ALL-NEW 2023 Honda Pilot
Three-row midsize SUVs are excellent choices for growing families, and the Honda Pilot was the go-to choice until the Kia Telluride arrived in 2020. The redesigned 2023 Honda Pilot looks to recapture the top spot with a host of changes and upgrades. The new Pilot is 3.4 inches longer than its predecessor, resulting in more legroom for second and third-row passengers. It also increases cargo capacity to class-leading dimensions.
On the outside, the new Pilot has a more upright, utilitarian shape, giving it a strong presence that suits the updated TrailSport off-road model. The previous TrailSport was more of an appearance package, but the new model has legitimate off-road capabilities. Inside, a new removable second-row center seat provides unparalleled versatility, too.
Given the numerous enhancements and improvements, the 2023 Honda Pilot has the right stuff to better challenge the Telluride and related Hyundai Palisade.
Fuel economy estimates have not yet been released by the Environmental Protection Agency, but we expect the 2023 Honda Pilot to return similar or slightly better figures than the 2022 Pilot, which was rated at 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg for highway driving. All-wheel-drive models earn 19/25 mpg city/highway.

have seen the "you really bought a tesla?" post a couple times now and it's another one of those things that I think people often have misconceptions about
1. the cheapest Tesla (model 3) was the world's bestselling electric car from 2018 to 2020, when it was ousted by the 2nd-cheapest Tesla (model Y). the model Y was the single best selling car in the world in the first quarter of 2023. they are very popular.
2. the cheapest Tesla is $40,240 new. with the $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicles, a price tag of $32,740 puts it on par with the Honda Odyssey minivan's base price or with slightly nicer trims of SUVs like the Subaru Outback or Toyota RAV4, and only about $100 more than a new Prius Prime. People in California may also qualify for an additional $2000-$5000 rebate for buying one, bringing the price down to $27,740 - just $1000 more than a new Toyota Camry.
3. the concerns about safety are often weighted against an incorrect baseline - so far, current data show that electric vehicles aren't more likely to catch fire in an accident than gas vehicles and are actually less likely to do so (but this is difficult to get solid data on. there's a bunch of articles reporting on a study by an insurance company showing a massive reduction in fire risk but the underlying data are highly suspicious).
4. the big point of distrust that I think is grounded: recalls. some of the 22 (22!) model 3 recalls are ~trivial, like "the driver's side sun visor may be missing the airbag warning sticker", but some are more serious, like "the airbags might not be correctly connected to the car." it seems like a lot of the issues have been addressed on the current (2023-2027) line, but the recurring problems with things ranging from minor software issues to pretty serious function issues are good cause for concern. None of the ones I've read about seem as severe as Toyota's "oops the accelerator gets stuck and your car can't stop moving forward" recall or Ford's "oops the engine explodes" recalls [plural], and even the worst ones are on par with things we've seen before especially from US automakers (glaring at Ford, GM, and Ford again). Ford and GM are both guilty of continuing to use known bad parts for >5 years with (in one case) thousands of fires and (in another) over a hundred deaths. moreover, GM's Bolt EV is under a 100% recall for the 2017-2022 model years for high fire risk and Ford recalled over 100,000 hybrids for fire risk - so is Tesla worse than GM or Ford? I don't know if I'd say that, but I'd really want a car I buy to live up to a higher standard.
in short, the most popular teslas by a huge margin are the two most affordable ones, which are fairly accessible to consumers (especially in California). the risk of a tesla exploding or catching on fire is not, as far as I can tell, higher than other cars (and it appears to be less likely per million miles traveled than some other EVs on the market). teslas still have a bunch of quality issues, and they still have some stupid design choices - but you can easily buy a shittier car for a lot more money, particularly an American-made one.

I am team RAV4, as my friend has a used one and loves it! Also totally anecdotally I knew someone who worked for Jeep as an automobile engineer who said he would never buy one because they were badly designed 😂 if you have access to a library you can look up consumer reports for specific models of car and get a good idea of pros and cons, which I found helpful while picking a car
Oooh boy, be careful, those sound like fighting words to the Jeep fans out there 😅
Honestly, part of the problem is, because of my budget (and my disdain for how quickly cars depreciate in value), I’m looking specifically for gently used cars. I COULD get cars shipped from elsewhere in the country, but that would require commitment to the car before seeing it/getting it myself, which feels riskier. It’s also very much a seller’s market right now, so the good deals are selling quickly.
