similarly i think that, due to their small size, country trolls don't seem like much of a threat to bigger things on their own. but there's not a single critter in lonesome flats with better endurance, and since trolls are social by nature.... country trolls as the apex predators of lonesome flats basically. but only in groups bc they can be taken out alone.
also i think techno trolls are kinda similar; on their own they're not much and can even be prey to many species, but in groups they ball up, flash their lights, swim in tandem, and can confuse and strip bigger creatures to the bones. living in the ocean may be playing on hard mode but they've evolved for this shit, very few creatures that can fit in techno reef would dare attack a group of techno trolls.
and then,,, funk trolls are kinda giving me giraffe vibes??? like in their prehistory before they started forming societies they climbed trees and used their long necks to reach choice fruits and leaves. but i think they were omnivorous, OR maybe facultative herbivores (mostly eat plant matter but will not pass up free protein when it's needed/available), and like every other troll their social nature lended them an advantage when it came to making meals out of other critters. and maybe they even have really strong kicks like giraffes do!
and then classical,,,,, i'm getting bird vibes, but those are obvious, and bug vibes bc their wings are kinda gossamer,,,,, i think they have a strong instinct for mobbing behaviors against perceived threats (though in modern day i think they tend towards a cultural pressure to be as organized as possible in their mobbing/keep the orchestra in order).
and then rock trolls live in a volcanic area, which means they probably have areas with really fertile soil and areas with a lot of lava, but they otherwise have very strong facultative carnivore vibes to me. they have tough scales/fur/skin and strong bites and might have been ambush predators in their prehistory??? maybe idk i'm just spitballing ideas
and finally.... pop.... i really don't know. i think they probably needed and still do need a lot of sugar in their diets, which they can easily get from nectar and fruit and the like. and though the forest we see in canon isn't exactly like a humid jungle it still gives me wild jungle vibes so i think they rely very much on their hair to get around and attack prey & predators. i think other tribes also rely on their hair but pop trolls use theirs the most/are adept at personal camouflage. i also think that even pre-bergen pop trolls were never really at the top of the food train. only country and rock are towards the top (and possibly funk) of the food webs in their native ecosystems
Tumblr media
This is very interesting anon!!! Also as someone who has spent their whole lives in the pacific northwest the troll forest personally gives me temperat rainforest vibes but thats just meeeeee

Los Lobos at Midland Theatre, Newark, Ohio, July 14, 2023
Fifty years into their career, Los Lobos are still David Hidlago, Louie Pérez, Conrad Lozano, Cesar Rosas and Steve Berlin.
And they are still, on any given night, the best live band in America.*
On July 14 at Newark, Ohio’s, Midland Theatre, the band made the case again and again across a 100-minute set whose 22 songs spanned their recording career from 1984’s “Will the Wolf Survive” through tracks from 2021’s Native Sons (the grinding, 1950’s rock ’n’ roll of “Flat Top Joint” being the highlight) with covers of the Grateful Dead, Neil Young and, of course, Ritchie Valens thrown in for good measure.
Berlin - who played keys, woodwinds and percussion - joined in 1982. Hidalgo (guitar, accordion), Pérez (guitar, jarana, drums), Lozano (bass) and Rosas (southpaw guitar) - have been around since 1973. And with touring drummer Alfredo Ortiz finding his place since joining in 2021, the band is as tight as only a group of musicians who’ve played together for so long can be.
They came out hot, with Hidalgo singing the jangly “One Time, One Night,” followed by Rosas on the bluesy “Wicked Rain.” And it was immediately clear that though their hair is whiter and thinner and Lozano spends a portion of the show seated on his amp, Los Lobos are having as much fun as ever as the Wolves smiled at one another, interacted with the crowd of what Rosas calls “music lovers,” and cued solos with eye contact and the swiping of arms.
So it went that a funked-up version of the Dead’s “West L.A. Fadeaway” included an electrifying interlude of solos that moved from Hidalgo and Pérez’s guitars to Berlin’s baritone saxophone and back to Rosas’ grimy axe. Hidalgo sung this one - which Rosas dedicated to “all of Jerry’s kids” - along with the audience-singalong “Not Fade Away” -> “Bertha” which came later and found Hidalgo and Pérez playing in six-string harmony a la the Allman Brothers.
While “La Bamba,” as is usually the case, came last (with the Rascals’ “Good Lovin’” slipped inside), the Wolves had previously nodded to their platinum era with an exhilarating reading of Valens’ “Come On, Let’s Go” that kept the half-full house, much of which was on its feet for “Chuco’s Cumbia,” dancing like no one was watching.
Hidalgo, whose high tenor remains virtually unchanged, strapped on the squeezebox for a sinewy and spooky rendition of “Kiko and the Lavender Moon,” sung in harmony with Rosas. And then, as the band looked back to their days playing weddings in East Los Angeles, Pérez took his old place behind the kit for a bit of Spanish polka.
There was a jazzy break - and an opportunity for Berlin to really work the baritone sax - amid a chunky reading of “The Neighborhood” as the band and audience sung together: Thank you lord for another day, help my brother along his way/please bring peace to the neighborhood.
And Lobos meant it.
Returning for the encore, Hidalgo and Pérez, who turned in a blazing guitar solo, sung Young’s “Cinnamon Girl” together to fill a fan’s request. And when the aforementioned “La Bamba” ended, Lozano flashed a peace sign as he stopped to the mic to give the audience the band’s parting message:
“Be safe.”
*Los Lobos were so good last night, Sound Bites is heading to Lakeside for tonight’s gig.

