Okay I know I keep calling Macky all smol and cute and shy and he lowkey gives off those vibes, but his actual stated issue was not having the confidence to put his foot down and state his opinions in a way that everyone would listen. He never raised his voice and just was that person surrounded by so many people, yet still alone and cut off from the group, just following along with the one who was more extroverted and captured everybody's attention. Anyways, this is all to say that for so long we kept thinking Macky always runs, I mean everybody says it. Even Peng. Present day Macky uses his shadows to intimidate, but apparently he wasn't using his shadow form to scare people back then. I find myself wondering if the reason he talked to MK about making your own decisions...it doesn't quite cleanly match up with the War on Heaven. Like, if he was like "yeah I don't like this. Y'all have fun tho." That doesn't erase the consequences, and the issue was speaking up. I get it means "stop always following Wukong wherever he goes" but that ALSO doesn't erase other *hypothetical issues* on how the Brotherhood and Wukong would react. (Something I'm still concerned about bc how DID they react when he ditched them? That scene Tang sees with Azure had a dark, oppressive aura. Between that and Macky's opposition over Camel Ridge, Peng implying he knows how to sniff Macky down. I am concern.)
Maybe if he said he was backing out, Wukong would've been surprised enough to listen, but insistent, and if they kept going, and Macky really stood his ground, he may even have doubts. But then Azure and Co. could just as well reel him back in and create a nice juicy conflict of loyalties, but point is. What if it wasn't Macky's decision to run? Azure was treating Wukong like a warrior fallen in battle, a leader fallen in battle, in a way that was shattering the pedestal he was placed on. Was it really Macky's call to run? Or someone else who made the decision for him.
Cowardly maybe, but he always came back. He's always been loyal. Is the person he was in the past the kind to make ruthless choices like some army generalfleeing for the greater good, cutting their losses to try again? I mean honestly, leaving Wukong? What he's GREAT at is never telling Wukong the real story. Never defending himself when people accuse him of anything. Even now he doesn't answer to the "what about you- you just come back?"It would not surprise me if the answer to "cause normally you just rush to my rescue" wasn't just a matter of falling into the trap of thinking Wukong was too strong to need help, he never put up an image of that, wanting to be the strongest, but also a matter of "I'm sorry I couldn't, I was ordered to retreat." The Warrior always listens to the most commanding presence in the room. Never making his own choices. Thinking of Option A and Option B, never seeing he could have an Option C. And it's all deliciously wrapped up in the horrors of how, sincerely, getting punished alongside Wukong, he would not survive the furnace, (if kept in LMK) how this time, while Wukong's jab was right, it had an unfortunate extra layer of an additional factor between the two bread slices of Macky's communication issues. And the tasty angst of "everytime Macky chooses to rescue Wukong, it's to make up for what he couldn't do before even if he complains." "...there was nothing that could stop the two of them. Not on Earth or the Celestial Realm..." Except for the Jade Emperor. I need to know his thoughts behind this still. We know he cares enough to do stupid things for Wukong, now. And enough to leave the Brotherhood because he still had faith in him despite their fight. Still loved him, despite the "I never want to see you here again!" Question is, that enough for, in that singular moment where retreat seems to be the only option less they fall too, to ask. "What? We can't leave Wukong! You're the ones to came to our mountain to ask him to be your king! Everything he did was for you!" <-- evil parallel dialogue ^_^ <- also guy who doesn't realize Wukong meant it when he said "us" it did include him, and it wasn't just to get strong for the heck of it. <-- pairs nicely with guy who doesn't realize his friend thought he was already enough. "It doesn't always have to be you, he needs to know it's not all on him-" Wow, that history sure do be repeating.
i personally hop between the “the Brotherhood fled the second Wukong had his back to the wall and deemed him a failed weapon, but Wukong only saw Mac leave” and “Mac, already not on board with the plan, left the moment he was surrounded by celestial troops he could not overpower”
and both still fit with Macky’s whole “i never gave myself a chance to really choose my path and stand my ground, believing there was an inevitable one i was meant to follow”
he is a fun character to study because a lot of his actions s1-3 is him still upset that his path isn’t up to him. and then we get to s4, Macky finds his previous belief shaken and thrown out the window no thanks to MK, and he finally realizes that he never needed to follow the predestined path. all the choices and lines carved for him that he felt he could not escape in the past, were ones he did not need to abide by despite how much it felt like he should. he saw, first hand, MK shatter LBD’s well-ironed destiny because he refused to be beaten into submission into choices he did not like
and he is able to help work MK through that as well (in future seasons) and drag him out of his learned helplessness. also, how his teachings with MK complement Wukong’s??? how we see the same message repeated by Wukong in 5x03 but in a slightly different way. this just proves to me that shadowpeach mentorship is real and where both monkeys will fall, teaching MK from their learned mistakes and strengthening hi resolve

Discover The Pixel 9 Pro Fold Update Design & Camera Feature
Tumblr media
Pixel Fold 9 Pro
The developers developing the new foldable made significant changes to make it smaller in only its second iteration.
