UK Artist @jayconnollyart is known for his commission portraits of soccer players and boxers but he chose to spend his free time & effort painting young #bradleylowery and sent it as a gift to Bradley's family - Bradley was an avid #Sunderland fan who lost his battle with the rare form of cancer #neuroblastoma just age 6yrs. He was Sunderland's and Englands football mascot and won the hearts of millions. This girl is AMAZING 🤩… full dress rehearsal (practice run) in her bean bag (to keep her in the EXACT same position for every session) through the DONUT (radiotherapy machine) … Florentina WONT need to be under anesthetic for her radio treatment. she is smashing this treatment!!! All set for her first session on the 6th of dec and the best news is subject to it all going to plan … home for Christmas Eve!!! 💪🙏🏼🎉💕💕. Florentina has once again amazed us all with her strength and determination… even though we had an emergency overnight stay in hospital … she is home now… Thank you all so much for everything you have done so far… we have raised 48% of our target 🤞🏼 we can get to 50% for Christmas. Sisters back together again at home 👯‍♀️. We have had some well needed family time these last few days! Florentina has eaten 3 meals today which has been a major break through, we are so pleased she’s all of a sudden progressed so much with food since the high dose chemo. It has still been pretty full on. We went to UCLH yesterday to have our radiotherapy consultation. We were there a few hours getting to know the amazing play team who feel pretty confident that we can get Florentina on the machine without having an anesthetic every time, fingers crossed 🤞🏼. She has a practice run in 2 weeks time to see if we can do it awake! She will need 12 sessions which will last about 3mins at a time every day. She’s due to start her radiotherapy on the 6th Dec. Next week she has 3 days at GOSH for her routine check up scans the MIBG and MRI. Then back to UCLH for radiotherapy preparation the following week. In September...we wear Gold in support of children every where just like this amazing girl who have fought so damn hard! Some, like Madelyn beat #cancer and some, like so many we’ve met along our journey have fought to the very end. September is Children’s Cancer Awareness month. It’s not talked about or advertised or marketed like many others, but it is. It just so happens it’s also this amazing girls birth month(20th😊). If you don’t know this girls story I’ll sum it up for you...diagnosed with stage 4 #neuroblastoma at the age of 3 months old. Fought like hell to live for the next year with surgery after surgery, chemo, hospital stays, scans, bloodwork, ports (in and out) multiple bone marrow aspirates, liver biopsy and countless other procedures. NED (no evidence of disease) by her 1st birthday! She is a warrior. A fighter. A true testament of God’s mercy. Ans she’s my hero. Life wouldn’t be the same without her around and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for her!