I was actually gonna get a 2023 Kia Sportage hybrid that was in Spokane. My dad saw this listing Friday night, talked to the salesman, set up time to go see it… we even talked about how to handle buying it that day if all looked good. The car sold Saturday morning before he got in 😭😭
Apparently the Honda CR-V has the best reviews and ratings for hybrid SUVs. Haven’t found a decent one within my budget.
Im still not sure why im being told the RAV-4 isn’t a good “Montana car.” Seems everybody I know loves theirs. But, the few used hybrid RAV-4s around me are coming in like 3-5k higher than my current budget. There are cheaper ones across the country- I think the options near me are more expensive trims?- but that’s the same issue with needing to commit before somebody I trust can even see it in person.
My dad is talking about maybe expanding the budget given the trouble we are having. My mom will probably lowkey still want to just give me her current car (standard gasoline/non-hybrid, a Cherokee trailhawk) so she can get whatever new car she wants. I’m grateful for whatever help they give me, but it’s just not what I would prefer for, ideally, the next 10+ years.
I do have a library but it’s on the other side of town like 30 min from me, and I’d have to drive through downtown, so it’s a pain to go. At this point though I really feel like I actually have less choice than I thought. I still want to vet whatever cars I have available, but I also feel like if I take any time to think about an available car, it’ll be gone.
Thanks for your help/thoughts/comments!

In the ever-competitive Indian car market, Honda has established itself as a leader, offering a diverse range of vehicles catering to various needs and preferences. In 2023, they entered the booming SUV segment with the much-anticipated Honda Elevate. This new arrival shares some key components with its established sedan sibling, the Honda City. Both utilize the same platform and powertrain options, sparking curiosity about their real-world performance. This article delves into a head-to-head comparison of the Honda Elevate CVT and Honda City CVT, specifically focusing on their acceleration, braking, and factors influencing their performance. Under the Hood: A Look at Engine Specifications Before diving into performance results, it's crucial to understand the mechanical foundation of these two vehicles. Both the Honda Elevate CVT and Honda City CVT come equipped with: 1.5-liter Naturally Aspirated (NA) Petrol Engine: This engine serves as the workhorse for both vehicles, delivering a reliable and fuel-efficient driving experience. CVT Transmission: The continuously variable transmission (CVT) offers smooth gear changes and contributes to overall fuel efficiency. Important Note: While both the Elevate and City offer manual transmission options, this comparison focuses solely on the CVT variants we tested. Engine Specifications Breakdown: FeatureHonda Elevate CVTHonda City CVTEngine1.5L NA Petrol1.5L NA PetrolPower121 PS121 PSTorque145 Nm145 NmTransmissionCVTCVT As you can see, both vehicles boast identical engine specifications, suggesting their performance should be virtually the same on paper. However, real-world factors often come into play, influencing how these cars behave on the road. Putting Them to the Test: Acceleration and Braking Performance We conducted real-world performance tests to understand the true capabilities of the Honda Elevate CVT and Honda City CVT. Here's a breakdown of the results: Acceleration Test: TestHonda Elevate CVTHonda City CVT0-100 km/h12.35 seconds10.94 secondsQuarter Mile18.64 seconds @ 125.11 km/h17.87 seconds @ 130.39 km/hKickdown (20-80 km/h)7.2 seconds6.36 seconds The results reveal that the Honda City CVT holds a slight edge in acceleration. While the City bests the Elevate by 1.4 seconds in the 0-100 km/h sprint, the difference narrows to under a second when completing a quarter mile. Similarly, the knockdown test (20-80 km/h) showcases a marginal difference of less than a second between the two vehicles. Braking Test: TestHonda Elevate CVTHonda City CVT100-0 km/h37.98 meters41.88 meters80-0 km/h23.90 meters26.50 meters Interestingly, the tables turn when it comes to braking. The Honda Elevate CVT outperforms the City in both braking tests. It requires nearly 4 meters less distance to come to a complete stop from 100 km/h and edges out the City by a margin of 2.6 meters when braking from 80 km/h. What Explains the Performance Differences? While they share the same engine and transmission, several factors might contribute to the observed performance variations: Weight: According to available data, the Honda Elevate is heavier than the City by over 100 kg. This additional weight can hinder acceleration and influence braking distances. Aerodynamics: The Honda City's sedan design might offer a slight aerodynamic advantage over the SUV-styled Elevate, potentially impacting acceleration. Wheel Size: The Elevate utilizes larger 215/55 R17 alloy wheels compared to the City's 185/55 R16 wheels. FAQs Q: Are the Honda Elevate CVT and Honda City CVT available with manual transmissions? A: Yes, both the Elevate and City offer manual transmission options alongside the CVT variants tested in this comparison. Q: Which car offers a more comfortable ride? A: While a definitive answer requires a test drive of both vehicles, the Honda City's sedan design might offer a slightly smoother ride due to its lower center of gravity compared to the SUV-style Elevate. Q: Is there a significant difference in the price range between the Honda Elevate CVT and the Honda City CVT? A: The starting prices for both vehicles are expected to be fairly close. It's recommended to check with authorized Honda dealerships for the latest pricing information.

