post season 1 lost character rankings <3 post is about to be long as fuck btw. heart
jack… i’m such a jack girl sorry for being predictable but he’s exactly my type of character… he has a hero complex and big brown eyes filled with tears he can’t save everyone but he has to try…
kate of course!!! blueprint for emma swan in many ways…. the coolest girl on lost island… her cunty 2000s layered tank tops and low rise bootcut jeans in exodus went crazy also but that is neither here nor there i just didn’t get a chance to mention it before. anyway. literally you always wanna run away katie!!!
sayid <3 THE it girl of lost island. he’s like if The Smart One was a heartthrob. you knowwww i’ve always been a sayid girl (ok yes naveen andrews was in ouat but my love for sayid is only like. 40% coming from that loyalty ok) he’s so. he’s the tech guy he’s the soldier he’s leading hikes he’s triangulating the signal he’s sooo kind he’s obsessed with the worst woman on the island he’s literally besties with kate he looks SO GOOD in his tank tops and i love him…
claire and YES i will acknowledge my emilie de ravin bias. it doesn’t matter what claire as a character is like, that’s my friend belle from the tv from middle school, we were in the trenches together, i love her always, claire makes the top five and that’s FINAL. peace and love <3 also she’s like basically mary from the bible for real
sun… she’s just cool and nice and lovely and her husband suckssss but she loves him and wants him to love her like he used to and she’s growing a garden and helping jack with medicinal stuff and everybody likes her cuz she’s just cool and nice!!!
shannon. and i ask you. did she really do anything wrong? don’t answer that. i’m a feminist. she’s like. there is flop in her slay eras and slay in her flop eras. and she’s soooo sad right now and she needs to keep all of her brother’s things because she doesn’t know how to exist in the world without him and she’s folding his old clothes because she’s anal and she speaks french but only barely because she knew this guy and she wants to help but she’s been a princess her whole life and she doesn’t know how to change but she has to and she’s maybe overcommitted to her zigzag hair part because she thinks beauty is her only currency and now she’s taking care of this kid’s dog because he picked her because he thought it would help her and she won’t say it but she loves these people so much and she doesn’t know how to show it and she doesn’t know what she’s doing and she doesn’t know how to carry it all!!!!!!!! i’m normal about her.
charlie has consistently been a favorite of mine but i’m just anticipating the inevitable season 2 heroin relapse storyline and i hateeeee it. but i do love charlie <3 i like how he has this insane devotion to claire for no reason other than he just wants to be nice and help her. he’s just a lovely guy…
walt and his cute little kid swagggg. his henry mills realness seriously. he’s about to be like. severely written out rip but we LOVED him here <3 when he gave his dog to shannon…. oh my god….
boone gets to not be near the bottom even though he was a total freak because well. no one else gave me joke material like him… he fucked that old man fr…. and then he died… and frankly those episodes on his death and leading up to it were so crazy i can’t not just forgive him for the freak shit. sorry for being an apologist for the guy who was in love with his sister. i mean be real though i’m a cassie girl i’m predisposed to forgive worse shit like that. maybe he only projected love onto her because she’s the only woman he knows. and he’s gay. idk. it doesn’t matter anyway who cares
jin. i actually kind of like jin now i like his dynamic with michael a lot and i think in season two he’ll get over the whole oh boohoo poor me i got roped into the mafia and i can’t tell my wife even though it would be good for our relationship to not have secrets. i forgive him. i hope michael or someone else tries to learn korean to better communicate with him though i don’t just want it to be jin having to learn english. like don’t act like michael wouldn’t try at least…
which of course brings us to michael. i like michael but he’s also kind of just not as interesting as the other characters. i imagine though that the 2004 writers room was overwhelmingly white and therefore just did not do as well writing the characters of color, so i’ll grant michael that forgiveness. i do like him i think the situation with walt is crazytown
hurley. not even my ouat bias could save hurley from being third to last. i don’t have a problem with him it’s just. he’s the comedic relief yk. and he IS funny, but like. idk. kinda like what’s going on with him and the numbers i hope that gets cool in s2
locke. booooo locke. an enemy of jack’s is an enemy of mine!! we’re gonna have a locke problem!! also i’m literally still upset about how he handled the boone situation. imagine you have trauma from your dad hurting you to help himself and then you meet a younger guy who looks up to you as a sort of father/mentor figure and you end up hurting him to help yourself and you have zero self awareness about it. kill yourself old man. your ass is not breaking the cycle.