The newly released Pixel 9 Pro Fold has been completely revamped and improved over the Pixel Fold of the previous generation, making it more than simply an update of its predecessor. The fact that it is even smaller than the original Fold is among the greatest upgrades: When folded, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is only 2 millimeters thicker than their Pixel 9 series phones and is a full 1.5 millimeters thinner than its predecessor.
Additionally, the new Fold is narrower than other tablets, measuring 5.1 millimeters deep when open and shaving 0.7 millimeters off the previous open Fold. It is, in fact, the thinnest foldable phone available on the market, with the biggest display of any smartphone.
According to George Hwang, the product manager for Pixel, “they knew when they made the second one, it had to be thinner.” “However, they were unsure of the exact amount of thinner and the steps required to reach that point.” These are the answers the Pixel team provided in order to create a smaller Fold while still improving the phone’s cameras, screens, and other components.Image Credit To Google
Pixel 9 Fold Pro
Creating A Phone Design First, Then A Foldable
Director of industrial design Claude Zellweger explains that one realization that led the team to the phone’s redesigned design was how users interacted with the first Pixel Fold: “People were frequently using it closed, as they observed.” Many prefer to use their foldable smartphone as a conventional smartphone, even if they are drawn to the novel form factor and the extra benefit of a tablet-like experience. “That’s what made us realize that, in terms of design, they should make this a phone first,” says Claude. “‘Phone first’ became their motto.”
The idea was to create a foldable that, on top of feeling, looking, and acting essentially like a smartphone, added extra functions. Pixel product manager Jon Prowse said, “You have to make a great phone, and then you can make a great foldable.”
What exactly does being “phone first” entail, though? Many things, including the Pixel 9 Pro Fold‘s display, which shares the Pixel 9 Pro’s aspect ratio of 20:9. Additionally, it has thinner bezels and the same high-quality finishes. In the end, these factors come together to more closely resemble the other Pixels in the 9 series, which helps them become more recognizable to the hand and eye: Activities including as web surfing and chatting with the smartphone is closed are more akin to the most recent Pixel generation than they are to the previous Fold.
Of course, a key component of this experience is that it is thinner than the Pixel 9 and hence somewhat smaller. It’s particularly amazing that the team managed to include the phone’s enhanced focal point a huge, 8-inch tablet-like display despite the increased “thinness.”
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Creating A Whole New Hinge
They knew it required a new hinge in order to get thinner, explains George. The group designed a multi-alloy steel hinge wrapped in a high-strength aluminum alloy that not only snaps shut but also opens completely flat with a gratifying snap. Though it retains some of the features that made the previous hinge so popular, the new hinge is also more robust than the old one. For instance, they replicated the torque sensation across the range of motion of the Pixel Fold hinge, claims George.
Similar to the last occasion, they looked at and investigated a variety of objects that were enjoyable to open and shut. According to Claude, this has a subtle impact, but it’s a detail that people like, so the team decided to pay attention to it as well. A perfectly balanced experience is provided by the improved fluid-friction hinge and enhanced magnets that snap the device shut.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold Camera
Making A Better Camera In A Smaller Package
It’s not easy to build a slimmer phone with high-performance photography, even though camera technology may be quite space-consuming. Jon adds, “they decided to completely redesign the camera bar and include customized optical modules as google were designing this and thinking about making it so much thinner.”
In the end, they were able to replace the older, less competent optical modules with an upgraded ultrawide camera and two selfie cameras. The intention was to ensure that they lived up to the high standards that users had set for Pixel’s camera quality. And they carried out: Pro-level camera features like Video Boost and Pro Controls are included in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold‘s hardware enhancements; in fact, these changes make the Pixel 9 Pro Fold the greatest folding camera available.
