Govs devastated by new naira policy because they can’t buy votes again: Sanusi . . A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, claims governors are angry with the new naira policy because they will not be able to buy votes during the February 25 and March 11 elections. On Sunday, Mr Sanusi advised would-be voters to disregard the governors and other politicians’ opposition to the naira swap. “It is the politicians’ plan to leverage the people’s poor conditions to buy their votes during the election period,” said the former emir of Kano. “That is why they are suffering the most from the naira redesign policy as they will not be able to use the money stolen over all these years to buy the people’s votes, bribe the police, the judges.” Mr Sanusi added, “Therefore, the naira redesign has affected their plans for the coming election since they cannot bring the money to the open for swapping. Their criticism of the policy is not for the good of Nigerians but for themselves.” He stressed that “this election is not about who has more money, political influence, or thuggery. It is about ensuring good governance.” #sanusilamidosanusi #cbn #nigeria #newnairanotes #mycelebrityandi #governors #money https://www.instagram.com/p/Co4JIcurQlt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Supreme Court adjourns Naira redesign case till March 3 The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned a case instituted by the state governments against the Federal Government challenging the implementation of the naira redesign. The apex court adjourned the case to March 3 for judgement. At least 17 states have joined a consolidated suit demanding the prohibition of President Muhammadu Buhari from suddenly implementing the redesign of the national currency. The Supreme Court, after hearing from dozens of lawyers on both governors and federal government’s sides, said a judgement would be delivered on the matter next month. The judgment date will be after the presidential election on February 25. The court had previously issued an order saying the old notes should remain in circulation. Arguments during today’s hearing focused on a contempt decision against Attorney-General Abubakar Malami, who had failed to implement the court’s decision for old notes to keep circulating until a substantive ruling on the matter. The states, including Kaduna and Lagos, sued the Buhari regime earlier this month, arguing that implementing a change of banknotes at this time would h¥rt citizens. Banks have not been able to make available new notes to Nigerians, which has caused economic hardships. The Central Bank of Nigeria, which introduced the new notes on Mr Buhari’s directive, said it would try to make available the much-sought N500 and N1,000 notes. #newnairanote #oldnairanote #nairanote #9jafastlinknews https://www.instagram.com/p/Co-R0VqqUkW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Intercontinental bank was the first bank I had an account with, I remember, I think 2008 or 2009 when there's a rumor that they are closing done . Close down kẹ, kí ojú má rí ibi, I went straight to the bank to withdraw my money (😂the money wasn't up to N20k ó) but they mustn't close down with my money with them. Getting to the bank that day, I saw several others with same mission, the bankers were saying they aren't closing down that it's a lie 🤥, my friend if you wanna close down will you even dare to tell us that, please give me my money, I filled out the teller and withdraw efritin and later deposit it again 😁. They later merge with access bank in 2013. I still have the account. That my account number of intercontinental bank, long ehn, I think it was 14 figures then, I was still able to memorize it, but not as easy as the 10 figures we have now. Even with the 10 NUBAN, not everyone knows their account number, some don't even know their phone numbers by heart. BTW, which was once your bank? Don't forget to drama no dey finish for Naija, just ensure you have enough data to keep you connected, productive and busy anytime, anywhere. #shoparenaconnect #dataislife #dataseller #iyavisibilitypro #databundles #mtndatabundles #veronicasdaughter #womeninbusinessng #womeninbwari #naijabanks #muslimahdatavendor #datavendor #triciabiz #mimilahot_blog #mtn5g #datadeal #datadealsng #datadealoftheday #awoofdata #datasubscription #newnairanotes #naijacurrency #naijabank #thewinninggeng #naijabrandchick #shoparenaconnect_ #banktransfers #mtndata #buyerskonnect (at Ibadan, Nigeria) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoKCMtUDD2U/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

CBN orders banks to collect old N500, N1,000 notes The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has directed Deposit Money Banks to collect old N500, and N1,000 notes from customers with reference code generated from its website. Multiple bank sources told @goldmynetv that the branches received a directive from the head office some hours ago that they should collect the old notes from their customers who have enrolled and generated reference code from the CBN website. A top CBN official confirmed the directive: “Yes we have directed them to collect the old N500 and N1,000 from customers.” Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari directed that the old N500 and N1,000 notes were no longer legal tenders, but that those having the notes should take the notes to the CBN. Consequently, the CBN opened a portal for people with the old N500 and N1,000 notes to register how much they want to deposit and to get a reference code to confirm there registration. The reference code will be used to deposit the old notes at any of the CBN offices across the country. Investigation however revealed that the CBN might have allowed the banks to collect the old notes from their customers following the huge number of people that besieged it’s offices to deposit the old N500 and N1,000. A top bank official and branch head told Vanguard, that the branch will collect old notes from customers tomorrow Saturday as the branch did not open to customers today due to fear of attack. #cbn #oldnairanotes #newnairanotes #nigeria #mycelebrityandi https://www.instagram.com/p/CoxAeiHIC8d/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Steps To Follow In Depositing Old Naira Notes In Line With CBN Directives Here are the steps to follow: 1. Visit the CBN website and fill out an online form to generate a code or go along with the money to the nearest CBN branch in your state to obtain the form and fill. 2. Go along with any means of identification card. 3. A teller would be issued to you at the CBN branch and the old notes will be collected and deposited into your accounts. The operation starts from 9 am to 2 pm, from February 15 to 17. The CBN Branch Controller in Bauchi, Haladu Idris Andaza revealed this step while on Tuesday morning that the old notes were no longer legal tender. She said, “So for the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state categorically that CBN is ready and is open to receiving all of those old notes based on certain conditions and criteria. Customers are free to come to the Bank and deposit which they cannot do at the Commercial Banks anymore because the currency has been seized to be legal tender since the 10th of this month. “Consequently, the management of the CBN decided that those customers will have a sigh of relief by coming to the offices of the CBN in all the 36 states in the Federation including FCT to deposit their money. “The customer has to go to the CBN portal and fill a form in the portal, there will be a form there concerning this currency redesign and exchange. After filling out the form, you generate a code, you either print it or come with it on your mobile phone, and give us the code and the information contained therein. In the form, you are expected to provide all the basic information about yourself, your account details and the amount you want to deposit. “By the time you have done it correctly, you come to the CBN where the code will be accepted from you as well as the money, process and confirm the genuineness or otherwise of the money to avoid receiving fake notes because there are some fake notes in circulation now.” #cbn #oldnairanotes #newnairanotes #nigeria #mycelebrityandi https://www.instagram.com/p/Cop7AtKLKQC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
