Legendary Children's Troubadour Raffi Announces New Album "Penny Penguin"

Craft Recordings announces the release of Penny Penguin, the 24th studio album from legendary children’s musician and global troubadour, Raffi, in collaboration with the JUNO award-winning folk-pop trio, Good Lovelies. Arriving on CD and digital platforms on April 19th, Penny Penguin features 14 tracks that kids and families will love, including “JIMBO,” “The Birdies Sing,” and the title track.  Fans of all ages can now enjoy “Penny Penguin” on streaming platforms, while the song’s video (which showcases drawings of the title character submitted by Raffi fans aged 10 years and younger) can be viewed here. Among the submissions, was an inspired portrait of Penny by 7-year-old Aiden Lederman of California, which was chosen by Raffi to grace the album’s cover. Fans can sing along with Raffi during a series of North American tour dates, with stops in Philadelphia, Toronto, and Providence, RI, among others. Last thing you worried about? my bank card being expired and needing to wait for the replacement in the mail because the one they had originally sent a month before got lost in the mail apparently and I didn’t even know it was sent till I called the bank asking for one once my card declined for an Uber and I realized the expiration on it..

For some reason I had never gone to Big Jim's. Unfortunately Jim passed away a few years back. Once inside I met @adambombx79 who is now running things. Adam's enthusiasm is worth a million dollars to the family that still own the shop. You can tell he and Jim had a great relationship and that no one else should be in charge. Very high up in the in the holy grail category for me are Stooges 7-inches. I only have the reissues. Easily my favorite song is "I Wanna Be Your Dog" so I happily grabbed this copy with the equally as great "1969" on the flip. There were a few Captain Beefheart's on the wall but two jumped out at me immediately; a UKK promo of one of the greatest Soul songs by a progressive artist, "Too Much Time" and a Captain Beefheart - Ry Cooder tour promo voiced by Frank Zappa. Yup, that is exactly what I said. I recently discussed my over 300 James Brown 7-inches but one has remained far more elusive than most, "Chonnie On Chon." This early James R&B blast was worth the wait in this condition. I ignored the 7-inches of one of my earliest obsessions KISS so getting copies now is more difficult than I imagined. "Flaming Youth" b/w "God of Thunder" with the incredible pic sleeve has been at the top. I am a sucker for Rolling Stones picture sleeves and this mono French one with its very proper portrait did the trick. A UK Johnny Kidd and the Pirates has been on my list forever.