The new Fold’s top left corner houses the double-stacked camera bar, which makes the phone slimmer and more level when it rests on surfaces. The modification also made it easier for engineers to install a larger battery.
Completing The Picture For A Significant Update
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold‘s thinness was aided by a number of minor adjustments in addition to modifications to the camera bar and hinge. It has a slimmer, customized haptics driver, for instance. According to George, “it actually makes the haptics feel more pronounced, so it’s an even nicer feel.”
Along with redesigned speakers, the Fold has a customized, smaller USB-C connector than the original model. The researchers also redesigned the thermal architecture using a new vapor chamber and graphite heat spreader to get around the thinner device’s thermal constraints.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold Release date
Following Google’s yearly Pixel smartphone release timetable, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to launch in the second half of 2024. Industry sources estimate the announcement in October, around the same time as other big Pixel product launches. Google has not announced a release date. This timeline matches Google’s foldable and flagship phone releases.
For release date changes, see Google’s events and announcements. This matches Google’s foldable and flagship phone release schedules. Stay tuned to Google’s events and announcements for release date updates. For the most recent information on the precise release date, keep a watch on Google’s events and announcements.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold Price
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will likely cost more because to its cutting-edge features and folding design. From Google’s folding smartphone price history, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to cost between $1,799 and $1,999 in the US.

A quick guide on diversifying your internet use
Big social media is going to keep being disappointing because their wants and needs don't come anywhere close to aligning with their users wants and needs. EVERY big social media site or app will eventually misalign with its users, because having the entire internet's worth of people in one place is unsustainable for moderation and for financial reasons. It's an unavoidable fate for sites that are supposed to be the hub for everything.
It doesn't have to be that way. Start diversifying the sites you use BEFORE your favorite social media site becomes basically unusable or goes down completely. Take some power away from big tech corporations. Drag your friends into it too, you don't have to explore alone!
Here's a few examples of things you can do:
Join some forums There's forums for basically everything you can think of, from toy collecting, to discussion of specific disabilities, to gardening, to niche roleplay topics, and they've been running for decades so there's immense amounts of knowledge on them. Plus, people tend to be super friendly and welcoming of newbies, so you're likely to make new friends if you post regularly on them. Googling/searching for a topic + "forum"/"discussion board" (like "knitting forum" or "paper mache discussion board") will generally get you what you're looking for. Save your favorites and give them a visit every now and then!
Subscribe to some RSS feeds RSS feeds make it incredibly simple to get updates and news from your favorite websites, including a lot of social media sites! RSS readers + aggregators take the RSS information from your chosen websites (+ tumblrs, twitters, youtube channels, etc) and puts them into an easy to browse format, all in one place. Readers and aggregators are available as browser addons, desktop programs, mobile apps, email subscriptions, embeddable widgets, whatever suits your needs best. Your RSS subscriptions aren't subject to annoying, everchanging, unpredictable algorithms. They'll only show you what you're subscribed to and they'll be in chronological order. Most of them are completely free and have no ads.
Make your own website Having your own website fucking rules and you're fully in charge of everything about it. Make a blog, make an art gallery, use it as a personal image or video host, show your ass, who cares. It's yours to do what you want! Free web hosting: While free hosting is a lot more limited in what you can do, it's also much more accessible if you're not sure you want to fully commit to running a website or if you just want something to throw info on a couple times a year. A few popular examples are NeoCities (also offers a decent paid option,) Cloudflare Pages, and GitHub Pages (SFW only.) Paid web hosting: Paid hosting is generally better for people who are more dedicated to running a site, such as people who need a stable platform for work related stuff (artists, online stores, etc.) You'll generally want your own domain name (like youtube.com or wikipedia.org) which you can get at sites like namecheap, namesilo, or porkbun. Many webhosts offer free subdomain names (like how tumblr blogs are yourblogname.tumblr.com) but having your own domain makes it easy to move to another host if you need to without your url changing. Your choice of web host depends heavily on your price bracket, what you plan to use it for, features you need, if you need to host NSFW content, how much traffic you expect, etc. Contact the support team of any web host you're looking at to make sure they offer what you need before you buy their services. Shared web hosting (where multiple websites are hosted on the same server) is generally the cheapest and most accessible option for the majority of people looking to run a website. Unless you're planning on having several thousands of people on your site all at once on a regular basis, that's probably the option you want. Avoid anything owned by EIG/Newfold Digital. Self-hosting: This is the most complicated option, but also the most versatile. With self-hosting, you're only really limited to the laws of your region and the bandwidth you get from your internet provider, rather than the limits put in place by a hosting company. Take this option only if you're willing to set up a dedicated server and get into all the technical stuff that comes with it. Here's an okay guide for how to get started, though you'll want to do a lot more research beyond this.

