Day 4: Grunt
Scientist redesign! Based it off of Honchkrow because the original didn’t really have a Pokèmon inspiration, just plague doctors. The tail works like a defibrillator and there’s a electrical pack or socket on the suit’s back to power it. I also made the mask more like a gas mask because I think there could be some weird Tera chemicals or something.

12 for Lar and Nocturne, and 14 for Maharth!!
OMG, I JUST FOUND THIS HI!! Sorry if you asked a while ago I haven't checked my inbox in a while.
Anyway, to answer your questions, whenever Lar is finally stable enough to be out on his own, I still think he'd live with Nocturne. He's grown so attached to him it’s the most reasonable conclusion. Plus, some extra company is nice. I think they would live in a small home in Medali, of course, and the idea of Lar just running a little mechanics shop where he builds and fixes things makes me so happy. He could tell some stories of his adventures in his original timeline (he's just got to keep it PG for the little kids it can get gruesome) Sure, there will be wrinkles to iron out in some relationships (mainly Geeta) but he’ll get through it. Nocturne would probably continue with his psychology career, he feels good helping others. He also joins in on some of the stories and tells his own when he's off of work. TLDR: Old Man Yaoi is post-canon
I think Maharth would listen to some of the popular genres from the 1930s, mainly swing and blues. He's got the whole 1930s noir detective aesthetic going on so I think he'd like the music from the time. It was also the early stages of rock and roll, so maybe McCoy and Darklord showed him how much the rock scene has evolved since he really isn't up to date on everything.

Been thinking about Lar’s redemption. (TW FOR PTSD, PANIC/ANXIETY ATTACKS, BIPOLAR, SELF HARM, AND MENTIONS OF THE HOSPITAL STAFF BEING SHITTY! Also, I'm not an expert on this stuff, so if there's anything wrong, please let me know.)
Lar is taken to court to decide what his punishment is for almost restarting a time loop and is sent to a psych ward, as he is deemed mentally unstable by whatever Pokèmon government official decides. Because of his high levels of instability, the doctors recommended moving him to the mental hospital to get better treatment and more experienced staff. After a long explanation from Nocturne, Lar agreed to go, dreading the worst.
Lar thinks of the hospital as a prison at first. If he's confined in an enclosed space away from everyone and he can only talk to his thoughts, yeah, that's prison.
Hates everyone and everything. Doesn't want to be there AT ALL. Some doctors truly want to help Lar, but he sees the cracks in the people who are there to just get paid. Or the greedy Grumpigs exploiting the vulnerable. It makes him feel even more unsure of his healing process.
Speaking of vulnerability, he is in the most vulnerable state in his life. He's so stressed and scared and angry at the world and just wants to get his power back so he can feel better.
With all of the security of the hospital and the constant checking on him by doctors and guards, he feels he's being watched all the time. Even the paintings are starting to freak him out.
He still has his metal arm, but Nocturne had to rework it to remove the more destructive effects to keep everyone safe. It can still pack a punch though, it's a metal arm.
Some features were too difficult for Nocturne to remove from either physical or technological limitations, so Lar has a few tricks up his sleeve (literally.) I think Lar would put hidden tools in his arm in case of any mechanical emergency. Most were removed, but the small ones in the fingers weren't because of how small the plates were, and Nocturne couldn't remove them, though he tried to remedy this by shutting down the system to activate them. Lar worked around this, removing one of the fingers to remove the plate of another to have a small tool to get the others. I also think he'd have some secret random things that Nocturne never knew existed until Lar got bored one day and decided to show it off or tinker with it in some way.
Speaking of which, I think Lar would get super into technology and machinery after having to learn the skills for his original position in the future timeline. He basically speedran an engineering degree during a time loop to cause more chaos.
I think Lar would develop some form of undiagnosed Bipolar Disorder from the trauma. He never noticed how severe it was because he thought the repeated loops were messing with him and his changing moods were par for the course.
He'd go into a planning frenzy when in mania. What's he planning? Anything that comes to his mind really. Most of them are not good ideas. He memorized the hospital layout so he can sneak around secretly indulge in his kleptomania.