Eligibility: This category is open to all models that are either brand new or have undergone significant redesigns for the model year 2024, provided we have assessed them following their updates. Criteria: We prioritize quality, innovation, and value in our evaluation. It's rare for a car to excel in all three areas, but strength in one aspect can make up for weaknesses in others. The competition is as much within each vehicle's category as it is among the finalists for 2024. Top Pick: The 2024 model of a notable compact SUV Starting Price Range: $21,495-$24,995, with all costs included Average Fuel Economy: 30 miles per gallon 2024 Chevrolet Trax Activ review by The Straight Pipes. The Trax is putting down 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque from a turbo 1.2L 3 Cylinder. At $30,554 CAD, would you take it over the Honda Civic or Buick Envista? Last year, the notion that the 2024 model of this compact SUV would not only offer more space than its predecessor, feature advanced displays, and also come with a lower initial price might have seemed laughable. Yet, that's precisely what occurred. While affordability is a key factor in determining our Car of the Year, it's not the sole criterion. What truly impressed us was the vehicle's optional technology and display features, which rival—and in terms of ease of use, surpass—those found in many luxury vehicles. Starting from the LT trim level upwards, the car boasts an 11-inch touchscreen that is both vibrant and user-friendly, accompanied by an 8-inch digital instrument panel. This setup offers a modern interface complete with wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the option for wireless charging, all priced around $24,000 (price includes destination fees) when equipped accordingly. The vehicle's interior has expanded, offering more room than its higher-priced sibling, which is equipped with all-wheel drive (in contrast to this model's front-wheel drive). This positions the SUV uniquely in the market, offering substantial size for the price, and blurring the lines between a raised hatchback and an SUV. Its commendable third-place finish in our Affordable SUV Challenge of 2023 stands out, especially considering its tested price was significantly lower than that of its competitors, yet it managed to outperform several of them. The backseat offers comfort for most due to its ample width and flat floor, while the front of the cabin provides abundant storage space for personal items. Despite modest specifications, the SUV's turbocharged three-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission delivers adequate performance for its category. Additionally, in our tests, the vehicle achieved 34.1 mpg combined, highlighting its fuel efficiency. A significant aspect of the vehicle's appeal is its design, which aligns more with the bold styling of another model in the brand's lineup, marking a significant departure from its predecessor's more understated look. Overall, this compact SUV sets a new standard for what consumers should expect from an affordable vehicle through its innovative design and features. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNxU1-8QIRA

For Car Thieves, Toronto Is a ‘Candy Store,’ and Drivers Are Fed Up (NYT) Whenever Dennis Wilson wants to take a drive in his new SUV, he has to set aside an extra 15 minutes. That’s about how long it takes to remove the car’s steering wheel club, undo four tire locks and lower a yellow bollard before backing out of his driveway. His Honda CR-V is also fitted with two alarm systems, a vehicle tracking device and, for good measure, four Apple AirTags. Its remote-access key fob rests in a Faraday bag, to jam illicit unlocking signals. As a final touch, he mounted two motion-sensitive floodlights on his house and aimed them at the driveway in his modest neighborhood in Toronto. But all of these security gadgets, Mr. Wilson is convinced, will do no more than delay what seems inevitable: Toronto’s seasoned auto thieves won’t be deterred by the defensive gear, and they’ll make off with this Honda SUV just as they did with its predecessor—and its insurance replacement, which they returned to steal. “By no means do I think that I’ve stopped them,” Mr. Wilson said. “All I’ve done is made it take an extra 10 minutes to steal my car.”
