I like the idea of Geeta being a Ki-rin and being a protector of a Paldea equivalent landmass. I just think they look really cool and could inform a really cool design for Larry, since they’re bound together.

Way of the Sun Soul for Kabu could give him sun imagery, which I like, and with Larry’s Celestial background I could give him star imagery. Then who would be the moon?

Idea: Nanu as a Tabaxi (in reference to his Alolan Persian and his many Alolan Meowths) rogue faction agent (faction agent to reference his involvement with the police. You could also multi class in warlock or cleric to include his bond with Tapu Bulu) to finish our old man trio and add the moon imagery I want. Not required, but I think it would be cool!

Also, I would love a story where three old men do their best to save the world despite their pasts (and joint problems lol)

larry's patron is geeta. she's "the boss" as he says. anytime "the boss" calls, its geeta asking him to do some favors to keep up their pact, with the reason he's so freaking tired all the time being hes running around faerun/baldurs gate doing tasks for her.

bonus he gets to have some cool powers in his back pocket he never has a use for. unless. 😏😏😏😏🐙😲

would be fuuuun if she was a celestial ?? so he could have access to healing and radiant magics. most depressed man in the world seen casting sun beams and healing spells @ you is a rly funny image ^_^

(tho he would probably use summon familiar a lottttt. bro gets lonely he needs his funny critters. i also want to see him cast eldritch blast for the first time and absolutely incinerate the enemy in one go that'd be funny as hell)

and uhmmm propaganda for zariel tiefling kabu. his species based traits would be these 😁 :

Tieflings have Darkvision and Hellish Resistance: Your blood protects you from flame, abyssal or otherwise. You have resistance to Fire and take only half damage from it.

plus kabu w/ horns n tail n awesome spikes would be sick as hell i think. battle scars from fighting demons n shit. hell yeah. kabu could ALSO summon a familiar and it would be funny if he had a quasit i think. like.......... freaking thang alert watch out.

I personally have not interacted much with Bg3, but I LOVE general DND stuff and OUUGH THIS IS SOOOO GOOD!!

I love Warlock Larry, it feels like the class was made specifically for him. Geeta being “Da Boss” is also perfect, she does have patron energy.

I have two ideas on how Larry would become a Warlock in the first place, one is serious one is silly. Serious option: he desperately calls upon the celestial Geeta so he is able to help heal either a person (probably Rika or Hassel since this would be before he and Kabu would meet) or one of his Pokémon (if they don’t exist in this world, just a regular pet), and then they create a contract so he can help people more reliably and has an excuse to travel and eat good food while helping others. Silly one: he thought he was signing up for a regular job and accidentally created a pact with Geeta and he now has to live with it.

From what I looked up, Zariel is an entity not a class, at least in base DND, but I do like the fire powers that Kabu gets here, because, y’know, he’s a fire type trainer. I would also like to make the case of Kabu also being a Monk, maybe with Way of the Soul Sun, since his demeanor lends well to the Monk’s ability to exercise both the body and mind into devastating blows. Also, I think a Monk Tiefling would be cool idk man.

I also like Kabu having a Quasit and treating it like a dog, it’s very amusing to me.

So, the other day, when I was discussing AO3's policy on solicitation, a tumblr user came at me saying that AO3's "no monetization/solicitation" rules were "bullshit" because nexus mods allows fan created mods to get paid.

Look at me.

AO3 protects you.

AO3 protects you and your works. 

It protects your works from copyright strikes and DCMA takedowns.

It protects your work from advertisers.

It protects your work from overzealous legal challenges.

It protects your right to post adult content.

AO3 is non-profit and AO3 will never try to use you or your work to make a profit for themselves and AO3 will go to bat for you if someone tries to legally challenge you or your works.

Please respect AO3 and its mission.

PSA: Your Comics Are (probably) Being Stolen!

Our team loves to promote ethical voice dubbing, so when I discovered a YouTube channel with over 1 million subscribers that posts near exclusively AI “dubs” of comics from Tumblr, I decided to inform the artists to make sure they knew that their work was being used by an AI creator.

Out of the artists who responded to my messages, exactly ZERO of them were even given notice or asked for permission to use the comic on their channel, including an artist that specifically disallows dubs without explicit permission from them. Additionally, all of them expressed distaste for the usage of AI, and some of them expressed that they would’ve been okay with it had they used real voice actors.

(this is just two examples, 6 artists total informed me they did not give permission)

On top of this, according to one of the comments from the “dubber” themselves, their shorts are MONETIZED, meaning that not only are they exploiting the work of artists for social gain, they are also exploiting it for monetary gain.

To their credit, they have linked the blogs of the original creators of the comics, but to many artists that is not enough, especially considering they are using AI to dub the comics. And let’s be honest, asking the artist is the bare minimum before using their work in your videos.

What should I do?

If you are a comic artist (especially for the Deltarune or Vocaloid fandoms) I suggest you scroll through their channel to check if any of YOUR art is being used without your permission. If you don’t have the time or don’t want to spend your effort searching, please message me; I would be happy to check for you.

If you do find that one of your comics is being used and you wish for it to get removed, you have a couple options:

Contact them through their Discord listed in their channel description.

Report the video to YouTube under “Legal Issue” -> “Copyright Issue”

The second method is substantially more work, and will probably deliver a strike to the creator. I strongly suggest contacting them first for removal. However, the “dubber”’s work is most likely not protected under fair use as it is (a) commercial, as the videos are monetized, and (b) most likely not substantially transformative. So it has a decent chance of being removed if you make a claim.

OBVIOUSLY, do not use this information as an excuse to manhunt or attack them. While I do believe that they are using these comics unethically, that doesn't mean they should be threatened or attacked in any way.

To the “Dubber”, if you’re reading this:

Please, please use your platform of over 1 million subscribers to uplift and promote both voice actors and comic artists alike, rather than contribute to the slop that has filled the internet to the brim in the past few years. You have the opportunity to enrich these spaces of the internet, rather than damage them. You have worked with voice actors in the past, I know you are capable of doing it.