Hello! I saw that your matchups are open, can i ask one? 👉👈 If you don't want to, that's fine!! :)
Uh, well I'm a Brazilian girl, I'm 5'6" tall, I have an hourglass body shape (here this is how we say body shape, this shape is also called "guitar body") and skinny. My hair is brown and wavy, its roots are straight, and the ends are curly, I have two red strands in the front, and two in the back (similar to joey jordison). My eyes are hazel, and they say my face resembles a doll's, I don't know why (maybe it's because my face shape is round and I have chubby cheeks, my eyes are half doe eyes and a slightly fleshy mouth.)
I like horror movies, slashers, vampires, music (funk and goth songs), stories, makeup, taking pictures, being horny (joke), and so on. I'm goth and I love my subculture, but besides goth music, I like glam metal, black metal, heavy metal, death metal, nu metal, emo, grunge, international phonks and funks from my country (MTG, ela me m4mou na rua, vem comigo fazendo hey how, set 2k800).
My MBTI is ENFP and my love language is physical touch and words of affirmation, so I'm very needy and clingy with the ones I love, I'm always giving kisses and hugs, showing happiness, I'm terrified of blood and the dark (ironic, no ?) I like to hear people vent about their problems and give genuine advice. But I'm very attached, I don't see much of my partner's flaws, and because of that I'm very manipulable without realizing it, it's too late to realize and get out of a toxic relationship :( but the cool thing is that I get nervous and curse the slasher in my native language 🤠
"[slasher] VOLTA AQUI SEU ARROMBADO!!" "[slasher] GET BACK HERE YOU BREAKDOWN!!"
"SEU FILHO DA PUTA [slasher] DEVOLVE O MEU PEDAÇO DE BOLO!" "YOU FUCKER [slasher] RETURN MY PIECE OF CAKE!"
"[slasher] SENTA O CU NA CADEIRA!" "[slasher] SIT YOUR ASS ON THE CHAIR!"
Sorry, it was too long and my english is bad :(

