so adorable when she’s playing with whatever catches her eye. She’s got quite the personality (almost tsundere even). But I gotta admire Haru too. Before she was adopted, Haru was on the street trying her best to look out for her younger siblings. Even giving them more food scraps when she would go hungry herself. After Haru was adopted by Subaru, she eventually warmed up to him as “her human”. It was a learning experience for both as Haru didn’t know how to react to having a human care for her and Subaru has never taken care of a cat before. But Haru is a loyal kitty who loves her human. Hell, she ran away from home because she feared her human collapsed somewhere. Haru’s the greatest!
Favorite Villain of 2019:
…Dear God, give me the strength to pull through this one.
Tumblr media
Princess Malty “Myne, Bitch, Whore” Melromarc (The Rising of the Shield Hero)
No, this is not me insulting her. These are all her official names. Really! In many of the animes I watched this year, the villains were pretty hit-and-miss with me. I’m in the middle of watching the elven uprise with Black Clover and didn’t want to talk about that this year. Fairy Tail’s villains are just okay. And I didn’t watch Frieza this year! So let’s talk about the ONE villain who even out-trump’s the actual villain to the series.
It only took one episode for an entire fandom to turn on one single character. A single lie that figuratively speaking threw our main protagonist Naofumi under the bus, kicked him in the nuts, shanked him, robbed him, and thrown him off a cliff. Myne did so much throughout this series. She lied about being raped. She abused her power to get what she wanted. She set up someone to fail constantly. She attempted murder on her own sister (several times) just to keep her status as first in line to the throne. And she cheats so she gets her way! It was so sickening to watch this vile woman for more than just one episode. When you created a character who was so disgusting and revolting as a secondary villain, you did something right! It’s like with Shou Tucker and Father from Full Metal Alchemist. Ask any anime fan and they’ll definitely remember Tucker over Father. Myne is this anime’s Shou Tucker! And I have to give her some credit, she is now one memorable villain. And aren’t villains usually supposed to be despised? I, Naofumi, most characters in Shield Hero after episode 21, and all of the internet can come together in agreement to say, we hate Malty, Myne, Bitch, Whore.
Final insult on the matter, she’s a cunt!
Tumblr media
Favorite Video Game Character(s) of 2019: Piers & Marnie (Pokemon: Sword and Shield)
I knew point blank that Marnie was going to be my favorite rival in this game. I knew I was going to enjoy the antics of her yell squad (a.k.a. Team Yell) too. But I never expected to meet her brother and enjoy him too. Like in more recent games, Pokemon has given your character a total of three rivals to look out for. And while Hop is just the British version of Hau and Bede is just…a fuck-face, Marnie was someone who marched to the beat of her own drum. She recognizes a powerful foe and has a level of respect for her rival. She has her own fanbase, but isn’t totally arrogant about it. Plus, she doesn’t mind helping you out and giving an extra boost in battle. Plus that smile scene is just too adorable for words. And then there’s Piers!
First of all, I just love the design of this guy. What did I say when I first laid eyes on him? It’s like if David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, and Sid Vicious threw up on a pentagram crafted from Hot Topic gear and this dude emerges! And much like his sister, he marches to the beat of his own drum. That’s why he’s the only gym leader in Galar that doesn’t use the Dynamax method. I would have been satisfied if I only got to see him once or twice in the game. But I was blessed when Piers came to my aid to take down the Marco Cosmos thugs AND take on all the rogue Dynamax pokemon in the post-game. I’m impressed! Out of all the people they picked to help the protagonist and Hop in this adventure, it was Piers. I am ever so happy by this. I am so heavily invested in this guy that I’m already thinking of fic ideas involving him.
Tumblr media
Favorite Game of 2019: Pokemon Masters
As much as I really do love Pokemon Sword and Shield, I gotta give it to the mobile game this year. This game not only made one of my reoccurring dreams come true, but gave it something no other Pokemon game has been able to do in over twenty years. HUMAN VOICES! The trainers, they speak! AND YOU CAN CHANGE BETWEEN ENGLISH AND JAPANESE! Do you have any idea how much of a win this is for me! I know they’ll never have Tracey Sketchit in the game, but this still rocks my world. Do you know how much I love hearing Mamoru Miyano play a dickish bad guy? Do you know how badly I need to hear Daisuke Ono on a day-to-day basis? I’m a voice queen!
