Omg can we talk about how baby Shadowheart looks like Boo from monsters inc. They always said she was a brave little girl, i can totally picture her chasing around big scary monsters giggling “Kitty!” as a really little kid lol maybe she used to do the same with the local wildlife, scrabbling around to snatch any escaping squirrels or wolves, much to the exasperation of her parents lol girl probly had no chill
SHE REALLY DOES!!! 🥹 omg that’s so perfect??
My bestie @redheadcompanionnumber1 (who so so kindly provided a transcript screenshot 💕!!) and I were chatting about her origins run and apparently, when Shadowheart talks to Emmeline after saving her, she tells her that the last time she saw Shadowheart cry, she was crying bc she cut her knee while chasing a frog.
Baby Shadowheart. Chasing a frog. 🥹😭
is that not…the cutest thing…you’ve ever heard?
Anyway I just…love the fact that she gets to keep a part of that innocence (Tav fought SO hard to protect that side of her 🥰) and she gets to live out her childhood fantasy of having a whole farm of animals, a most loving wife, AND she gets a little carbon copy of herself (her little mouse 💕) to boot.
1. Sparrow’s machine Works, and he gets a new origin (feeling pretty shitty)
2. Sparrow’s machine Doesn’t Work, Sparrow dies, and then he comes back as a new origin anyways (also feeling pretty shitty, but with a bruised ego this time)
Either way, I’m gonna have a hell of a time rotating this fella around in my skull
I hope you enjoy Robocop if you actually watch it! It’s in my top ten stupid action movies for sure
Hi I just finished it!!! Very good very silly very violent. Especially loved the robot who ate shit because he was too big to use the stairs lol
So far my second-favourite Paul Verhoeven movie out of the three I've seen. I've really liked all of them so far but sometimes I just think he doesn't address the impact of things that happened in the film enough yknow. idk they're all good I just love thinking about potential all the time lol
I was thinking about what Shadowheart says when the party stumbles upon some graffiti on a city wall in Act 3:
“Well, I think I was the one who did it. I can recognize my own handwriting. How long ago was this? Years? All the time I spent training, hidden away from the world. I think…I think I must have wanted to leave my mark somewhere. Just to prove I existed. Even to myself…"
And Tav doesn't really get a chance to say anything in response.
But I was thinking, how touching it might be, if she and Tav returned to the city after everything. A warm summer night, hand in hand, perhaps with some wine--fueled giggling and stumbling through the streets of Baldur's Gate. Maybe they're even roaming the upper city- passing a fancy estate. (Maybe even Tav's childhood home- or what's left of it). Maybe Tav spots a stray piece of charcoal, or a painter's brush and bucket- abandoned for the evening until work resumes in the morning.
It would be so sweet if she offered it to Shadowheart; eyes glinting with mischief. An opportunity to rewrite her name: whatever name she pleases. A moment to mark her survival, Shadowheart's journey thus far. She's still here. Her cloister is not. She made it.
And I think Shadowheart would want nothing more than to mark not just her own existence; but theirs. She has Tav tag the wall, too, and she steps back from their joint-artwork, grinning like she used to as a child. She's not alone, anymore- in her sorrow or her joy.
Once, she marked a wall to prove she existed. Now, she marks another, to prove she is thriving.
Happy Simblreen!!! I was so excited to play with everyone's treats, thank you for everyone who shared their spooky creations and kept up the spirit of Simblreen!