Biden Caught in a Political Bind Over Israel Policy (NYT) The Biden administration’s reversal of Trump-era policy on settlements in the occupied West Bank reflects not just its rising frustration with Israel, but the political bind the president finds himself in, just days before the Democratic primary in Michigan, where a large Arab American population is urging voters to register their anger by voting “uncommitted.” The United States has long been Israel’s most important international ally. Since the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7 left 1,200 dead in Israel, mostly civilians, Washington has consistently backed Israel’s blistering campaign in Gaza. The Biden administration has also shielded Israel from international censure by blocking cease-fire resolutions at the U.N. Security Council, even as the death toll in Gaza nears 30,000, according to health officials in the enclave. That stance has increasingly left Mr. Biden in a no-win situation. His recent moves to press the Israeli government to wind down the war in Gaza and enter negotiations toward a Palestinian state have angered some ardent supporters of Israel in the United States. Yet they have come nowhere close to placating Israel’s fiercest critics on the political left and the Arab American community.
Supporters of Brazil’s Bolsonaro stage huge demonstration to defend him amid investigations (AP) Supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro staged a huge rally jamming a main avenue in Brazil’s biggest city Sunday to defend him against legal challenges that could put him in jail. The far-right leader said in a speech that he seeks “pacification to erase the past,” taking a more conciliatory tone than when he was in office. Bolsonaro is seeking to show his base is resilient as he is being investigated by federal police over his alleged role in the Jan. 8, 2023, attacks on government buildings by his supporters over his election loss. Bolsonaro is also accused of illegally receiving jewels from Saudi Arabia during his presidency.
Hungary approves Sweden’s NATO bid, unblocking historic expansion (Washington Post) Hungary’s parliament voted Monday in favor of Sweden’s long-delayed bid to join NATO, clearing the final obstacle to a historic expansion of the military alliance and putting an end to an uncomfortable standoff between members. With Budapest at last onboard, Sweden is set to become NATO’s 32nd member, possibly within the week, completing a process that began with Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine and saw Finland join last year. The addition of the two Nordic countries will bolster the alliance’s capabilities, strengthening its position in the high north and the Baltic Sea—all while sending an important message to Moscow.
How the C.I.A. Secretly Helps Ukraine Fight Putin (NYT) Nestled in a dense forest, the Ukrainian military base appears abandoned and destroyed, its command center a burned-out husk, a casualty of a Russian missile barrage early in the war. But that is above ground. Not far away, a discreet passageway descends to a subterranean bunker where teams of Ukrainian soldiers track Russian spy satellites and eavesdrop on conversations between Russian commanders. On one screen, a red line followed the route of an explosive drone threading through Russian air defenses from a point in central Ukraine to a target in the Russian city of Rostov. The underground bunker, built to replace the destroyed command center in the months after Russia’s invasion, is a secret nerve center of Ukraine’s military. There is also one more secret: The base is almost fully financed, and partly equipped, by the C.I.A. Now entering the third year of a war that has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, the intelligence partnership between Washington and Kyiv is a linchpin of Ukraine’s ability to defend itself. The C.I.A. and other American intelligence agencies provide intelligence for targeted missile strikes, track Russian troop movements and help support spy networks.
