Ok, let's talk about Smeyer's representation of the indigenous people in Twilight; more specifically, their hair.

Hair is a massive part of Native culture, it is believed that hair connects them to their ancestors, they grow their hair long to honour their ancestors, Native Americans braid their hair because the three strands represent Mind, Body and Soul.

Hair is a huge source of cultural pride, most Native Americans never cut their hair (apart from trims) unless they've been forced to; Native American boys who went to white-founded/run schools were often forced to cut their hair- it's a sign of oppression and prejudice.

So here we get to the crux of the matter: Smeyer having all the La Push boys chop off their hair, practically shave it, and it's never mentioned (apart from Jacob's "uhh yeah wolfy hair uhh yeah short is good" bullshit)??? No bitch, that's not how that would go!!!! Them basically chopping off their hair on a whim? Because of Smeyer's stupid "hair is fur blah blah blah" lore?