These days, graphical user interfaces rule our screens. As such, the command line may appear to be a thing of the past. It is still a powerful tool, though, for anyone who wants to fully utilise a computer's potential. Greetings from the Linux command line universe. Here, we will uncover the tips and tricks that can transform you from a casual user into a command line maestro. Essential Command Line Basics for Linux We'll lay the groundwork for your exploration of the Linux command line in this article. In order to make sure you are comfortable using the terminal and carrying out commands successfully, we will start with the fundamentals. Open a Terminal You can use the terminal application that comes with most Linux distributions. Usually, you can locate it by looking for "Terminal" in the Applications menu or using the system search bar. Basic Commands: ls: List files and directories in the current directory. bashCopy code ls cd: Change the current directory. bashCopy code cd Documents pwd: Print the current working directory. bashCopy code pwd mkdir: Create a new directory. bashCopy code mkdir NewFolder touch: Create an empty file. bashCopy code touch myfile.txt Navigating the File System: Using cd to navigate through directories. bashCopy code cd .. Using ls to list the contents of a directory. bashCopy code ls /home/user/Documents File Manipulation: cp: Copy files or directories. bashCopy code cp file.txt /path/to/destination/ mv: Move or rename files or directories. bashCopy code mv oldfile.txt newfile.txt rm: Remove files or directories. bashCopy code rm myfile.txt Viewing File Content: cat: Display the entire content of a file. bashCopy code cat myfile.txt less or more: View file contents one screen at a time. bashCopy code less myfile.txt head and tail: Show the first or last few lines of a file. bashCopy code head myfile.txt File Permissions: Use chmod to change file permissions. bashCopy code chmod 755 myscript.sh chown changes the owner of a file or directory. bashCopy code sudo chown user:group myfile.txt File Searching: find: Search for files and directories. bashCopy code find /path/to/search -name "*.txt" grep: Search for text within files. bashCopy code grep "keyword" myfile.txt Managing Users and Permissions: passwd: Change your password. bashCopy code passwd sudo: Execute a command with superuser privileges. bashCopy code sudo command useradd and userdel: Add and delete user accounts. bashCopy code sudo useradd newuser sudo userdel olduser Help and Manuals: To get help for a command, use the --help option. bashCopy code ls --help Use the man command to access comprehensive manuals. bashCopy code man ls Keyboard Shortcuts: Up and Down arrow keys for command history. Tab key for auto-completion. Package Management: For Debian/Ubuntu systems (using apt): bashCopy code sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade For CentOS/RHEL systems (using yum): bashCopy code sudo yum update These examples should help you get started with the Linux command line and understand how to perform basic operations. How to Use the Linux Command Line Productively We're going to look at some methods and resources that will help you work with the Linux command line environment more effectively and efficiently. Therefore, mastering these abilities is crucial to optimising your workflow and developing your command-line skills. Tab Completion in Linux command line By pressing the "Tab" key, you can quickly and efficiently complete file and directory names, command names, and other arguments in the Linux command line thanks to a powerful feature called tab completion. It saves you time and prevents you from manually typing lengthy and possibly mistake-prone names. Here's how tab completion functions and some advice on how to use it efficiently: File and Directory Names: When you start typing the name of a file or directory, you can press the "Tab" key to autocomplete it.
