So my au is essentially if you turned all the sonic characters into gods that are part of a mythology. It's centered around Mephiles and Neos relationship but im gonna get the creation myth of my au out of the way first.

It starts with the chaos emeralds which are lumped together into one primordial being called Khaos (I couldn't help myself greek myths are some of my favourite) which created the universe, the planet (which is just gonna be Mobius because Earth is kinda lame and the au is called gods of mobius) and humans. But since humans tend to do some bad stuff Khaos creates the underworld and a psychopomp to guide souls of humans and animals there.

(That psychopomp is Neo btw he's essentially a death god in this (also because irl there's a correlation of symbolism between the grim reaper and time but more on that later.))

The underworld is a salt river. Souls that are unable or undeserving to move on cant stay afloat and sink to the bottom of the river, where they endure trials and punishments by the demons that guard the underworld, until their souls get light enough to float on top of the water and they get carried to the end of the river to be reincarnated.

Back to Khaos. One day, Khaos gets to ambitious in his creations and creates Solaris out of most of his own essence. He's proud of creating Solaris at first, but he soon realises how powerful he is and fears he's gonna replace him as a creator and god and he's gonna lose worship of the humans. So he ambushes Solaris and tries to kill him. Their ensulting battle terraforms Mobius, raising the land and Khaos' presence filling the Valleys with water, creating giant oceans.

(On a sidenote, I wanted Khaos to have a connection to water, both because of the chaos from sa1, but also because in egyptian myth the vastness of space was a giant ocean, which i feel is fitting for a primordial god, especally because Khaos would end up becoming the night sky.)

During their battle, Khaos uses most of his power to split Solaris into Iblis and Mephiles, but in the process he fractures and and gets scatered across the sky becoming the stars and moon. Iblis is very unhappy with this predicament and in his rage proceeds to chase Khaos' fragments across the sky with him turning into the sun to create the day night cycle and leaving his other half behind to cope with the pain of the split on his own.

(This was inspired by an aztec myth in which the stars and moon chase the sun because it got them killed. Also the moon is a severed head don't ask.)

Some of Khaos fragments fall back to Mobius and create the other gods upon touching the ground (like Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, Tails etc). Mephiles is essentially the last remnant of Khaos power on Mobius so he is unofficaly recognised by the humans to be the leader of the new pantheon of gods which neither Mephiles nor the other gods are particularly keen on.

Now, onto Metalphiles and their copious amount of symbolism.

Neo is a death god/psychopomp because of that one sonic dash halloween skin, which I made a Neo design for and it kinda spiraled into this au. (whoops)

Mephiles is still mostly a time god in this au, but i gave him a sickle in his design, despite it being an agricultural tool. This is because I was inspired by the greek deity Chronos, who was originally a god of agriculture, but was later reinterpreted by the romans to be a time god because of the similarity of his name to the greek word for time (Kronos).

Funnily enough, this ties back to Neo because the grim reaper is also depicted with agricultural tools because of Chronos (/"father time") and his interpretation as a time deity. As a result of this, the hourglass also became a symbol for the reaper.

(This is why in my au they gift eachother a sickle and an hourglass respectively, because their real life inspirations for this au exchanged such symbols throughout their history and I wanted to include that somehow :)

So like. Sonic 06 thoughts right.

There is a way to salvage the whole Silver's timeline/Blaze's origin kerfuffle. It's an easy fix too. Everyone just kind of assumes Blaze and Silver grew up with each other in the '06 timeline in Crisis City but I dont think this is the case.

Blaze has been shown ever since her debut in Rush to be summoned at the exact place and time she's needed to be by the Sol Emeralds - a power the Chaos Emeralds also have as seen in Rush Adventure. In Rush, she's brought to Sonic's world in pursuit of her stolen Emeralds (with a power presumably given to her by the emeralds), and similarly in early IDW, she's brought to Sonic's dimension in order to stop Neo-Metal from reviving the Eggman Empire.

So what if Blaze isn't native to Crisis City and was brought there by the Sol Emeralds to help Silver save the future? Especially if there's a potential risk Solaris could destroy her dimension too. She recognises Sonic when she ponders on "blue hedgehog" and knows what the chaos emeralds are and what they do. It also explains why her design hasn't changed at all between appearances.