One time he successfully did a heist to steal the hospital’s medical documents about him. Things did not go well for him mentally after that.
I also thought of a heist where he'd steal the owner of the hospital’s super fancy and expensive record player out of spite. He'd do some crazy stuff with it, one thing being he somehow wired the sound to Talon’s vocal cords and the music plays when Lar opens the beak. This gives him a new love of vintage vinyl records.
He also has heightened anger issues and alertness in mania, you can't get as close as six feet from him (unless you're Nocturne)
He checks and rechecks every inch of his room or any places he's made himself comfortable in the ward for any discrepancies, it keeps his focus off the horrors of his mind.
Whether from built-up energy, anger, or stress, he can barely sleep. Like. Ever.
He feels like he can't fucking die ever. Like he can fight a Roaring Moon with his bare hands. He can't.
In depression, he’s just the worst. Doesn't listen to anyone and just wants to wallow in a ball of guilt on his mattress is as hard as a Stonjourner.
He'd have a lot of delusions and memory loss, which he HATES. His mind and memory are basically all he had at this point, and now he's losing it! Even if was the most minute of things (for example, forgetting the middle name of a little kid who gave him something for his Pokèmon who probably doesn't exist in his current timeline anymore) he will freak. He may have Athazagoraphobia, the fear of forgetting someone, something, and/or being forgotten.
He PANICS when he thinks he's forgotten something. He starts hyperventilating and gripping his chest in pain. If it's really bad, he'll start to lash out, destroying things and attacking people he sees as a threat (which, unfortunately, is most of the people who work at the hospital in the spur of the moment) That also sometimes means himself, which is also really bad.
He had one of his most severe panic attacks when his Staraptor was taken and he woke up without him for the first time. Multiple people were sent to the hospital that day.
He sometimes has visual hallucinations. He sees eyes watching him, black glitchy monsters, and fire. Lots of fire. They’re extremely realistic at times, even the monsters, they’re almost like horrifying Ultra Beasts.
He does anything to get rid of the monsters, even though they aren’t really there, most of the solutions involving violence. He’s hurt himself multiple times thinking the monsters were climbing his legs.
He used to have Talon let him know that they were there, but when he was taken away, he had no reliable way to know wether they aren’t there. After a few months without someone to help him perceive real from fake, they finally got him a service Pokèmon.
The new service Pokèmon is a Persian named Jewel and she was professionally trained by some Pokèmon trainers in Alfornada. She helps Lar detect hallucinations and acts as an emotional support animal.
During the events where the hospital gathers a group of patients to do something together, it depends on who’s supervising Lar so that he can have a good time. If one of the good doctors who care for helping others bond and heal is there, it's good. If it's one of the bad doctors who only care about filling their pockets, it's bad. He also doesn't mind most of the group things they do, but when it's crafts day, you know he's gonna be using those engineering skills to make a masterpiece out of popsicle sticks and glue.
When he’s either overwhelmed or wants time away from the group he has a corner next to some bookshelves that the other patients just decided was his spot (look at “assigned” seats at middle school lunch) He usually just sits there, either reading, poking holes in the cover of the seat he has there, or taking a nap.
Nocturne was able to convince Geeta to be his therapist after a long time of arguing. Lar thinks Nocturne is the only consistently good thing in the hospital and savors every second with him.
Nocturne is actually an awesome therapist and you cannot convince me otherwise. Being a therapist is his therapy. He actually does one of those online university things and gets a scholarship in psychology. Or he does go to a physical location and work as Lar’s therapist as a job, extra credit, and to get experience with working with other patients moving forward.
The two spending time with each other helps them realize how fucked up they both are. They both have extreme PTSD caused by each other and they feel so bad about it. Lar still apologizes profusely every now and then when he doesn't need to, just to make sure they're cool now.
Lar is very clingy and hates when Nocturne has to leave. He knows he has an allotted amount of time each day with him, but he can't help it. It's gotten much better since the beginning.
I see Lar hating physical touch most of the time because of his paranoia and trust issues. Nocturne gets a pass though.