If there's a single matching option, it will be completed for you. If there are multiple matching options, pressing "Tab" twice will display a list of all possible matches for you to choose from. For example, if you have files named "file1.txt" and "file2.txt," and you type cat f and then press "Tab," it will complete to cat file. Command Names: Tab completion also works for command names. When you start typing a command, pressing "Tab" will attempt to complete it. If you press "Tab" twice, it will list all available commands that match what you've typed so far. For example, if you start typing su and press "Tab," it might complete to sudo or sum. Pressing "Tab" twice will show you all available commands that start with "su." Directory Paths: Tab completion works with directory paths as well. You can start typing a directory path, and it will complete both directory names and the path itself. For example, if you want to navigate to the "/var/www" directory, you can type cd /v and then press "Tab" to autocomplete to cd /var/. Options and Arguments: Tab completion can also help you complete command options and arguments. For example, if you type ls -l /ho and press "Tab," it can autocomplete to ls -l /home/. Custom Tab Completion: You can create custom tab completion scripts or functions for specific commands or tasks. These scripts can provide tab-completable options and arguments based on your needs. Custom tab completion scripts are typically stored in files like /etc/bash_completion.d/ or loaded in your shell's profile configuration (e.g., .bashrc or .zshrc). Escaping Spaces: If you have spaces in your file or directory names, you can use backslashes or quotes to escape them. For example, if you have a file named "my file.txt," you can type cat my\ file.txt or cat "my file.txt" to use tab completion. Linux Command History and Recall Ever use a command only to find yourself in need of it again a short while later? Command history and recall allow you to quickly access commands that you have already run. A list of recent commands, each with a number attached, is displayed by the history command. An exclamation point (!) followed by the command number can be used to rerun a command (e.g.,!42 will rerun the 42nd command in your history). By pressing Ctrl + R and then entering a keyword from the command you're looking for, you can also search your command history. By using this feature, you can avoid typing lengthy, intricate commands again. Using Aliases in the Linux Shell Aliases are like custom shortcuts for your commands. You can create your own shorthand for frequently used or complex commands. For example, if you often find yourself typing ls -l to list files in long format, you can create an alias like this: bashCopy code alias ll='ls -al' After creating the alias, you can use ll instead of ls -al to list files. Linux Command Line Shortcuts Command line shortcuts are quick key combinations that help you navigate, edit, and control your terminal more efficiently. Here are a few essential shortcuts: Keyboard Shortcut Description CTRL + A Moves the cursor to the beginning of the line. CTRL + E Moves the cursor to the end of the line. CTRL + U Deletes text from the cursor to the beginning of the line. CTRL + K Deletes text from the cursor to the end of the line. CTRL + L Clears the terminal screen. CTRL + C Interrupts (stops) the current command. CTRL + D Exits the current shell or terminal session. CTRL + Z Suspends the current command (resumable with the fg command). Pipelines and Redirections in Linux command line Pipelines and redirections are powerful features in the Linux command line that allow you to manipulate input and output streams of commands, enabling you to perform complex tasks efficiently. Here's some examples of pipelines and redirections: Pipelines (|): Pipelines allow you to chain multiple commands together, passing the output of one command as the input to another.
This can be incredibly useful for processing and transforming data on the fly. For example, let's say you have a list of files in a directory, and you want to find all the files that contain a specific keyword: bashCopy code grep "keyword" *txt In this example, grep searches for the keyword in all txt files in the current directory. However, if you want to narrow down the results to only show the filenames containing the keyword, you can use a pipeline: bashCopy code grep -l "keyword" *txt | xargs -I basename Here, the grep command searches for the keyword and uses the -l option to list only the filenames. The | symbol passes this list of filenames to xargs, which then extracts the basename of each file, giving you a cleaner list of matching filenames. Redirections (>, >>, : Redirects the output of a command to a file, overwriting the file if it already exists. bashCopy code echo "Hello, world!" > output.txt >>: Redirects the output of a command to a file, but appends it to the file if it already exists. bashCopy code echo "Appended text" >> output.txt and 2>>: Redirects standard error (stderr) output to a file, overwriting or appending as needed. bashCopy code command_that_generates_error 2> error.log command_that_generates_error 2>> error.log Combining Redirection and Pipelines: You can combine redirection and pipelines to perform more complex operations. For instance, you can redirect the output of a command into a file and then use that file as input for another command. For example, you can sort the lines in a file and save the sorted result to another file: bashCopy code sort < input.txt > sorted_output.txt These are just a few Linux command line examples for pipelines and redirections. These facilitate data manipulation and process automation by enabling you to carry out an extensive array of tasks with efficiency and flexibility. Searching and Manipulating Text in the Linux Terminal Let us look at powerful tools and techniques available in the Linux command line for searching and manipulating text. These skills are useful in parsing log files, extracting specific information, and performing various text-related tasks efficiently. Searching for Text: grep: grep is a versatile command-line tool for searching text in files. It's often used with regular expressions for more complex searches. Basic usage: bashCopy code grep "pattern" file.txt Using regular expressions: bashCopy code grep -E "pattern1|pattern2" file.txt find: The find command is used to search for files and directories based on various criteria, including text content. Searching for files containing a specific text: bashCopy code find /path/to/search -type f -exec grep -l "pattern" \; ag (The Silver Searcher): An alternative to grep, ag is faster and more efficient for searching large codebases. Install it if it's not already available on your system. Basic usage: bashCopy code ag "pattern" /path/to/search Text Manipulation: sed (Stream Editor): sed is a powerful tool for text manipulation and transformation. It can be used to replace text, delete lines, and perform other operations. Replace text in a file: bashCopy code sed 's/old_text/new_text/g' file.txt awk: awk is a versatile text-processing tool that allows you to perform operations on text data, including filtering, formatting, and calculations. Print specific columns from a file: bashCopy code awk 'print $1, $3' file.txt cut: The cut command is used to remove sections from lines of files. Extract specific columns from a file: bashCopy code cut -d' ' -f1,3 file.txt sort: The sort command is used to sort lines in text files. Sorting a file alphabetically: bashCopy code sort file.txt uniq: uniq is used to remove duplicate lines from a sorted file. Removing duplicate lines from a sorted file: bashCopy code sort file.txt | uniq tr (Translate): tr is used for character-level text manipulation, such as translating or deleting characters.
