Right so I'll start off with the obvious, Kuran shows a lot of emotions in this chapter

Mainly shock but most importantly, sadness or remorse for his dead best friend. He's contemplating, thinking about his friend who he lost and thinking about Kou, who he has sworn to take care of. Which I think is why he doesn't show any emotions, at least not much anymore. Maybe he lost feelings when his best friend died right in front of his eyes, and for him, showing any emotions other than being straight faced is hard for him since it might feel like he's betraying Botan by doing so. While it sounds crazy, I know how certain people cope with dead, especially when it comes to people who are close to them, and this isn't that far of a stretch to assume. Unless he just has a permanent RBF, in which case I still love you anyways Kuran ♡

Right so let's start with my theories that were right

Kuran having an Astro, amd the reason for it. I SAID HE HAD ONE AND HOW IT WAS PROBABLY TO PROTECT/MAKE KOU HAPPY AND HERE I AM TWO THEORIES IN THE BAG AND IM SO HAPPY OVER IT

Next is Kuran being a goofball. His jokes usually just came out flat,"Noodle arms" for Kous astro and just asking if hibarus is actually a hard-hitting fist. He used to be happy, and he used to make all these funny jokes and impressions he used to smile and not be poker faced. This leads me to my next and final theory, which was also correct

He chained himself to Botan. He became his best friend to protect Kou. He stopped showing emotion after he started grieving and only swore to protect Kou no matter what, even if it meant losing himself, losing who he used to be. Losing his Smile. I'm sure it'll take a while, but Kuran might be able to get his smile back, to get himself back. To get the Real Kuran who's goofy and happy and was there for Kou and his family.

I GOT SPOILERS AND I NEED TO SHARE A THEORY ON ONE SO DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 6 OF ASTRO ROYALE/NEGAI NO ASTRO

I WAS RIGHT ABOUT KURAN HAVING AN ASTRO, IT MADE SO MUCH SENSE, ESPECIALLY SINCE HE HAS A PENDANT THAT SEEMED IMPORTANT TO HIM

Now, with this, I'm 90% sure he's gonna say something along the lines of,"I wished to protect Kou/make Kou happy no matter what...and now I'm a furry"/j

NOT TO MENTION AS HE TRANSFORMS HE TURNS INTO BOTAN (or what looks to be like Botan silhouette) FOR A MOMENT, MEANING HES STILL WITH KURAN AND KOU IN SPIRIT IM GONNA CRY🥹😭

Have this Pannel, its adorable to see how Kou knows immediately that it's Kuran cuz "Botan is cooler", but it's also funny to see Kuran show more emotions even if it's because of his Astro. And bc Botan looks lowkey really hot from the front so you guys can fawn over that for a while LMAO

Kou and Kuran both made a wish for each other, using Botan as reference to power

Asura comes from Botan – for Kou, having Botan's strength for himself and not having to be protected by it meant protecting Kuran, freeing him from the responsibilities he jailed himself in

– for Kuran, shape-shifting into Botan means being able to keep his promise, take good care of Kou, and also keeping the past alive by becoming it which isn't that hard to start with since his self got erased after Botan's death. Kou needs Botan more than he needs him

Both think that by reaching Botan's strength (Kou) or impersonating him (Kuran) – the other won't have to worry and suffer anymore

I don't think I'll get over Kou using his Astro's hands in combat rather than his own just like Botan used to save/help him in the past, actually

He can crush anything now, because he has the same strength Botan has back then