Nocturne truly wants the best for Lar after seeing all he's gone through and learning how his mind has poorly handled it.
I think maybe Nocturne is too eager to help, kind of babying Lar. I think he’d ignore it at first, but then get a bit irritated later on. He thinks he’s healed enough to do most things on his own.
On the other side of this, Lar has trouble asking for help on his own. He thinks he can handle it, he’s been through enough, he can handle this. A lot of times he pushes people away and tries to do it himself when he clearly needs help. Nocturne is scared that Lar blocking him out will be the death of him.
They're probably gay.
While doing mainly psychological therapy, he also has some knowledge of physical therapy. He helps soothe Lar if he injures himself and keeps those pesky scar pains away. Also, phantom limb pain for both of them.
Nocturne sometimes sneaks his Staraptor or Dundunsparce during therapy. This makes Lar very happy.
This may be some projection, but I think Nocturne could help Lar heal with ✨art✨
Nocturne learned about all the little things in life during his quest to defeat Lar in the present timeline with Mikey, who started some sort of art thing requested by one of the gym leaders on his break. Nocturne got into it too and realized how much it helped, so he passed it onto Lar.
Lar thought it was stupid at first, but it grew on him a little. I say that and now he's in the process of creating a mural of all his friends in the time loop and in his current timeline. Yeah, it was only a little.
I also think he'd write down a lot of his thoughts, it's what he did with the time loop planning and documentation, so he was used to it. He has a couple of journals full of his play-by-play of his time and his thoughts about it that only Nocturne and a few select doctors have permission to read. He’d fucking kill someone if they read his journals without permission.
Hassel and Rika consistently see him during visitation hours, but some others come sporadically. Lots of happy tears from the three.
They talk about how things are outside the hospital and how the league, gym leaders, and school are doing. Any sweet gossip and drama piques Lar’s interest, especially any controversies surrounding Geeta. “Talon, popcorn me” *Talon then pulls out leftover caramel popcorn that Nocturne got him*
Hassel and Rika also get the physical touch pass, they’re almost secondary therapists to him.
I think Arven would take over his gym position since it's food-based and he at least has a Greedunt and can terastalize his Mabosstiff if he wants. I also think Mikey would take over his Elite Four position since he is the master of flying types.
Katy, Kofu, and Saguaro bring snacks for Lar when they visit, he's glad he can have some variety in food.
The other gym leaders visit periodically, but most of them are too busy to come often. It's always a nice treat to see Hassel bring Brassius along or Ryme drop in after a show to hang out.
Geeta has come a few times, but most visits did not end well. One day, Geeta came to apologize. Lar understood why and he wants to forgive her, but he just… can’t. Like his body physically won’t let him forgive her. She’s been the root of most of not all of his problems throughout his life and he just doesn’t know how he can forgive her for that. He jus says he needs more time.
I think Lar could befriend some of the younger patients and be some sort of eccentric uncle figure. He also does surprisingly well with the teens that come and go.
He'd be very distant at first, but when some sweet patient who doesn't deserve to be in there comes up to talk, it really opens his eyes.
Many new patients are scared of him when they first are admitted (I mean, who wouldn't be?) but they warm up to each other.
He gets a bit bittersweet when any friends he makes at the hospital have to go. He knows that it's good that they've healed enough and they don't have to deal with this place anymore, but they're still his friends and he misses them. He's at least glad that he made their time a bit better.

Got an armor design for Larry!
I made him the leader of the Suns’ Air Force since he has a flying-type team and no one else wanted to take the role. They say he's been cursed, but he doesn't care.
He's got a retractable tail blade on his suit that he requested so he could do some extra damage and defend himself from behind.
His cape is a makeshift parachute for emergency exits from any flying aircraft or Pokèmon. They also resemble bird wings so he could glide if he'd like.
His helmet is based on Dundunsparce because he didn't want to scare the people he was trying to rescue thinking he was a part of Team Nightsky.