I know I don’t usually like to give praise to freemium games for the mobile phones, but this game is quite nice. I mean, yeah, you really do have to save up your gems in order to (hopefully) get the 5-star trainer that’s currently advertised and the urge of wanting to open up your wallet to actually purchase gems is tantalizing. Not as fucked as Fate/Grand Order, but you get my meaning. Unlike a lot of the freemium games, this one doesn’t limit you so much to play (unless you spend fake or real money in the game). You can super train all you want and not lose stamina! Plus, I like these special sync moves between trainer and pokemon. And there’s just something about seeing all of these different trainers from all these regions together and interacting with each other. Despite never seeing a lot of this in the anime, manga, or previous games.
Tumblr media
Favorite Het Couple of 2019: Retsuko x Haida (Aggretsuko)
In one of my baby accomplishments this year, I stopped being a tight-wad and splurged on a Netflix account. Right around the same time it becomes unpopular. Hahaha! Why does this always happen to me?
Throughout the series, we’ve watched Retsuko take chances with a lot of guys including a charming polar bear, a red panda with the brain of a pot plant, and the world’s handsomest donkey. But Retsuko has friend-zoned her workmate Haida the whole time. Meanwhile, I and pretty much like 90% of the fanbase ship the fuck out of this. Rightfully so! Haida has been admiring her from afar for so long. He tries his best to be supportive of her in the office and elsewhere. He was even nice enough to run back to the office to try and help Retsuko with the last-minute paperwork thrown at her on Christmas Eve. Hell, we watched him at his best in the season two finale helping to corner Tadano. And even though she turned him down at the end of season one, I still hold out that there’s hope. I mean, it was right after a break-up, so it was kind of the right call for Retsuko to not go out with Haida. Season three could give us this ship in the end. I know Retsuko doesn’t see Haida as boyfriend material as of now, but I have a feeling it can change.
Tumblr media
Favorite Yuri Couple of 2019: Atsuko “Akko” Kagari x Amanda O’Neill (Little Witch Academia)
That’s right, Akko and Amanda. This is the one Yuri ship I’m leaning on more than all the other ones. I know she wasn’t involved in the infamous love-bee episode, but that still didn’t stop me from making dirty jokes whenever these two girls were together for an episode. And that’s what makes it better! Akko and Amanda’s relationship wasn’t tampered with because of a love bee, what they have is real! Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating. But whenever I see them together doing something in an episode, I can totally see them as something more. Then again, my mind is warped.
Besides, this is as close to a yuri couple as I got this year. I can’t mention the one second we got of Ymir x Historia from Attack on Titan. Yayoi and Shion didn’t get much in Psycho Pass 3. And it’s leaps and bounds better than that OTHER anime I watched with two girls. Happy Sugar Life? More like a big pile of nope!
Tumblr media
Favorite Yaoi Couple of 2019: Mafuyu Satou x Ritsuka Uenoyama (Given)
You knew it was coming! I was rooting for these two boys since they met in episode one. And even though I had to hold it back a bit when I learned of Mafuyu’s grieving, I still hoped that one day, these two boys would defy the odds and become the sweetest couple of 2019. Was I correct? While it wasn’t as full-blown gay as Yuri on Ice, it still gave us so much.
As I mentioned, Mafuyu was in a relationship prior to meeting Uenoyama. And this one ended in heartbreak as Mafuyu’s lover dies. But meeting Uenoyama, Mafuyu was able to smile again and got to play the instrument his previous lover left behind. Mafuyu was able to shake off the sad shackles of the past and start life anew. Now is this feeling mutual? Of course! Uenoyama dealt with the worry of “will he, won’t he” and by the end of the series, the audience seems pretty satisfied with the outcome and hope for the best of these sweet boys.
Tumblr media
Fandom That You Didn’t Expect To Get Into: Domestic Girlfriend
2019 has given me surprise amounts of incest! This year alone I wound up watching several surprise incest anime plots including Kiss x Sis, Marmalade Boy, and Eromanga Sensei. And those of you who are not on the up-take, surprise incest is primarily a love plot involving your step-sibling. But there was just something about Domestic Girlfriend that I just couldn’t shake. I couldn’t believe I binge-watched this entire series. I couldn’t believe I picked up the manga immediately after the finale. I couldn’t believe…that I didn’t despise this anime! Yeah, usually anything with even a whiff of incest, I throw in the trash and put a bullet through its head. This one, I did not.
