Princess Niraen Chauderon of Garedia for @olivia-loves-sims Medieval Bachelor Challenge
Princess Niraen is the second and last child of former Garedia king Straxon. Her father, King Straxon, is a powerful spellcaster, and her mother is member of a noble family from Tatrea. Although she is a hybrid, she has no magic power. She was accepted as a princess, but was not declared one of the heirs because of Garedia laws. After the death of King Straxon, her brother Vadius became King. She always grew up knowing that her marriage would be for her country. Still, she believes that she will have love as in the books she read. She is extremely cheerful and good. Almost everyone in her country loves her. Everyone, including her brother, thinks that if she had magic, Niraen would be a perfect queen. She often visits the academy at Garedia, spends time with researchers and learns new things. She also often leaves the palace and visits the city. She has been a reliable link between the people and the King. She has grown up by training in many fields since her childhood. Although she could not cast a spell, she learned the ancient language of Garedia. She can speak four languages fluently, except for the ancient language and her mother tongue. She plays the piano very well. For the last few years, she has been interested in painting and has been trained by some of Garedia's most famous painters. But her education was incomplete when she went to King Demetrius' country to win his heart.
Some Facts
# She is almost 17 years old.
# She is very good with people.
# She loves reading books.
# She has always been curious about other countries and cultures, but has never been out of Garedia before.
# Her favorite color is blue, which is also the royal color of her kingdom.

@nightingaletrash and I decided we had to screenshot our OCs together because they’re awful and we love them.
Top row: Caecilia Quintus and Cassandra Arctos, aka “Imperials annoyed by everyone’s stupidity”
Middle row: Niraen Rilis and Casaia Barillion, aka “ridiculously attractive Altmer warriors, men weep because they can never have them, totally unconspicious in the middle of Daggerfell”
Bottom row: Ellinor Vaun and Ellie Tyrne, aka “baby-faced stabby murder children”

Delphine: it doesn't matter if Paarthurnax has spent thousands of years atoning for his crimes. He has to die. That's the duty of the Blades!
Niraen 'co-founder of the Blades' predecessor who spiritually bonded with the non-hostile dragon that they spared' Rilis: funny, I thought it was the Blades' duty to fuck up and cause problems :)
Venaya 'also co-founder of said order, also the Nerevarine' Sero: don't forget the duty to do skooma

Hircine: I'm proud of my child for embracing her lycanthropy and refusing a cure for the sake of these Skaal, but you know what would make me even prouder?
Hircine: if she slaughtered those same Skaal :)

Orion had a brief tenure with Azandar after running away from home, during which he definitely bitched about Niraen. Because while he doesn't hate his older sister the way Kyriel does, he was exhausted by her and the mere mention of her could feel suffocating, so he definitely had a lot to get off of his chest. And Azandar decided just to dislike this woman on principle.
Fast forward to Necrom, and Azandar finally meets Niraen and is just as shocked as Orion to find out that she's not only Fate's Chosen (okay, only Azandar is shocked about that) but she's not the stuffy, perfect older sister he's heard about, she's actually a bit too blasé about fighting Daedric Princes to be sane, and is also a werewolf, and doesn't die when flinging herself off of cliffs. It's weird and fascinating and actually she's not all that bad!
Azandar's initial disdain for Niraen is combated at every turn and he feels bad because damn it, he's supposed to dislike her for his former student's sake!

oof, so I'm at that point in Bloodmoon where you either cure your lycanthropy or become a werewolf. Thing is, Niraen has been a werewolf for a very long time already and has long since come to terms with her condition. Her lycanthropy is a part of her and she won't part with it just to satisfy the Skaal, so it looks like she might be forced to walk Hircine's path if she's gonna figure out wtf is going on here

the Veya conversation in full if you ‘killed’ her in Balmora
I’m gonna play through the quest with my spared Veya character tomorrow to see how it might effect the overall tone and dialogue with Naryu, but yeah, I can’t help it, I’m salty that we’re still going for the ‘she deserved to die’ angle and that the Vestige isn’t even given the option of indicate some kind of remorse. It’s all just ‘she made her choice, the real Veya died in Balmora, it’s no one’s fault but her own’ when Naryu and the Vestige made themselves responsible for her in Balmora.
I know they were never going to handle this topic in a way that would satisfy me, but just letting the Vestige have some kind of compassion or remorse would have gone a long way. Instead it’s just more ‘I did what I had to’ with no indication of any guilt.

Soooo Venaya has corprus now, and I've spent a lot of this playthrough trying to figure out how that'll work with her whole Immortal-Vestige/Daedric-Goop deal because there needs to be actual consequence to her contracting the disease. Like, she can't just kill herself and come back magically healed.
So I figure that even if she does die, when she reforms, she still has corprus, and it always resumes from the starting stages of the disease. So without a cure, she could reach a point of unbearable agony, die by accident/on purpose, and then just start all over from the beginning and re-experience the whole disease all over again :)
Because corprus wasn't fucked up already.

Venaya's experiences with the Mages Guild be like:
2nd Era: go collect some books. What?! Shalidor wants you to be embroiled in his homoerotic drama with Sheogorath?! You'll need to collect some books to solve this!
3rd Era: go get some mushrooms, put this fake soul gem in my rival's desk, now go get this guy to join our club - if he refuses, murder him ^^