Who knows how long Blaze had been there, if she's aware she's in the future (nevermind Sonic's future) or if the Sol Emeralds are still in her own dimension. She could very well have been trapped, relying on Silver as much as he relies on her. She might have believed that when she was being sealed in another dimension, she would never go home again, only to end up on her doorstep.

Say while she was gone, Eggman Nega sneaks in and nabs the jewelled scepter and boom you even have a build up for Rush Adventure.

Context under cut:

After Silver reignited the multiverse after believing everyone the lost during the Genius wipe (The Kendering) and Neo killing the Dragon King of Espio's homeland, After Silver absorbed alot of its Energy. Leaving him Drained and exhausted.

During Espio and Silver's birthday party, the Continuity hit their timeline. Sending our Heros into the void.

Coming face to face with a nearly full power Mephilies. Silver is in no condition to fight, Shadow, Sonic, Blaze, and Espio all attempt to handle the big bad. Mephilies is trying to get Iblis from the Sol Emeralds that Blaze is holding.

Sonic Knocks Blaze far into the void to be able to keep iblis from Mephilies.

Espio is the first to go down. Getting shot through the chest with the end of time blade that once killed Sonic and getting his limp nearly dead body flung through a time portal. (To Silver's childhood).

Sonic and Shadow now are on the battle field and while they are not doing much damage. When they go to use a combined attack they both get flung into a portal. Sonic gets sent to Shadow's childhood and Shadow to Sonic's.

Blaze returns to the fight and Mephilies gets Iblis and becomes Imperfect Solaris as Silver holds the last 10%.

Silver enraged by the seeming death of his friends kills himself while defeating Solaris once and for all.

While Silver is Dead, in a safe pocket Dimention known as a Gaia Garden. Gaia is keeping her favorite warriors safe and Silver a location to wait to be resurrected. Gold and Blaze do the leg work on this.

This is paralleled with Scourge's Prison break, and he burrows through the Void and finds the Gaia Garden. Amy knocks him out. And they are putting him in a Cell back home once they eventually get there.

This is a conversation after Amy is setting expectations for how Scourge should be acting while under her care and After Neo puts the fear of God in him.

some general stuff about me: my name’s solaris or sol, and i’m 16. i’m aroace and agenderflux, and any pronouns are fine (this includes neos, get creative if you want). there’s like an 80% chance i’ll follow you back if you follow me, and feel free to message me/send me asks or tag me in stuff :3

Blaze in Sonic Neo is going to be a bit different, with the example of her using the power of Solaris, her ancestor.

Oddly specific similarities between Mario and Sonic

Both have an odd statement regarding canon:

"Every Mario is the same Mario"

"Everything is canon"

Both franchises lived in two worlds until they were retconned to one world

Earth and Mushroom World until Mario Odyssey retconned the Mushroom World as a continent on Earth

Sonic was retconned to be two worlds in Sonic Colors due to please the "No Humans in Sonic" crowd, Earth and Sonic's World, until Frontiers where they were retconned back into one

Both had a game in the early 2000s where the main character gets framed by a doppelganger and goes to prison

Mario Sunshine: Mario gets framed by Shadow Mario, he goes along with what the Pianta Police order him to do

Sonic Adventure 2: Sonic gets mistaken for Shadow by GUN, Sonic breaks out until he gets caught again, he gets rescued by Amy after

Both had a game in the mid 2000s that ends with a fabric of reality getting destroyed and the world rewritten as the game's events get wiped, however only a few characters remember the events, the game also introduces a light blue associated character that appears in almost every spinoff afterwards

Mario Galaxy: The game ends with the destruction of the universe by Bowser's Galaxy generator, Rosalina resets it into a new one where everyone is now on the same planet, only Mario, Peach, Bowser and Rosalina remember the game's events. Rosalina then proceeds to appear in almost every Mario Spinoff

Sonic 06: The game ends with Solaris destroying all of time, Sonic and Elise then end up back in the past during the Solaris Project, after blowing out Solaris's candle, the timeline gets reset, only Mephiles fully remembers the game's events, in Sonic Generations, Sonic and Blaze gain some memories. Silver then proceeds to appear in almost every Sonic Spinoff.

Sonic Unleashed: Sonic gets defeated by Eggman at the beginning, Sonic wakes up in Apotos, Chip is scared of him at first, the games has them explore different continents

Both their villains fought an evil scientist that tried to take over their empires

Both had a game involving dreams titled Dream Team where their main villain has an area in their image and they get a transformation as well