sawyer. just. ….😒 remember when shannon was having an asthma attack and could have died and sawyer made it seem like he had her inhaler and told kate he’d give it to her if she kissed him. which is already icky. and then kate did it. and then he was like oh yeah btw i don’t have the inhaler haha! like. can you kill yourself.
and if i were asked to name my favorite episodes of the season? well most recently i loved do no harm, but all jack’s episodes were great to me so also white rabbit and all the best cowboys have daddy issues. and deus ex machina was crazy as well. and the moth. and exodus part one specifically but all three parts were pretty great too. born to run was also good! and can i be frank. can i say something we might not like. hearts and minds was a great episode… yes it’s the incest episode i know i was there… but speaking from a standpoint of like. what makes a tv episode a Good TV Episode, it kinda went crazy. i mean did we see the twist coming? for sure not! that’s tv! sometimes the point of tv is to make you go 😟 and well. hearts and minds did that…

“I didn’t think of it as lying. I thought of it as...providing motivation.”
About A drabble that narrates the story of OUAT’s DarlingPan of how I think Peter Pan could have returned to Once Upon A Time - excluding the Wishing Realm and the Underworld. Please don’t pay too much attention to how Wendy came to possess Pandora’s Box (details, details, right?). I’ll leave that to your imagination.
Summary Trapped in Pandora’s Box, Peter Pan is released by none other than Wendy. When he asks about Felix, she retells her conversation with the curly fair-haired boy back in Neverland...
Wide brown eyes darted all around; lips thrusted heavy, panting breaths out into the breeze. Green Pine trees danced and waved in the wind’s breath. It was a typical, fairly temperate Spring day; the air was neither cold nor hot, the sun neither too bright nor too dim. It wasn’t cold enough to wear a woollen peacoat, but it wasn’t warm enough to don a flimsy cardigan and t-shirt either.
Finally, pounding feet ceased in the middle, directly opposite a fairly steep bank. Once the pupils had observed the woods were completely and utterly empty of human life (except from herself, of course), the honey-brown haired girl with untameable locks attempted to calm her breathing as she lowered her hand holding the small wooden box to the ground. The box stable on the woodland floor, the girl lifted the lid before taking a step back and straightening her spine like the queen she once was. Her eyes stared at the open box, waiting in anticipation as blood red smoke slowly glided out and away from the square box, hopefully carrying someone with it.
Gradually, the last of the thick red smoke abandoned the box before it started to fade.
The girl’s heart picked up pace. It was fading, but there was still no sign of a body; no green, no brown, no skin.
Just as she was beginning to lose hope, believing she’d failed, that she’d failed him, a body did appear – just as the smoke faded to nothing more than a thin sheet of fog. Pale skin like her own, mud-brown hair, forest-green eyes, a mixture of brown and green clothing…
The cloud of red smoke disappeared completely, leaving behind a boy that was just pushing himself up onto his feet from his knees. He looked around, looking slightly baffled, but ready to fight if he needed, until his eyes – eyes that never failed to ensnare – fell upon her. His soulmate, his queen. “Bird?” he asked with a puzzled, raised eyebrow.
Unable to contain her excitement, her relief that her plan had worked and she was finally able to reunite with him, her king, once more, Wendy bit her lip, nodding furiously before rushing into his arms.
Despite the questions kicking up a storm in his mind, Peter wrapped his arms around her and inhaled her scent. It had been far too long since he’d been able to do that: to hold her. The questions could wait. He wanted to enjoy this moment.
“It’s really you,” she said softly.
Admittedly, not many words were exchanged between them in that moment. But words were not needed. They had been together long enough to know what ran through the other’s mind. Over a century together, to be exact. And both believed their embrace spoke more than a thousand words ever could.