Simple story! Boy named Natsuo fucks a random girl and also has a crush on his teacher. Natsuo’s father tells him he’s getting remarried. Then, BIG BOMBSHELL, the random girl that got fucked and his teacher are now going to be his step-sisters. Concept alone was just fifty shades of messed up. I mean, who the heck do you root for in this situation? Throughout the 12 episodes I went back and forth either rooting for Rui or Hina. And for episode, I rooted for Miu, the cute literary girl. I was so intrigued that I had to dig through the manga for more answers. But I enjoyed this trashy soap opera! I doubt it’ll get a sequel, but it was…fun for the most part. Too hot for television fun! And if that makes me trash, well call me Forky because...
Tumblr media
Yeah, I can admit that freely now.
Tumblr media
Fandom That Made An Unexpected Comeback: Fruits Basket
*squeals* I never thought this would come back into my life. One of my all-time favorite animes was returning with a reboot. AND IT WAS GLORIOUS! Oh sure, the first half of this series was literally a shot-for-shot remake of the original Studio Deen anime. But even that was enough to make me love every frame of it. Fruits Basket was just one of those animes that grabs you with the intriguing tale of a cursed family that changes into members of the zodiac. Then they take you on a fun ride with silly moments like Kyo and Yuki fighting each other or Ayame telling his ridiculous stories or Hatsuharu flashing some guy his junk. But then this series takes you on a detour of the most heart-wrenching stories involving heartbreak, bullying, gangs, abandonment, and hiding your true self.
This show re-introduced us to the many colorful and complex characters that exist. From the ultra-flaymboyant Ayame to the complex Ritsu! Many of these characters have severe baggage coming and going and you just wish the best for them. And seeing Tohru reach out to just about everyone in her own way, to tell them she’s there for them and she accepts them all for who they are, it just gets to you. 18 years was too long to keep this gem away from us. Welcome back Fruits Basket, we missed you.
Tumblr media
Fandom That Inspired the Most Crack: Zombieland Saga
I know it came out last year, but I got the opportunity to finally watch it this year. And it was every bit of crazy as people told me it would be. Who would have thought mashing zombies and idol shows together would be a good idea?
Seriously! You’ve got Mamoru Miyano voicing the craziest character to date, who’s a necromancer who brings back seven girls from the dead. Puts special makeup on them to fool unsuspecting audience members! All to bring life back to the Saga prefecture. Add another layer to the WTF cake, these dead girls are all from different times including 2008, 1997, the showa period in the 1980’s…you even have one from the freakin’ 19th century! But that’s not all! These girls end up becoming an idol group singing different kinds of genres. One episode they’re head-banging to metal rock and the next IT’S A FRIGGIN’ 8 MILE RAP-BATTLE! And then you have this one girl named Yamada Tae. She doesn’t speak and usually makes weird noises throughout the entire series, but we don’t care! We freakin’ love her! And even with the oddball girl, she’s not the craziest character on here. Who needs a Best Girl category when you know the best girl is just going to be the crazy dude in the shades!
I’m absolutely cereal on this! Kotaro Tatsumi STOLE this show for his own! With his crazy antics, constant shouting random phrases every five seconds, and eccentric behavior, this made for one of the most entertaining animes I’ve ever watched.
Tumblr media
Last Fandom of 2019: Pokemon: Sun & Moon/2019
I know I spent the greater part of Sun/Moon bashing several aspects of the series. But Sun/Moon was gradually getting better compared to its slow start. This year we’ve got some extreme character growth from some of Ash’s friends and even pokemon. I was amazed to watch episodes featuring Lana, Mallow, and even Sophocles growing. Lana up against Kyogre, Mallow’s thank you to her deceased mother, and Sophocles mastering Z-moves, all of these were great! Add to that, a Pokemon League that showed all of us up after 20 years of disbelief of Ash ever winning a competition. Where HE WON THE FUCKING COMPETITION! With the exception of one of the matches, this Pokemon League is definitely one for the history books for Ash. From his epic dog fight with Gladion, to the six-on-six with his mentor, to taking down a massive Ultra Beast, to taking on an island deity! All leading up to one of the most beautiful goodbyes and finale! Seriously, I screamed balls when I saw a pregnant Professor Burnet.
And my high continues with the new continuation of Pokemon 2019 (yeah, still the name). First of all, praise Arceus the animation has improved! Secondly, I am fully digging Ash and Gou traveling together. In answer to your question, yes I’m already shipping the hell out of them. Third, having these boys travel all around the pokemon world has given me so much hope in the world. The boys are going to be traveling the pokemon world revisitng old places including Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kalos. I know I was disappointed in Ash not soley traveling to Galar and having Pikachu wear a Sherlock Holmes hat, but this I can’t cast to the side.
