There’s a new baby due in my son’s family hopefully this week. The highly imaginative 6-year-old big sister is preparing for the birth in her own way. Twins are not expected...just a new baby sister. But here, in this case, twin births were a much easier solution than coming home & having another baby ...immediately. That’s a mighty proud dad & an overjoyed, if not slightly shocked new mother. She had no idea she was going to have twins. Nursing is coming along nicely. Nurse Barbie & Doctor Barbie were amazing. It’s great to go with your gut but don’t confuse bad vibes with “new, strange shit” vibes. It happened to me and my wife and we learned some pretty new, strange, hippy shit when we were pregnant. Ultimately it was all very loving and extremely helpful and changed EVERY SINGLE PERSPECTIVE we had on birth. The big takeaway should be that if you aren’t getting the answers or the vibes that you want then keep looking and keep asking. There is a lot of outdated, old school, unnecessary and sometimes just plain harmful mentality and procedures in the childbirth world.