Eventually, they pulled apart, although their hands were still in each other’s grasp. As Wendy looked into his eyes, she understood the questions his green irises spoke as well as the love hers undoubtedly shared with them, and she was more than willing to answer any questions he had. “What happened, Bird? What happened after-” “It all went according to plan, Peter.” “To plan?” Wendy nodded enthusiastically. “What about Felix?” he asked with uncertainty, the memory of his all-too-arrogant self, once again not ensuring his plan was flawless, ripping the heart right from his second-in-command’s, his friend’s, chest and crushing it in his fingertips still too fresh to acknowledge completely. The smile faded on her lips. Despite knowing the truth, she knew it was a touchy subject and had to tread lightly. After all, those boys had been more than leader and second-in-command, more than friends, throughout their companionship. They had been brothers. “It’s a long story, but he’s alive, Peter,” she promised him reassuringly. “Wha…how?”
And then it was Wendy’s time to explain. How she had made his plan flawless…
There the Queen, the Mother of Neverland, the Neverbird, stood, waiting in the dark of the small clearing for her king’s most trusted second-in-command to arrive. It was perfect for a secret meaning; both the evening sky and the ground were shielded from prying eyes by the trees packed in closely together.
All of a sudden, leaves swept in through the gaps in the trees, brushing against the tips and sides of Wendy’s boots: a sign that the King was suspicious, irked, but not aware. She gripped the sides of her lilac cloak tighter. A queen could feel wary, but never show weakness. Especially not when meeting someone with the purpose she had with one of the Lost Boys tonight.
Finally, her ears twitched to a soft crunch from up ahead. But, her eyes narrowed when a soft amber glow filled the narrow path carved by the trees. He’d brought a torch, foolish boy. Once the boy whose face was hidden in the shadows of his brown cloak reached the clearing, halting directly opposite his queen, he drew back his hood, revealing a boy with silvery-grey eyes and a thin red scar running from the bottom of his right cheek to just above the bridge of his nose. Felix.
“What in Neverland do you think you’re doing?” she hissed. “What?” he asked, confused. She rolled her eyes. “The torch. Why did you bring it? I thought I told you this is a secret meeting – do you want to get us caught?” “Well, I needed to…” Just as Felix weakly attempted to defend himself, Wendy rolled her eyes once more before lifting her hand and flipping it over so her palm faced the sky, making a ball of dim flame ignite in the centre of her palm. Dumbfounded, the Lost Boy swiftly put the torch out.
Now they could get down to business.
“I went to a Seer when I left with Peter last week,” Wendy began. “She told me he will rip out your heart in a new land created by a curse – a very powerful, dark one at that – to help him in his quest to save Neverland. So, I have an idea…” She trailed off, lifting her free hand up to Felix, conjuring her idea. A heart. “With a different heart inside you, you can’t die when he rips it out of your chest.” “Why?” “Because I know Peter. He’ll regret it after, but he has no choice; Neverland thrives off belief and, at this moment in time, the only way to regain that belief is through showing the threat we Neverlanders can pose. I want him to be able to see you there when he is rescued from the prison he’s destined to be trapped in. You’re not just his second-in-command, Felix.” “Whose heart is that?” he asked curiously. “Oh, I had it made with magic. That way, no one gets hurt. So, are you in?”
Felix looked on thoughtfully. It all sounded very mysterious to him, but he could see the truth in what his queen was saying. After all, she had indeed accompanied Pan on one of his errands to another realm. And she always did like to plan ahead of time. So, although still a little doubtful, he gave a reluctant nod.
Once he saw the look in Wendy’s eyes, the clenching of her jaw as she jutted her chin out slightly, he braced himself for the short but intense pain that was about to come. In one quick motion so he’d feel as little pain as possible, Wendy plunged her hand into his chest, wrapped her fingers around his heart and yanked it out of his chest, careful not to squeeze it, and replaced it with the fake heart.
The deed was done. Her own backup plan was in motion.
Peter just stared, eyes full of bewilderment, admiration and a slight hint of irritation.
Finally, he admitted, “I’m not sure if I’m annoyed you did that behind my back, or proud with what you planned.” Wendy shrugged. “I did what I thought was best for you, us, Neverland…I never once thought of it as lying. I thought of it as…providing motivation,” she said, mimicking the words he’d spoken when she felt unsure after tricking Henry. He was still a boy, and she was still a mother at heart. He smirked, now sure he felt nothing but pride for his queen.
As Peter slid his arm around her shoulders, he asked, “So…where to now, my queen?” “Neverland,” she declared.
Author’s Note:  So, how did you like this one-shot? I’m sorry the ending’s a little messy, but let me explain: Felix will be meeting them on the way back to Neverland (don’t forget, they still need to find a portal).