♡your perfect slasher match the is the man himself ; billy loomis. while he’s a bit insane and blood thirsty he’ll save a spot on his cold heart just for you.
♡billy loves how cute you are, not that it would change his opinion on you but he just adores squeezing your cheeks and picking you up. he loves it when you’re angry because
♡you two have a similar taste in clothing and music. death metal is his favorite!! at first he only listened to it to annoy his father but he’s grown to love it. all forms of rock and metal >>. there are so many branches of the genre so he’s always down for something new. he will always make fun of it at first but sooner or later you’ll catch him listening to it. he’s just a stubborn sob.
♡billy will get a bit annoyed if you’re too clingy but he’s a sucker for you he can only resist you for so long. he secretly love shaving you on his arm especially in crowds. he LOVES
♡most of your dates revolve around horror movies. he doesn’t much like to go out.
♡he will be scaring you a lot after you reveal your fears to him. he will be popping out of dark corners , covering himself in fake blood, flashing the lights on and off all to get a reaction. if you get too upset he’ll stop but only for a bit. he loves you but having that power over you is essential.
♡if he is EVER out of line it’s a good thing you’re there to put him in his place. he needs a stern woman in the house with him.
♡billy is a bit toxic and will manipulate you if needed. if you aren’t doing things the way he likes it he’ll convince you that you’re making him sad and get you to do better. he has no problem using his charm on you.
♡as a caucasian man he will be very curious about your culture and where you come from. he thinks it’s a bit weird you don’t do things like people in this country but he grows to appreciate it eventually.
♡he will complain like a bitch if you ever ask to do his makeup but how can he resist those eyes ? just don’t make him wear it out in public okay ?
♡photography is a cool. on the off chance he ever lets you in on his little secret of him being ghost face he’ll have you take pictures of him with the bodies and in the costumes. or maybe you’ll just edit them since you don’t like blood. knowing billy he will most likely force you to take the photos anyway.
♡he’s very protective of you. he doesn’t like it when you’re alone with stu because he knows how unpredictable he can be sometimes. he always keeps an eye on you. if you see little red lights blinking in your house it’s just billy.
♡oh how billy loves you. he could never kill you, you’re his final girl <3

Boom Bap !!!!
Tumblr media
Picture : https://soundcloud.com/crank-lucas/boom-bap
Boom bap is a genre of hip-hop music that originated on the East Coast of the United States in the 1980s. The onomatopoeic sound of a kick drum and snare, which are the dominant elements of the music, is referred to as "boom bap". Boom bap productions feature precisely sliced drums programmed with swing quantization for a funky effect, rather than the full-on breakbeats of hip hop in the late 1980s. Producers from this era, such as Pete Rock, DJ Premier and J Dilla, are considered some of the most innovative when it comes to creative sampling. Their work has had a huge influence on hip hop and other sample-based genres. The album Return of the Boom-bap by Krs-One and artists signed to the Duck Down record label are some notable examples of boom-bap music. The phrase "With a kick, snare, kicks and high hat, Skilled in the trade of that old boom bap" is originally from the A Tribe Called Quest song "We Can Get Down". Boom bap has had a lasting impact on the culture of hip hop and continues to be a prominent style within the genre.

Boom Bap is a term used to describe a style of jazzy East Coast hip-hop from the "golden age" of the genre. According to KRS One, the term was first heard in T La Rock's 1984 song "It's Yours." Around the 3:53 mark, you can hear T La Rock sing "boom, bap, boom-boom bap," with "boom" representing the sound of the kick drum and "bap" representing the sound of the snare drum.
In addition, DJ Premier shared a story in which Grandmaster Flash told him that if it's hip-hop, it has to be "boom, bap, boom-boom bap." This emphasizes how the concept of Boom Bap imitates the sounds of drums and highlights the energy and impact of the kick and snare drums in hip-hop music.

Beats/Rhythm
The rhythm of Boom Bap reflects the sounds of the streets and is often sampled from breakbeats that formed the basis of Hip Hop music in the 1970s. Typically, the producers will sample the part of the breakbeat that doesn't have vocals in between the funk and soul music and loop it to make it a part of the Boom Bap song. Additionally, sometimes producers will layer different drum sets from different songs to create a louder drum sound.
Vocal
As there is usually no melody or singing in these songs, rap is one of the main focuses. Rap originated from the MCs in the early Hip Hop culture, who used wordplay, metaphors, multisyllabic rhyme, or boasting techniques to showcase their abilities. In addition, many rappers use their songs to express their ideas, such as Public Enemy and Paris, who focus on creating politically and socially conscious music, while Native Tongues explores African-American culture and self-awareness.
Scratch
Scratching is a technique of producing rhythmic sounds or beats by moving a record back and forth on a turntable, and the crossfader on a mixer can be used to gradually fade in and out between two turntables. In Hip Hop culture, scratching is a standard for measuring DJ skills. The sound of scratching is prevalent in Boom Bap music, and there's no one better known for it than DJ Premier.
Sample
When producing Boom Bap music, producers typically use samplers or music production software to sample various sounds from funk, jazz, and soul music, such as rhythms, melodies, vocals, or even a dialogue or shout. In 1988, the first Akai MPC was introduced, which was an affordable sampler with an intuitive interface that made it easier for more people to access the art of sampling.