In water-stressed Singapore, a search for new solutions to keep the taps flowing (AP) A crack of thunder booms as dozens of screens in a locked office flash between live video of cars splashing through wet roads, drains sapping the streets dry, and reservoirs collecting the precious rainwater across the tropical island of Singapore. A team of government employees intently monitors the water, which will be collected and purified for use by the country’s six million residents. “We make use of real-time data to manage the storm water,” Harry Seah, deputy chief executive of operations at PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, says with a smile while standing in front of the screens. “All of this water will go to the marina and reservoirs.” The room is part of Singapore’s cutting-edge water management system that combines technology, diplomacy and community involvement to help one of the most water-stressed nations in the world secure its water future. Singapore is one of the most densely populated countries on the planet. In recent decades the island has also transformed into a modern international business hub, with a rapidly developing economy. The boom has caused the country’s water consumption to increase by over twelve times since the nation’s independence from Malaysia in 1965.
China’s Cat Island, where lucky strays wait for a new home (Washington Post) The happiest place on Earth for cats might just be here, on Cat Island, a feline playground just a few miles from Shanghai Disneyland. While humans whoop and whirl at the latter, the 400-plus kitties who call Cat Island home rest in the shade of specially constructed grass-covered play tunnels or loll about in pagodas. They cross a wooden bridge to stalk through pear orchards, the intrepid among them even venturing into the horse stable. The pampered residents here were once strays in downtown Shanghai, a city of 25 million people and somewhere between 400,000 and 1.5 million stray cats. But efforts are underway to stem the exploding feral population in the metropolis, and find homes for at least some of the newly neutered cats. Cat Island’s entire population is up for adoption.
South Korea doctors on mass walkout say they are overworked and unheard (Reuters) Ryu Ok Hada always wanted to help people, but now the South Korean trainee doctor has walked off the job and stands outside the hospital where he worked, holding his medical gown in his hand. Park Dan, who recently realised his childhood dream of being an emergency physician, is also one of over 7,800 interns and residents who have resigned in a confrontation with the government, which threatens to arrest them. Ryu and Park say the junior doctors, a crucial cog in South Korea’s highly regarded medical system, are overworked, underpaid and unheard. “The current medical system in South Korea, which is a great one, is run by making cheap trainee doctors keep grinding,” Ryu, 25, told Reuters. Intern and resident doctors in South Korea work 36-hour shifts, compared to shifts of less than 24 hours in the U.S., according to the Korean Intern Resident Association. It says half the young U.S. physicians work 60 hours a week or less, while Korean doctors often work more than 100 hours.
A Re-established West Bank Settlement Symbolizes Hardened Israeli Views (NYT) For an Israeli settlement that has become such a resounding symbol of religious and right-wing politics in the West Bank, Homesh is not much to look at. Three families live in tarpaulin-covered shelters full of bunk beds for some 50 young men, who study in a yeshiva that is a shabby prefab structure surrounded by abandoned toys, building materials and garbage. They live part time here amid the ruins and rubbish of a hilltop settlement ripped down in 2005 by the Israeli army and police. It is one of four West Bank settlements dismantled when Israel pulled all of its troops and settlements out of Gaza. Israel’s intention then, pushed by Washington, was to signal that outlying settlements too hard to defend would be consolidated in any future peace deal. The decision to dismantle them is now being challenged by the more religious and right-wing ministers in the government of Benjamin Netanyahu. They are agitating to settle more land in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and even remove Palestinians from Gaza to resettle there. Homesh, perched in the hills above Nablus, has become a symbol of their resolve.
Israeli Forces Will Move Into Rafah, Cease-Fire Deal or Not, Netanyahu Says (NYT) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Israeli forces would push into the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah regardless of the outcome of talks to pause the fighting that appear to have been making some progress in recent days. “It has to be done,” the Israeli prime minister said. “Because total victory is our goal, and total victory is within reach.” The push toward Rafah has drawn warnings from Israel’s closest ally, the United States, because of the potential for mass civilian casualties beyond the nearly 30,000 Gazans who have already been reported killed in the war, more than half of whom are women and children. Israeli officials have said that the battle for Rafah could take place during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which is expected to begin during the second week of March. Ramadan has been a critical moment for tensions between Israelis and Palestinians over the years.
