LUPIN III - THE FOURTH

There's more of them. Oh God they're everywhere-

If I'm gonna pretend this is an actual movie, I might as well draw the supporting cast too. (I'm also planning to draw a poster. I may have a problem.)

Lupin the Third's Gang! No introductions needed.

ICPO! By the time this "movie" happens, Yata's gotten to Inspector, and he's in charge of the Meiwaku case.

The Meiwaku Gang! They are composed of:

Naomi Motosuki: swordsman, Goemon's former apprentice, Jigen's niece. Hides her chaotic personality behind a special interest on Bushido. Regularly has to debunk the media's claims that she's Lupin the Fourth.

Hiro Kimura: hacker, ninja. Usually the brains of the operations. Pretty chill, you wouldn't peg him as a troublemaker, until you find him sneaking in your vents.

Milo Clarke: medic, getaway driver, holder of the braincell. Very sweet but won't hesitate to punch a bitch (and apologize afterwards). (belongs to @whosayscrimedoesntpay)

Kanako Misuki: explosive expert. Her personality matches her skills. She used to be part of a biker gang.

A lone wolf - well, fox. Renjiro is Jigen and Goemon's adopted son, and he's mostly doing his own thing. He has no interest in Lupin's legacy. He occasionally works with Meiwaku. (belongs to @whosayscrimedoesntpay )

How do they all tie in with Lupin the Fourth?

Maki has heard the rumors that Naomi is claiming the title of Lupin the Fourth. So on her first heist with her gang, she hacks into a TV channel to make her announcement on her gang's claim on the title - and to issue a challenge to Naomi.

(The TV channel tech guys are panicking.)

Naomi sighs. Not this shit again, he thinks. Before he even has to ask, Hiro's already hacked into the TV channel so Naomi can make his official refutation. No, he is not claiming the title of Lupin the Fourth, never has been, but he would love to meet Maki & co over tea and biscuits, and shit-talk Lupin together have a nice chat among people of the trade.

(The TV tech guys are freaking out, the journalists are overjoyed.)

The TV buzzes. Static flashes. Lupin the Third is hacking into the channel.

(The tech guys are quitting, the journalists are losing their shits.)

"What the hell are you guys doing???" he asks. "You can't be Lupin the Fourth! I'M NOT RETIRED!!!" (Jigen, Goemon and Fujiko are laughing their asses off in the background.)

More static. Rebecca Rosselini appears. "Oh, tesoro, you didn't know? I adopted them! They're all legally Lupins now. Ciao!"

Rebecca logs out, and all hell breaks loose.

A couple of days later, the news come of another guy, in a fox mask, who no one's ever heard of. "I'm Lupin the Fourth," he says.

The media once again lose their shits, and Maki begins preparing an official invitation to duel.

"What the hell are you doing," says Naomi to their cousin, the guy in the fox mask. "You've never cared for Lupin's legacy!"

"Unless it annoys a whole bunch of people," Renjiro replies.

"You are right," says Naomi. "I AM LUPIN THE FOURTH TOO!"

Lupin the Third is blowing a fuse trying to tell everyone he isn't fucking retired, Zenigata and Yata are having a stroke, and Jigen Goemon and Fujiko are 0.5 seconds away from also claiming to be Lupin the Fourth.

In the end, Lupin III snaps and claims he's Lupin the Fourth as well.

I just spent the past half-hour making all my and @whosayscrimedoesntpay 's Lupin III OCs, so here's a quick introduction of our brain children ^^

The Responsible Adults

Holders of the braincells

Yoko Benson (née Jigen). Older sister of Daisuke Jigen, corrupt cop working for the mafia, temporarily Zenigata's assistant. She is short and explosive, and would do anything for her family.

Eli Benson. Yoko's wife, waitress in a burger joint / front for the mafia. She is an absolute ray of sunshine despite her and Yoko's shitty life. Loves making puns, to her wife's great consternation.

The Meiwaku Gang

Thieves and professional gremlins

Naomi Jigen-Benson. Daughter of Yoko and Eli, (former) apprentice of Goemon. She has a life-long passion about samurais and has made it her life goal to become one. She tries to be cool and serious but she's actually a dork. Favorite weapon: bo staff.

Kanako Misuki. Naomi's girlfriend. She's an expert in explosives, chemicals, grenades and anything that goes boom, with a personnality to match. She used to be part of a biker gang. Favorite weapon: grenades.

Hiro Kimura. Childhood friend of Kanako, descendant of a long line of ninjas, whose techniques he has been learning since childhood. He also has a few hacking skills. He is very calm and soft-spoken, but just as willing to cause chaos as the others. Favorite weapon: kunai knives.

Milo Clarke. Hiro's boyfriend, he is the medic of the team. He met Hiro in uni and got roped into his bs. He is very kind and sunshine-y, until you try to hurt his (very capable of defending himself) boyfriend. Favorite weapon: kindness <3 (and brass knuckles). (J's OC)

Camille Prevost. Officially an antiques restorer and art dealer, actually a master forger. She occasionally works with Meiwaku, occasionally against, and occasionally runs away with the loot after replacing it with a fake. Very charming and charismatic, unless you trigger his nerd-mode. Favorite weapon: basic forgery kit (they can hit you on the head with it if needed).

Renjiro Jigen-Ishikawa. Jigen and Goemon's adopted son. He inherited his parents' badassery, proficiency with weapons, and tendancy to cause problems on purpose, and he's full of snark. He helps Meiwaku on occasions. Favourite weapon: knives. (J's OC)

Yoko Jigen's no good, very bad day life

Yoko lost her little "sister" as a teen. Suki got in trouble with the local mafia and disappeared, and several different gangs claimed her murder.