Translate characters to uppercase: bashCopy code tr '[:lower:]' '[:upper:]' < file.txt cut and paste: The cut and paste commands can be used together to manipulate columns of text. Combining columns from two files: bashCopy code cut -f1 file1.txt > col1.txt cut -f2 file2.txt > col2.txt paste col1.txt col2.txt > combined.txt These are just a few examples of the many text-processing commands available in the Linux terminal. Depending on your specific needs, you can combine these commands and use them in scripts to perform more complex text manipulation tasks. Linux System Information and Troubleshooting In this chapter, we will explore essential tools and techniques for gathering system information, troubleshooting common issues, and monitoring resource usage in a Linux environment. These skills are convenient for maintaining system health and resolving problems effectively. Checking System Information (uname, df, free) To gain insights into your system’s configuration and resource utilization, you can use a variety of commands: Command Description Example uname Displays basic system information such as the kernel version and system architecture. Uname -a df Shows disk space usage, including information about disk partitions and their available space. df -h free Displays memory (RAM) usage information, including total, used, and available memory. free -m Linux System Logs and Troubleshooting (journalctl, dmesg) Troubleshooting system issues often involves examining logs and messages. Two key commands for this purpose are: – journalctl: The journalctl command provides access to the systemd journal, which contains logs for various system services and events. This tool enables you to view and filter log entries, making it invaluable for diagnosing system issues. To display recent system logs: bashCopy code journalctl -xe – dmesg: Additionally the dmesg command displays kernel ring buffer messages, which can be useful for diagnosing hardware-related problems. It specifically shows messages related to hardware detection, driver initialization, and system boot. To view kernel messages: bashCopy code dmesg | less Monitoring Resource Usage (htop) htop is an interactive and feature-rich process viewer and system monitor. Furthermore, it provides a real-time overview of system resource usage, including CPU, memory, and processes. It looks like this: To install htop use the following command: Debian/Ubuntu: bashCopy code sudo apt update sudo apt install htop CentOS/RHEL: bashCopy code sudo yum install epel-release # This is needed for EPEL repository on CentOS/RHEL 7 and earlier. sudo yum install htop Fedora: bashCopy code sudo dnf install htop htop is an excellent alternative to the basic top command. In addition, it offers a more user-friendly interface and additional features for monitoring and managing processes and system resources. How to Customize the Linux Terminal (color schemes, fonts) Customizing the Linux terminal can make your command-line experience more enjoyable and efficient. Here are several ways to customize the terminal to suit your preferences: Customizing the Prompt (PS1): To customize your command prompt, you can modify the PS1 environment variable in your shell configuration file (e.g., .bashrc for Bash). Here's an example of a custom Bash prompt: bashCopy code # Add the following line to your .bashrc file PS1='\[\e[32m\]\u@\h\[\e[m\]:\[\e[34m\]\w\[\e[m\]\$ ' \u displays the username. \h displays the hostname. \w displays the current working directory. \[\e[32m\] and \[\e[m\] change text color (in this case, green for the username and blue for the directory). Customizing Terminal Colors: Most terminal emulators allow you to customize text and background colors in their preferences. For example, in GNOME Terminal, you can navigate to "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Profiles" and click the "Edit" button for your profile. There, you can customize colors under the "Text" and "Background" tabs.