Tumblr media
And yes, I support Ash x Gou like a beast!

Tate no Yuusha: Last Episode (Anime vs Manga)
Spoilers to the last episode and manga adaptation ahead!
Well, they packed so much in this last episode didn't they. Not that they really had any choice considering it was the one and only good way to close the whole season. Though I feel a little robbed about some stuff, like the relationship L'Arc had with Glass (meaning, she was acting as his superior and he was really good at supporting her during the fight in the manga, a lot of their interactions there were more fleshed out than in the anime). It was shown to some extent, but focus was lost. Probably due to the battle. It looked as if anime focused on showing how “woohoo” battle is instead of focusing more on Glass and how she needed her party during the battle. Anime tried to show her as powerful, but in the same time refused to acknowledge her weakness after Naofumi became stronger and focused only on this one caused by Soul Eater Shield. Manga to the contrary focuses on how much of a pain Naofumi became to Glass for the sake of showing how helpful L'Arc and Therese are to her when Glass is in a pinch or fights someone strong. Well, I can only say it's a price which we pay for translating novel to two different mediums at the same time.
I feel also robbed from the whole drama with Risha. In the manga it didn't happen as quickly as in the anime. She got whole storyarc, from which we learned a lot about Itsuki, his party, how they treated her, which kind of person Risha is and even her quirk of going around in a costume, because she feels safe inside something. We were robbed of that image of her saving the day in her cute costume just like in the last episode we got robbed from all the drama of L'Arc's betrayal and some of his great texts like "Don't make that face. This hurts my heart, too." (Which by the way is along with Glass comments a confirmation that there is a room for L'Arc x Naofumi in this whole universe).
Tumblr media
We also got robbed from Therese telling everybody that L'Arc sucks when it comes to explaining things clearly to other people, which is... a shame, like it would flesh out his character a little more than anime actually tries. (If anybody wanna see, check chapter 40 of the manga).
Speaking of which, the whole battle is also shown in a different way in the manga, because Naofumi never splits up from Raphtalia and uses Soul Eater Shield from the very start to nearly the end. The change in the manga to use only this one shield and also to not split up parties was used to give us more informations about Glass and L'Arc due to them being from another world (simply put, there is more team battle in the manga and basically no individual battle, which anime shows instead). In anime this whole scene serves as "wow, it's a cool battle going on", but also as "Glass isn't human" realisation scene, where she alone is more of a thread than when she battles with her team. There is nothing about L'Arc also drinking the vial. Not to mention that in the manga Glass didn't drink the vial, she literally bathed in it, which made her so overpowered that it also strenghtened the sense of abnormality without actually any need to split her from her peers (meaning that bath and power were two weird things which made her abnormal). So I feel kinda robbed of that, simply because it was great reinterpretation of the novel. Sometimes just going along with the text in a book isn't the best choice and it really shows in this scene. Naofumi in the anime doesn't really look as if he was cornered enough to actually use Shield of Wrath, while in the manga the sheer power which Glass shows there (and doesn't in the anime as much as in the manga) was enough to make him instantly switch to using the Shield of Wrath. And it worked better, not only because anime forgot that Naofumi should act violently while using that Shield. (Do I have to add that manga portrays him as going into evil/crazy guy mode and Raphtalia and Filo throw themselves at him to actually stop him from doing anything bad to Glass, and also show that L'Arc makes concerned face when he SAVES Glass from Naofumi, while Naofumi is fighting with his own party yelling that they have to take Glass down now, because it's their chance?)
Tumblr media
(He kinda looks like as if he was in pain for seeing Naofumi in such a state).
*sighs* Manga definitely won me over, but I cannot say that anime did bad in portraying the battle. It did fine. I mean anime is a visual medium as much as manga is, but because manga is a comic while anime is a TV series there are of course differences in the way they use visual methods to explain things to the audience. Also anime tend to go into "wooohoo" mode when there are battles during the episode, which rarely happens in the comics, where battles serve as trigger to actually tell audience more about the characters. Here we kinda have the situation where anime was focusing on “wow, battle” while manga was focusing on “look how powerful Glass is after bathing in this vial with potion and look how abnormaly powerful she became”. Manga went nuts to show that Glass is overpowered, while anime tried to show that in the strenght of her attacks, but even though she was strong it still kinda felt a little flat if I am honest. I almost wish animators were reading the manga and tried to borrow some stuff from there to improve the storyline, instead of going along with the novel.