Runaway train speeds 43 miles down tracks in India without a driver (CBS News) An Indian train conductor should maybe consider retaking driving lessons after leaving a fully loaded freight train unattended on a slope without the emergency brake on. Thanks to the basic principles of physics, the 53-wagon train quickly began rolling on its own. It traveled 43.4 miles at around 53 miles per hour in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, whizzing through several stations before officials managed to stop its journey five stations over from where it had started. Luckily, only gravel was aboard the runaway train, and no one was injured.

2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI Review: How the Hot Hatch Icon Stays Relevant After 45 Years
Tumblr media
The Iconic Hot Hatch Returns: Inside the Latest Golf GTI
As an ardent fan who’s owned three GTIs over the last 15 years, few new car launches get me as excited as a new generation of the iconic hot hatch. The Mk8 2022 model ushers the GTI into a high-tech new era while retaining that raw, analogue driving feel intrinsic to its DNA.
A Brief History of an Icon
Ever since the first Mk1 GTI introduced the concept of an attainable, performance-oriented “hot hatch” to the masses in 1976, driving enthusiasts have had a new affordable toy. My first was a handed-down Mk2 from the late 80s, complete with plaid cloth seats cramping four friends during high school cruises along winding backroads (sorry Mom!). But as I upgraded over the next decade from a Mk4 to Mk6, power, tech and refinement increased without losing that playful spirit.
Mk8 Brings Big Upgrades Under a Familiar Shape
You’d be forgiven for not immediately noticing the Mk8 as all-new – the rounded silhouette and C-pillar “kink” are trademark GTI. But under the skin lies the biggest overhaul yet, sitting on VW’s latest MQB platform packing upgraded systems. Options like matrix LED headlights, a digital cockpit and driver assistance systems bring the GTI clearly into the 2020s. Yet a multi-function perforated leather wheel and trademark plaid seats keep that classic identity. More Power with Serious efficiency GTI fans care most about what’s under the hood, and the Mk8’s turbocharged 2.0-liter engine adds 13 hp for a total 241 hp and 273 lb-ft torque - hugely usable grunt. My DSG test car hit 60mph in under 6 seconds thanks to that immediate shove, while delivering 34 mpg highway. And the optional performance exhaust pops and crackles just enough to satisfy when revved, without annoying the neighbors constantly. Balanced, Playful Handling Remains Core Strength Through sweeping curves of my favorite SoCal canyon routes, the GTI stayed planted and lively. The new VAQ limited-slip differential meant I could really lean on the accurate steering and impressive grip levels from wider tires before gentle understeer curbed my momentum. Adaptive dampers on certain trims add greater compliance in comfort mode too. It’s still the trusty Front-wheel drive balance that makes the GTI so satisfying to chuck around bends. Gearbox Options to Suit Any Driver Stick-shift fans can rejoice as VW retained the standard 6-speed manual for ultimate involvement, with auto rev-matching helping smooth shifts. But most will opt for the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic that suits the GTI’s torque-rich character - snappy, smart shifts to better accelerate but still highly responsive using paddles. I’d welcome the manual’s added driver connection, but won’t mourn losing the DSG’s convenience in traffic.
How Rivals Compare
Having tested the latest Civic Type R and Hyundai i30 N Performance, the Mk8 GTI keeps pace with these FWD heavies while undercutting entry prices. The Honda and Hyundai build on front-drive with their less-sophisticated platforms by adding power or handling sharpness – turning up extremes where the GTI takes a more holistic approach. All three deliver huge grins, but the GTI remains that all-weather, all-condition dynamo.
Why it Matters
As electric swells, SUVs dominate and autonomous looms, few cars engage a driver’s senses like the 2022 GTI. It's an icon that helped define the hot hatch formula of blending real-world practicality with responsive handling, communicative feedback and usable performance. The Mk8 carries that torch, with a maturity that should woo enthusiasts for another generation. Few cars so consistently deliver driving joys with such an infectious spirit as the GTI for the money. Exploring the Prowess of Honda Cars on Indian Roads
When it comes to choosing a sedan or SUV in India, Honda has secured its position as a reliable and popular choice among discerning consumers. Renowned for its quality and diverse range of offerings, Honda has not only captured the hearts of Indian car enthusiasts but has also solidified its global reputation over decades. In this article, we'll take a closer look at some of the top Honda sedans and SUVs that are revving up the roads in India.
