Il nostro amico retrogamer Matteo Turchi, che abbiamo intervistato pochi giorni fa, inizierà una collaborazione con Senzalinea; un vero e proprio angolo per gli amanti del retrogame che ci accompagnerà nei mesi a venire. oggi Matteo ci parlerà del Neo Geo X Gold, una console  prodotta su licenza SNK, in un periodo molto particolare per la casa giapponese. Ma iniziamo subito con quello che ha da raccontarci Matteo!

Ultimamente, sta andando molto di moda il riproporre sul mercato versioni mini o commemorative di console del passato. In questi giorni ho rispolverato una console, che già 7 anni fa proponeva una cosa simile e vorrei dare qualche delucidazione, a chi giustamente non è al corrente, su cosa sia il Neo Geo X Gold.

Nel 2012, per festeggiare i 20 anni della nascita del Neo Geo AES, viene lanciato sul mercato il Neo Geo X, dove i diritti vengono acquistati da SNK, ma la produzione Americana è data in mano a Tommo, e quella europea a Blaze.

La Console è una versione evoluta del Neo Geo Pocket, si avete capito bene, della console portatile, con schermo a 4/3 (ma a me sembra 16/9!!!!!), manopola simile al Pocket, 4 pulsanti frontali di gioco, assieme a START e MENU.

4 pulsanti dorsali, e poi tutto il resto: volume, on/off, jack cuffia, connessione usb ecc. ecc.

Personale considerazione: è bellissima, con tutto il display frontale in vetro, ottimi colori e luminosità, ed ottima emulazione.

Emulazione che vede come supporto una scheda SD con i seguenti giochi pre caricati:

In piu’, a parte sempre su SD, in omaggio il gioco Ninja Master.

Per il mercato Americano sono usciti ben 5 pacchetti aggiuntivi di giochi, mentre solo 1 per quello europeo, dato che nel 2013 a causa delle poche vendite , la produzione fu interrotta. Costo al lancio 199.99 dollaroni.

La cosa davvero bella e a mio parere originale e geniale (2012) è che fu creato un guscio (una Dock Station) perfettamente identica a quella dell’AES, e compreso nella offerta un ottimo Arcade Stick collegabile via USB.

Uscita video HDMI o Composito, che devo dire si comportano “onorevolmente” tutte e 2, ma imparagonabili alla resa RGB su catodico della originale.Nulla a che fare con l’originale AES, ma a mio parere un ottimo prodotto commemorativo, che in anticipo di anni, non sfigura di fronte alle varie MINI console che vediamo oggi invadere il mercato.