You might have noticed some of the actual OUAT lines and references I snuck in. They just came to me as I was typing.
If you enjoyed this fanfic, please click/tap on the heart button, or re-post this story and credit me. Before you go...another DarlingPan one-shot is in the making. Stay tuned.

Thank you for your additions to the Chloe post. I didn't know how to word my reservations about a redemption arc for her and then you did it.
pffffffffffffffffffffff
i’m not saying it can’t be done, but i don’t think ml has the scope or the skill to handle it well — and it really feels like every show lately subverts/plays with their alpha bitch trope? (or at least the ones i’ve seen lately: gravity falls, dude that’s my ghost, spectacular spiderman, ouat, teen wolf, etcetcetc — even bonnie from kim possible and diamond tiara from mlp had their moments, iirc)
idk, at this point i’d really like to see the bitch character played straight, and chloe’s...
tbh chloe’s kind of flat. she does things because the writers want her to do things, and 99% of the time, the writers want someone to get akumatized. that kind of fits her into the narcissist model pretty cleanly — her reasons given don’t need to be any deeper than ‘she wanted to’ and ‘but other people didn’t do what she wanted.’
it’s not that she’s completely incapable of caring — she probably cares about ladybug, andre, sabrina, and adrien to some extent — it’s that their needs and emotions don’t blip on her radar. (they don’t need to, because she’s more of a plot device than a character, but in the context of the argument...)
she’s just a teenage girl, but even as a teenage girl, that’s a huge amount of innate empathy to lack.
teenage girls (all teenagers and young adults, really, in my experience) tend to get wrapped up in their own emotions and problems and do tend to place those emotions and problems as higher priority than anyone else’s, but even then most of them could look at their sobbing best friend and say ‘shit man you’re not feeling so good today, i’d better lay off.’
like. they might not know quite how to lay off, or how they react might not help, but generally seeing someone they care about display a strong emotion tends to garner a reaction of some sort.
chloe, as far as i’ve seen, doesn’t react. as far as i’ve seen, nobody’s ‘human’ to chloe except chloe.
‘well, she could’ve learned that behavior from her mother’ falls really flat to me because i know people who were trained like that — my grandmother and my sister’s bio mother especially were really frickin awful people — and it fucked them up but it didn’t kill their empathy.
now, my brother’s friend — an aspie in a similar situation — was pretty chloe-like.
—right up until he got out of his abusive home life and had the energy and peer pressure to be nice again.
but chloe isn’t being abused. at worst, she’s neglected. she could be looking for validation, but she goes to school (and has been for at least four years) and she’s surrounded by examples of how to get that validation without hurting people, and she seems to neither notice nor use any of them.
and i’m pretty sure it’s because she doesn’t realize she needs to; nobody’s ‘human’ to chloe except chloe, and that’s... well, i’m pretty sure that’s the definition of narcissism.
(as a side-note: she doesn’t really seem to be looking for validation either — her reactions and self-respect seem to be static no matter how people react to her. she’s the subject of everything from frustration (marinette), tolerance to gentle censure and rejection (adrien), pure rejection (ladybug), coddling and affection (her father), adoration to hatred (kim/dark cupid), pure adoration (sabrina), pure censure (alya) — right down to actual killing intent (evillustrator) — and chloe remains just as sure of herself as she started out.)
TL;DR right now chloe’s a plot device with narcissistic patterns, and i don’t really see how a show like ml could pull off a decent redemption arc in the format that it uses. also i’ve had a void of unabashedly bitchy antagonist characters and would appreciate this one staying that way.

Working Wednesday
Here is the state of my current WIPs.
The Library Beneath the Clock Tower: AU Cursed Storybrooke. (Inspried by/based on The Bookshop on the Corner: A Novel, by Jenny Colgan)
Storybrooke has no library, and neither does Belle, not since the library where she worked in Boston discovered her past as an inpatient at a mental hospital. Taking her future into her own hands, Belle travels to Storybrooke where her intention is to open up the town library, but all does not go according to her plan. Obstacles and false starts, and diversion along very wrong pathways interrupt her journey toward fulfilling her dream, as well as taking her rightful place and becoming a part of the Storybrooke community. -  This was my Camp NaNoWriMo project and I have a few chapters in hand waiting to be edited and posted. Chapter 23 has been posted
All Our Past Mistakes: AU Non-Cursed Storybrooke
Doctor Gold, professor of history at the local campus of Maine University, is stuck in a loveless, and one might say abusive relationship with a wife who is less than attentive to their family, and whom he suspects cares little for her marital vows. His resolve to maintain his own faithfulness is sorely tested by the presence of one of his new students - a junior by the name of Belle French - whom it seems fate is determined to put in his way. The two become embroiled in a passionate, and redemptive relationship, but not before suffering numerous setbacks and separations. This is no instantaneous happy ever after, but a tale of two hurt souls finding their way together through darkness and despair. - Chapter 7 has been posted.