Thirty years later, Yoko's daughter Naomi accidentally kills two gangsters and has to flee the country.

Turns out Yoko's "sister" is not dead and also not a girl, and Naomi will end up studying Bushido under her uncle's boyfriend, giving her mom a heart attack ^^

Btw, I have a fic on how Jigen reunites with his sister (and how it immediately blows up in their faces)! And while I haven't written any story about Naomi, you can find out more about her eventual career as a thief here and here!

💥Lupin III - The Fourth💥

aka "Lupin's extended family bullies him live on TV"

When Maki, Lupin the Third's former apprentice-for-a-week-and-a-half, runs into Ami Enan, she gets an idea: round up all the now grown kids whose lives Lupin stumbled into, and form her own thieving gang.

One visit to Rebecca Rossellini and four adoption forms later, Maki and her band of misfits all legally bear the last name Lupin and are ready to unleash chaos.

Unfortunately for Lupin the Third, who is very much not retired yet, more and more people keep coming out of the woodwork and claiming the title of The Fourth.

Meiwaku - The Geneva Conspiracy

After stealing a fake painting from an auction in Switzerland, the Meiwaku gang is dragged into the search for a mysterious treasure sought-out by the Free-Masons. They uncover forgery after forgery, as the ghost of a mad painter hovers over them all.

💥This movie involves a genius art forger, a chase on skis, a painting made in blood, and canon gays!

The Meiwaku gang is a group of thieves formed by Naomi, Kanako, Hiro and Milo, and their occasional allies.

They are often considered to be the successors of the Lupin Gang, although Naomi refuses that title (especially considering the Lupin Gang is still active).

Naomi is the de-facto leader of the Meiwaku Gang. They have no real hierarchy, but her ties with the Lupin Gang make her the public face of Meiwaku. It would seem she and Hiro are more often than not the brains of the operations.

For the first few years of their career, they wore masks to protect their identities, Naomi being the only one who was openly a criminal. They still wear them occasionally.

Main members:

Naomi Jigen-Benson: swordsman; Canadian. (x)

Mask: a half-mask representing an oni (an ogre from Japanese folklore). It was stolen from an antique samurai armour at the Tokyo National Museum.

Kanako Misuki: explosives expert; Japanese. (x)

Mask: a custom-made gas mask representing an oni. The red color complements Naomi's blue oni.

Hiro Kimura: ninja, hacker, tech expert; Japanese. (x)

Mask: a mask representing a kitsune, a shape-shifting fox from Japanese folklore. Origin unknown.

Milo Clarke: medic, getaway driver; British. (x)

Mask: a smooth white mask with lines like a ceramic repaired with kintsugi. Presumably custom-made.

Recurring allies:

Renjiro Jigen-Ishikawa: conman; Japanese. (x)

Mask: a mask representing a bi-colored fox. Origin unknown.

Camille Prevost: forger, fence; Swiss. (x)

Mask: an antique Nō theater wakaonna mask, stolen from the Yarai Noh Theater in Tokyo.

"Meiwaku" means "trouble" or "annoyance" (allegedly the childhood nickname given to Hiro and Kanako back in their hometown).

🌸⚔️Naomi Jigen-Benson🌸⚔️

Naomi fled her homeland of Canada at 17 after an incident involving two dead gangsters. She went to Japan to seek a master, pursuing her lifelong goal of becoming a samurai. There, she met Goemon Ishikawa. She promptly decided she needed to learn from him, and challenged him to a duel every day first thing in the morning, until he agreed to take her as a student.

She's very passionate and dedicated to her training. She admires Goemon immensely, and would do anything to make him proud.

She's also Jigen's niece, a fact that neither she not Goemon is aware of. Chaos ensues when they finally find out.

After training under Goemon, she works with the Lupin Gang for a while. She later leaves them to form her own thieving gang: Meiwaku.

Naomi hides her chaotic nature behind a serious and hard-working personality. She's very well mannered and usually respectful of the rules... but she's more than ready to cause mayhem if put with the right people.

🏳️‍⚧️Regarding pronouns: Naomi uses she/her for most of her time with Goemon and the Lupin Gang, then comes out as genderfluid and starts using she/he/they after forming the Meiwaku Gang.

Question: for the Meiwaku gang stuff, I’m confused as to who’s related to who. Is the Jigen last name implying they’re the child of canon Jigen? Is the one person with the last name Ishikawa-Jigen the sibling of the first?

Hi, thanks for the ask!

Naomi Jigen-Benson is actually Jigen's niece. She's the daughter of my other OC Yoko , who is Jigen's older sister. Naomi also happens to be Goemon's student, for unrelated reasons.

Renjiro Jigen-Ishikawa is Jigen and Goemon's adopted son, so he's Naomi's cousin. (He's my friend @whosayscrimedoesntpay 's OC)

Lupin III OCs - Yoko Jigen and Eli Benson

Yoko is a police officer and a mole for the mafia. She grew up in the Bronx with her little sister Suki, who disappeared at 17. Yoko got ropped into her family’s mafia connections, got a job in the police, and married Eli Benson, waitress in a fast-food joint slash front for the mafia. Eli is a gentle giant, very kind and supportive, always optimistic despite their shitty life, and she’s Yoko’s whole world. She’s a closeted trans woman, only out to her wife and a few close friends.

Years later, Yoko discovers that her sister is 1) not dead, 2) actually a guy, and 3) dating a man Yoko’s mafia boss wants dead. 

After the whole mafia debacle, Yoko and Eli move to Canada to start their lives over. Eli comes out and starts transitionning, and they have a child, Naomi. Naomi will later become the student of Goemon Ishikawa, aka the man Yoko and Eli sold out to the mafia twenty years earlier. Way to give her parents a heart attack.