(Simply put, Glass was strong only after she bathed in the vials, and before that she was as much vulnerable as any other character so she needed her party. Anime went with her being still the most powerful and split her up with her peers early on, so she could go nuts at Naofumi, but then when she drank the vial she became just a little more stronger though considering she was already shown as strong before, it didn’t have the same effect as in the scenario when she relied on her team more to fight with Naofumi, cuz he became so much stronger).
Tumblr media
Ok, moving on, what I was talking about earlier? Ah, Risha and her fluffy costumes. We were robbed of Risha and her fluffy costumes! And Itsuki being a total jerk! I really wish they didn't pack it into this one episode as "quick summary of what happened to her" and instead went with whole arc, because Risha’s SUICIDE ATTEMPT feels so flat in comparision! But well, they had to close the season and the best way seemed to be with the use of Naofumi's new title and territory as well as semi-romantic scene with Raphtalia (I do not ship them, but I also do not want to rob people who ship them from their joy, I just point out that Risha’s whole storyarc suffered, because of the haste in this last episode and the need to close it with Naofumi’s homebase). Oh, and we also were robbed of the info that Motoyasu cannot handle crying girls as well as him still treating Naofumi as if he was a rapist, instead of a victim of Malty's scheme. Well, there was more stuff with all that. There was a lot of things, including Naofumi getting angry at Motoyasu and Itsuki again, because one is a jerk and the other is an idiot. Whole drama with Risha has much more weight in the manga and I wish it was treated seriously in the anime as well, because it’s just unfair to her as a character to be treated as if her suicide attempt was something unimportant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Read chapters 40-48 of the manga, it’s good).
There was though whole recruiting new party members thing mentioned in the manga and I was really excited for that, because when thinking about people who Naofumi can trust, he instinctively thought about L’Arc and Therese. Which so happens to not be adressed at all in the anime. It almost looks like that for the sake of cute ending Naofumi forgot he has trust issues and as a person with trust issues myself I am sure he still has them and would be worried about adding people, whom he cannot trust to his party so lightly.
Tumblr media
Actually I was kinda suprised that Naofumi got whole place to run, because I didn't remember that being mentioned in the manga. In the manga Naofumi was in the Castle in Melromarc after the wave, dealing with whole Risha drama. I do not remember there being any village restoration mentioned, so I dunno if anime added that or manga actually skipped whole "Naofumi became the Lord and started building his base of operation in this world" thing. It was probably the latter considering that both anime and manga adapt the same novel.
For the anime adaptation it probably felt more important to adress Raphtalia's fear of abandonment, considering that anime was hinting at her being afraid of that in a lot of episodes already, while for the manga it was more important to adress issues with other heroes first, so then the whole Spirit Tortoise Arc would make much more sense due to them being idiots who cannot deal with the fact that they are weaker than people in the universe they were summoned to, when they should actually be stronger than them as heroes. It's a matter of interpretation and approach to the source material mostly.
But, boy, how much good stuff we could get...

7. On stage, in front of a crowd (it can turn into a gang-bang if one or both muns have more than one muse and they agree on it)
The punishment carried out on Malty was a mating press by the man she tried to destroy, and right now she was singing his praises.
“Oh god! Naofumi! This dick, oh my god! Yes, I’m sorry for all the pain I caused you! Please use me! Fuck my disrespectful pussy with that heroically hung dick of yours! Please let me join your party so that I can do my duty and be of use to you~”
To spend the rest of her life in service of the Shield Hero, spending her life rectifying the wrongs she’d caused him.
That was the First Princess’ punishment for co conspiring with the Church and the King to undermine the Heroes and indirectly the Queen herself. The immediate punishment wasn’t his idea, or was it? He thought he overheard someone in the castle say something about this being the first and foremost show of her working off her debt to him. She was even enslaved over to him, so he could personally assure that she couldn’t lie, or do anything to harm him.
“You’ve sure got a naughty mouth for someone who claimed to be a virgin!” Maybe tweaking her settings like some kind of game moderator through the slave seal wasn’t exactly fair, pushing her sensitivity to its max setting would probably melty her brain’s pleasure center. He wasn’t being at all nice to her either, not like he was the Queen by comparison the night before, he was taking out his aggressions on her just to clear his head of his anger. Not that it did anything, he had plenty to be angry about.
So he fucked her, his property, in front of hundreds of nobles in the would-be execution grounds, and indirectly in front of the entire kingdom, those that watched the trail through magic crystal balls. Her legs were up on his as he fucked her deeply, each thrust, he wanted to reach as deep as he could, and being nin inches and some change, he could get pretty far, he just wanted each time he filled her up to hurt, just a little bit each time.