Aliases: Create aliases for frequently used commands or command sequences. Here's an example: bashCopy code # Add the following line to your .bashrc file alias ll='ls -al' After adding this alias, you can use ll in the terminal to list files and directories in long format with hidden files. Customizing Tab Completion: You can create custom tab completion behavior for specific commands. For example, let's create a simple completion for a custom script named my_script: bashCopy code # Add the following lines to your .bashrc file _my_script_completion() COMPREPLY=($(compgen -W "option1 option2 option3" -- "$COMP_WORDS[COMP_CWORD]")) complete -F _my_script_completion my_script This completion script suggests options ("option1," "option2," "option3") when you tab-complete my_script in the terminal. Customizing Key Bindings: You can customize key bindings in your shell by adding entries to your shell's configuration file. For example, to bind the Ctrl+L key combination to clear the terminal screen: bashCopy code # Add the following line to your .bashrc file bind -x '"\C-l": clear' After adding this line, pressing Ctrl+L will clear the terminal screen. Using Oh My Zsh or Powerline: If you're using Zsh, you can install Oh My Zsh or Powerline to customize your prompt and add plugins. Here's how to install Oh My Zsh: bashCopy code sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.github.com/ohmyzsh/ohmyzsh/master/tools/install.sh)" After installation, you can change the Zsh theme and customize plugins in the ~/.zshrc file. Using a Custom Terminal Font: You can change your terminal font through your terminal emulator's settings. For example, in GNOME Terminal, go to "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Profiles" > "Text" to select a custom font.

Former co-owner of Yoast, Marieke van de Rakt, followed her husband, Joost de Valk, in stepping away from the popular Yoast WordPress SEO Plugin company. The move ushers in a new era under the ownership of Newfold Digital. Yoast SEO – Marieke van de Rakt Yoast SEO plugin, arguably one of the most popular and important plugins in the world, was founded in 2010 by Joost de Valk and co-owned with his wife, Marieke van de Rakt. Marieke van de Rakt had many roles at Yoast, including Managing Director, CEO, Creative marketing manager and her most recent position at the company, Chief Growth Officer. She was with the company during a period of remarkable growth when it grew from a bootstrapped plugin to the a multi-million dollar company employing over 140 people. Her departure follows the sale of Yoast to the leading web presence solution provider, Newfold Digital, in August 2021. This milestone is part of a steady transition away from the original team of Marieke van de Rakt, Joost de Valk and his younger brother, Thijs de Valk to a team as part of Newfold Digital. Newfold Digital is home to top brands such as Bluehost, HostGator, Web.com and Network Solutions. Yoast SEO Company Culture Remains Although the company is transitioning to new leadership, many of the leaders within the company remain, ensuring that the company values nurtured by the original team continue as part of its DNA. Head of Marketing at Yoast SEO, Sam Alderson, commented on how Yoast will continue to be the same company that people around the world are familiar with. Current Yoast COO Chaya Oosterbroek and CTO Derek Herman will continue as part of the leadership at Yoast. Sam offered the following observations to Search Engine Journal about the future of Yoast SEO: “Chaya and Derek together are still running the company as our executive team. We also have a strong leadership team supporting them and focusing on what this next phase of Yoast looks like. Each of them are strong believers in WordPress and open source and will carry our mission of “SEO for everyone” forward. In that team, we have Taco, who is heavily involved in the WordPress community and is well-loved there. Jono, our Head of SEO who has over 10 years of experience in the SEO world and is also very involved in the core of WordPress continues at Yoast. Myself as Head of Branding, will also work to carry forward the Yoast culture and our core values. Marieke is leaving us in an excellent place, and since the acquisition she has been sharing her knowledge with the team. We have a lot on the horizon and everyone is excited to see what this new phase of Yoast looks like.” The official Yoast announcement stated: “Whilst we’ll be sad to see Marieke leaving, it’s a positive reflection on the stability of the company and brand that she’s able to do so safely and happily. Marieke has spent the last few months working with our teams, ensuring that her wisdom and vision is passed on successfully. “ New Phase for Yoast SEO There is no doubt that the company culture of nurturing open source through their contributions to the WordPress core and to creating the leading SEO plugin in the world will continue.
Eh bien, GoDaddy a répondu.
Finissons 2022 !