That's it! Just wanted to get this out a while ago but I've put it off. 😅

They get to cuddle while Larry just has an entire mental breakdown in Nocturne’s lap
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’d be funny and gay if when Larry does finally get therapy in his prison he has to cycle through six shitty therapists and then Nocturne visits and is like, “You know what? I'll be his therapist.”
Yay, Sona!! Another Xero!

More Night Sky Time Loop AU (it's mainly Larry but he's really cool, okay?)
TW FOR MENTIONS OF ALCOHOL, MAJOR INJURY, AND MURDER!
Starting with the good ending universe first cause it has less:
Mikey is so confused and paranoid and tells Winona on a video call the night of cause he needs someone to talk to. Of course, Winona comforts him the best she can.
I don't think Mikey would drink alcohol but becomes more inclined to do so after the time machine incident. (Only a little though, he doesn't become an alcoholic.)
One night, he drunkenly confesses everything about the time machine to Larry. Larry, being one of the most autistic-coded characters I've seen in Pokemon, doesn't exactly know what to do, he just listens and gives a couple of awkward hugs.
Also, Mikey has a tiny crush on Larry, but his heart is with Winona. (Bi Mikey supremacy.)
Time for the bad ending:
Mikey is like an evil sidekick to Nikey while they go about their plan to build the time machine, but the kind of evil sidekick like Henchmen from Megamind.
That is until he loses his eye and his mentor, either by the time machine and/or by Larry. Basically, Nikey dies after a while of “bonding” and then Mikey becomes the evil soggy paper towel that is Nikey. He also has Nikey’s memories since he was taught them by his original Nikey. (That looks so confusing LMAO.)
Larry trying to tell everyone, mainly Geeta, Hassel, and Rika, about the time loop was… a process. It was probably the most animated state he'd been in at the time.
He showed all of his recordings from his computer, but everyone dismissed him, telling Larry he was going crazy, which he has.
Larry’s main goal for most of the time is to find a way to break the loop so he, and by extension everyone, can be free of the torment that they don't even know they're going through.
Larry would start out doing good things, fighting with the resistance against Team Night Sky.
I think Winona being the leader of the entire resistance, fitting for her character, would make her pass out on the spot, so she made several branches to keep the people safe in other regions while she's busy.
The Paldean resistance is governed by Geeta since she's the top champion, and it is called the Suns of Paldea.
(Get it? I based it off the Sons of Liberty during the American Revolution, even though that would be more of a Unova thing.)
After at least ten loops, Larry finds that doing the right thing has done nothing to break it and starts stressing. He still goes through all of the good options, albeit begrudgingly.
After doing every good option he could think of, he starts taking risks, using sleight-of-hand tricks to steal some pocket money, breaking and entering to interrogate a suspect for something, and “accidentally” leaving Night Sky members to die. (Well, that escalated quickly.)
Then he starts going to the extreme, sabotaging, torturing and even going on a genocidal killing spree a couple of times.
Because of this, he's extremely two-faced, changing his personality at the drop of a hat. For example, he has a normal personality around the resistance but changes into a cynical bloodthirsty monster when confronting Nikey.
One time he was “fixing” a smoke detector when he was actually replacing it with a bomb. He went through so many loops that he figured out the exact time when Nikey broke into the league building so he could set it off.
Larry, Geeta, Hassel, and Rika were all in the room when Nikey and Mikey broke in to commandeer the building. When Larry was chased out by Mikey, he set off the bomb, killing everyone still in the room and blasting him and Mikey through the opposite wall.
Mikey was able to throw out one of his Pokemon to get to safety, only losing his eye, but the debris of the explosion hit Larry, brutally injuring his right arm and knocking him unconscious.
A couple of law enforcements found him unconscious and took him to the hospital where he had to get his arm amputated and replaced with a robotic one.
The thing about the loop, however, is that any sustained injuries stay with the person if they're large enough. Because of this, Larry now has to hide a robot arm every time the loop happens, which is easier because his league outfit is a suit and gloves.
After his killing sprees, Larry was just burnt out for a while, just letting things happen and doing a bit of evil when he got the inspiration. (Same man.)
Holy crap that was long uh. I said I was going to expand on this so… I guess I did 😅