INTERVIEW: Sarah Emi Bridcutt Has Fun Being Bad as Myne in The Rising of the Shield Hero
Tumblr media
  Interview conducted by Thomas Zoth
The Rising of the Shield Hero had a huge cast of memorable characters, but none were quite as infamous as Malty Melromarc (Myne). She threw protagonist Naofumi’s life into chaos mere hours after he was transported into a fantasy world, and used every opportunity she could to undermine and sabotage him. We had the opportunity to talk with lovely Sarah Emi Bridcutt, the talented actress who brought Myne to life about her career, which roles she enjoys the most, and how challenging it was to embody such a ruthless character!
Tumblr media
What inspired you to make a career out of voice acting?
I was inspired by Minami Takayama, who is the voice actress of Detective Conan.
Is Detective Conan a show that you really like?
  Yes.
Wow, is voice acting always something that you wanted to do?
  Yes.
How did you first enter the voice acting industry?
I majored in theater, and during that time, I was also going to school to become an actress and a voice actress and then went from that into production.
I just want to say, your training really shows. You’re a really talented actress.
  Thank you very much.
Tumblr media
Could you tell us a little bit about the recording process? What is a day in the life of a voice actress like?
It’s a little complicated. It depends on the day. Some days I work from 10:00 to 3:00, other days it’ll be 4:00 to 9:00, sometimes I have to work all day long.
What types of characters are your favorites to voice?
I like acting as a lady, but I also enjoy portraying characters more like Myne, a more evilish-lady.
Can I ask what you like about being evil?
When I’m acting, I can say something that I would never say in my personal life. It feels a little fun.
Tumblr media
So the gap between the character and you is fun for you?
  Yeah.
Are there any characters from manga or novels that have not made their anime debut that you would like to voice?
I have many characters that I would be really interested in acting and cannot decide, but I would like to voice something that’s not a human being.
I know you talked a little bit about the actor for Detective Conan, but are there any other actors that you really look up to?
Kikuko Inoue (Belldandy in Oh My Goddess), Miyuki Sawashiro (Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter), and Miyuki Sawashiro (Fujiko Mine in Lupin the Third) are the people I look up to.
Is there a specific type of character that you have not voiced that you want to voice?
I have done them, but I would love to act as a boy. For example, a type of Inazuma Eleven, that’s the name of the manga, a main character or rival for that, I would love to act in that.
I would love to hear your voice as one of those characters! Is there a particular process you use to get into character?
I don’t have a particular routine, but I’m aware of the script, character designs, and I just prepare myself.
Tumblr media
Your character in Shield Hero, Myne, is very villainous, and I would love to hear more about what it was like to play such an evil character.
The big thing with acting as this character was that at first, it was a challenge for me. I was really nervous about being that evil of a character. But when I started voice acting in the first episode, the sound director Fumiyuki Go said, “This character is just straight bad, so you don’t need to worry about anything, just be straight bad.” So that cleared my mind and I started to enjoy acting the character as evil.
I’m so glad that the sound director was able to clarify it so much for you. It really shows. You were able to get across the Myne character perfectly. Could you tell us a little bit about the casting process, and how you were selected to voice Myne?
I’m not sure in detail about the process, but I went to the audition for Raphtalia, a character in the same show. There were two auditions, one for Raphtalia and the other character. So I went to both auditions, and afterward got the character of Myne.
That’s so interesting. So you auditioned for the heroine role and then got the villain role.  If you could say anything to Myne, face to face, what would you tell her?
You’re terrible! It may sound a bit weird, but I want to thank her.
Tumblr media
I understand. I feel like she was able to give you a role, but in a way Myne has also helped  Naofumi grow.
  Yes.
I think that that’s really special that you were able to get that across.
  Of course. Thanks.
Okay, we’re at the last question. First, thank you very much for being with us, we really appreciate it.
  Thank you very much.
Is there anything you’d like to say to fans of Shield Hero in the West?
I really appreciate that you’ve chosen to love this show, out of all the anime nowadays. There might not be a large number of Myne fans, because of her personality, but Myne’s also a key character of this show, so if they love Naofumi and the other characters, I would really appreciate if they loved Myne a little bit or showed a little concern for Myne, too.
Tumblr media
Who is your favorite Rise of the Shield Hero character? Let us know in the comments!

Do you love writing? Do you love anime? If you have an idea for a features story, pitch it to Crunchyroll Features!