Disparate Pathways: AU and Remix of Witness Protection, which was written for the 2019 RSS.
Gold has a past, a past that he has rejected, but it seems one that will not let him go. Belle, daughter of Governor Maurice French has been kidnapped, along with her mother, and just as the authorities raid the organization that is holding her hostage, decides to make her own bid for freedom, unknowingly derailing an undercover sting, and Agent Milnor has not choice but to take her into ‘protective custody,’ but is he all that he seems? As the threads of the story grow more tangled and the threat to Belle, and to Gold, her appointed protector, grow ever more real, a growing, mutual attraction makes everything far more desperate and far too personal for Gold to ignore what he knows to be the truth. - nothing written since last week.
Scattered: AU OUAT, where the curse didn’t quite happen the way it did on the show. (It went ‘wrong’)
Casting a spell, any spell - at least the ones that involve more than just the wave of a hand, or worse, the wave of an irritating fairy’s wand - takes time, and patience, and the right ingredients, and… just like any recipe, if you get it wrong, it doesn’t mean the cake won’t cook, rather then will, just with unexpected or unintended outcomes. All of Rumplestiltskin’s careful planning and manipulation, all of his hopes and dreams turn to dust; ashes in his bitter heart in the blink of an eye… in the fall of an equine heart. Belle exchanges one terrible prison for another, and it’s one she is desperate to escape, and though Rumple’s fate as The Savior was severed from him centuries ago, sometimes fate itself has a way of finding an alternate route home. - 1667 words written
What the Actual Fuck! : Sutherelle fic
Prime Minister Robert Sutherland is feeling pressured, and isn’t prepared to acquiesce to the repeated challenges from within his cabinet nor the wider circle of those around him. He resorts to drastic measures to ascertain who can be trusted, turning to an ‘old friend’ to help him separate the wheat from the chaff. Said friend promises to send in his best operative to assist the PM, the trouble is the operative finds out more than Robert necessarily wants to know, and all this just as all hell is breaking loose around him; people hurt, Britain in chaos and multiple deaths push him into making some hard hitting decisions in order to safeguard himself, the country, and the people he cares about - Nothing written since last week.
Breathe: Rushbelle. As the Lucian Alliance attack Icarus Base, Doctor Rush makes the decision that dialing back to Earth is too dangerous, though that may not at all be his reason for attempting to dial the ninth chevron, persuaded by Eli, and by something Belle had said to him previously, he substitues Earth for Icarus, and the connection is made. In spite of hurrying to urge Belle to the ‘Gate room and through the ‘Gate, neither he, nor anyone else believes that Belle actually made it on board Destiny…  - Part one of the We Three series. 374 words of the next chapter have been written
Beauty Compelled: Rumbelle. May A Monthly Rumbelling - Unable to pay his debt to the much feared landowner, Mister Gold, Maurice French promises the man his daughters hand in marriage, a deal to be fulfilled once the girl in question turns eighteen. One the morning of her birthday, Belle receives a letter, reminding her that his carriage will call for her that afternoon to bring her to her new home, where she will spend the rest of her life.  2,768 words written
Also, I still have 2 series awaiting their next works: Darker Hearts: an AU Wish!Rumbelle, and Thoughts On A Happy Ending: A Rumblelle focussed Belle introspective of the entire journey from season 1 through season 7. Nothing has been written for either just yet, so no change since the last update, but they are included in the writing schedule so maybe that will change.
All published works can be found on AO3 where I write as Eilinelithil.
Please feel free to ask me questions, anonymous asks accepted, I’ll talk about most things if you ask. If you want to ask the characters anything, you can do that too! You can also prompt me if you wish.