The Versatile Honda Amaze
The Honda Amaze emerges as a cost-effective sedan, catering to both city commuting and long-distance travel. Available in Lunar Silver Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, and Meteoroid Grey Metallic, the Amaze combines style with practicality. Boasting 420 liters of boot space, touch sensor-equipped chrome handles, contoured bucket seats, and a multi-function tilt-enabled steering wheel, the Amaze is designed for a comfortable driving experience.
It comes in both petrol and diesel variants, with the petrol model featuring a 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine. The three available variants – Honda Amaze E, Honda Amaze S, and Honda Amaze VX – cater to different preferences and budgets, making the Amaze a versatile choice for a wide range of consumers.
Classic meets Modern: Honda City (5th Gen)
The iconic Honda City, first launched in 1981, continues to impress Indian consumers with its 5th Gen model. This sedan seamlessly blends classic elements with modern features. Available in six vibrant colors – Meteoroid Metallic Grey, Golden Brown Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, and Lunar Silver Metallic – the City offers a luxurious interior, complete with ambient lights, soft-touch door lining, and premium leather upholstery on spacious contemporary seats.
The 4+1-seater sedan promises not just style but also performance, with a high-performance engine designed for better combustion, reduced friction, and lower emissions. The Honda City (5th Gen) is a testament to Honda's commitment to evolving with the times while preserving the essence of its classic models.
Embracing the Future: Honda City e:HEV
For environmentally conscious consumers, the Honda City e:HEV offers a hybrid variant in the same striking colors as its traditional counterpart. With the global shift towards electric vehicles (EVs), the e:HEV presents a compelling option for those looking to embrace eco-friendly mobility. Governments often provide incentives for purchasing EVs, making them not just environmentally responsible but economically advantageous.
Before transitioning to an EV, it's essential to understand the types of electric vehicles available and how to maintain them for optimal performance. The Honda City e:HEV combines the reliability of the traditional City model with a hybrid powertrain, offering a seamless blend of fuel efficiency and eco-conscious driving.
Honda Elevate : Elevating SUV Experience
If an SUV aligns more with your personality or lifestyle, the Honda Elevate, launched in 2023, is a model worth considering. Available in seven colors and three dual-tone options, the Elevate not only focuses on aesthetics but also prioritizes safety. Equipped with a front camera and collision-mitigating technology, along with a rear camera providing a multi-angle view for parking assistance, the Elevate is designed to make driving and parking a breeze.
As of now, the Elevate is exclusively available in a petrol version, catering to those who prefer the robust performance of a petrol engine in their SUV. To enhance the overall driving experience, Honda offers a range of accessories, allowing consumers to personalize their Elevate and make it uniquely their own.
Why Honda Vehicles Deserve Your Consideration
Choosing a new car is a significant financial decision, and Honda ensures that your investment is well worth it. The availability of a wide range of accessories allows you to tailor your vehicle to meet your specific expectations and preferences. Additionally, Honda cars come equipped with Honda Sensing, a comprehensive system designed to minimize the risk of accidents and assist drivers in maintaining safe driving practices.
One notable advantage of opting for a Honda vehicle is the 10-year warranty, providing peace of mind and reflecting the brand's confidence in the durability and reliability of their cars. This extended warranty period is a testament to Honda's commitment to customer satisfaction and the longevity of their vehicles.
Navigating the New Car Journey
While bringing a new car home is undoubtedly an exciting adventure, it's crucial to ensure that all necessary formalities are completed accurately. A registration certificate is a key document that must be kept with you every time you drive the car. Additionally, obtaining motor insurance and a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate is mandatory. PUC certificates, issued by authorized centers, need to be renewed on time to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
In conclusion, Honda's lineup of sedans and SUVs in India offers a diverse range of options, catering to different preferences, needs, and environmental considerations. Whether you opt for the efficient Honda Amaze, the classic Honda City, the eco-friendly Honda City e:HEV, or the robust Honda Elevate, you can trust in Honda's legacy of quality and innovation on the Indian roads. Consider the 10-year warranty, Honda Sensing features, and the array of accessories available to make an informed decision when adding a Honda to your driveway. Happy driving!
