Zander, V, and I are planning another Sparklestuck lock-in. How does the end of May sound? Like after most get out of school?  Also how many of you are just interested in general? :O

Sparklestuck II

The Christmas meetup, Sparklestuck, was such a huge success! So now we bring you, Sparklestuck II. The date is currently being negotiated, but we expect this to be set in stone within the next week. We will of course bring the date before the group one last time before signing the contract and putting down the deposit. The dates we are looking at are June 8th-9th. This is a Friday night to Saturday morning lock-in meetup, due to people still possibly being in school at this time. These dates are still very negotiable, so if you have concerns, let us know. The entry fee will be $25 per person, like last time. This will include skate rental, a game of laser tag, a slice of pizza and soda for dinner, a late night snack, and donuts and juice for breakfast. We need a minimum of 100 people to be committed to this, because that is the minimum that Sparkles will let us have for a lock-in. The RSVP list will be opened up as soon as we have the date set in stone, but you can start joining the Facebook event page now if you can make it no matter what date we set. If your parents are concerned, they can attend for free as non-skating chaperones. That being said, we need to put down a $200 deposit when we sign the contract, then the total cost for the meetup will wind up being $2,500. The organizers are a little short on cash right now, so the sooner you prepay, the sooner we can get this show on the road. Information on prepaying and donating is still in the works, but we will release it as soon as possible. Please note, you do NOT need to prepay in order to attend! Prepaying is really nice and would really help us out, but we understand that some people just can't pay until the day of. This event is open to ALL Homestuck fans (and non-Homestuck fans, I guess) from all over! This is NOT just an AtlantaStuck meet. So invite everyone and get the word out! It's worth a longer drive, I promise.

We will be posting smaller updates on this Tumblr as they happen, but we will not be spamming any tags with them! That means that you won't see the smaller updates on the Atlantastuck or Alabamastuck tags, so if you want to see these updates, please follow this blog or track the tag "sparklestuck." All big updates like prepay information and the RSVP list will still be tagged.

We are not looking into planning a gift exchange, draw party, smaller prizes/awards, or Can Town until the date is set, the RSVP list is up, and the prepaying starts, but these will likely be things that happen! We will be keeping you guys updated every step of the way.

If the dates we are looking at conflict with another big event (such as a con) that we haven't accounted for, please let us know immediately. We want this date nailed down as soon as possible, to give us enough time to raise the money.

The current organizers of this event are Zander, Maggie, Rhiannon, Milo, and V. We are not looking for direct help right now, but when things come up, we will ask people to join us and assist.

What we do need help with is signal boosting! We want as many people as possible to come for this event, so please reblog this and get the word out to your followers! The last event was incredible and we want everyone to be a part of this one too! If you couldn't attend the last one, come to this one! I don't think I heard of a single person who didn't have a good time.

Now that we know that there is some excitement for Sparklestuck...

Your enthusiasm is BAD ASS, but we need to pick a date to book Sparkles.

We were thinking about sometime at the end of May, early June, so that school would have just let out.

How do you guys feel about that date range?

We can adjust the date to try to accommodate as many people as possible, but we need to settle on something soon to have as much time to organize as we can get.

A very important note: We need AT LEAST one hundred people to attend or else we can't book the rink. Just like last time, admission would be twenty-five dollars. PLEASE let me know if you can attend.

Sparklestuck II: TOMORROW!

As Sparklestuck is tomorrow, now is the perfect time to sum up everything you need to know, including some guidelines and reminders.

WHERE: 1000 McCollum Parkway NW Kennesaw, GA 30144 WHEN: You can start arriving at around 10 pm HOW MUCH: $30, in cash, for admission WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: Cash money for the aforementioned admission and for concessions and other things, your image code if you pre-paid, a gift for the exchange should you wish to participate, canned and other shelf stable foods for Can Town, sleep supplies, snacks and drinks (technically you have to smuggle these in but whatever, just keep them in your bags until you're inside the building), gifts for other guests, etc.

As for guidelines:

We request that you refrain from using body paint. We know it subtracts from a cosplay, but keep in mind that it will get fairly hot (melty paint = no fun), there aren’t showers (we don’t need Sparkles’ bathrooms to be coated in Ben Nye), and we don’t need cosplays getting ruined because you accidentally bumped into them in such a crowded venue. If you do decide to wear paint, you are expected to clean up after yourself thoroughly.

You are to be courteous and respectful to all Sparkles employees at all times. This is just common sense. These people are staying up all night and working hard to provide you with a great time.

Please try to leave your drama at the door, and not start any at the event. We should not have to explain what this means.

Absolutely NO ALCOHOL is to be smuggled in. Some some alcoholic beverages are served in the cafe, and if you want these, of course you'll need your legal ID. But no alcohol is to be smuggled in or passed around minors.

Additional rules will be given at the event itself.

Reminders:

Can Town is a thing that is happening! It is a food drive. This means that you bring canned food and other shelf-stable foods to the meetup, we build an awesome town out of it all, take a picture, and then the items are donated to a local food bank. It's really fun, and it's a great way to give a little something back. Also, there's a cool prize for whoever brings the most cans/shelf items!

The gift exchange is also a thing that is happening. It is, however, optional. If you do not want to bring a gift, you may sit out the exchange and not receive a gift in return.

Payment at the door is taken IN CASH. It would also be wise to bring extra cash for things like arcade games and concessions, as well as some extra goodies the hosts might be selling. There IS an ATM machine in the building, but beware that it may be out of order (as it was at the last Sparklestuck).

If you wish to participate in the grub race, please try to bring a sleeping bag! 

Please do NOT sleep in front of the entrance to the jungle gym! 

Guests are provided with free water all night; we ask that you please keep your cup! It's extremely wasteful to get a new cup every time you want water. Sharpies will be around for cup-labeling purposes. Mind you, there is also a water fountain.

There will be a lost and found box in the dj booth. If you find anything lying about, please put it in the box.

Please let us know if there's anything accidentally left out.

We currently have not even half of the people needed for Sparklestuck to happen, if we don't get enough people/prepays in the next month it will not happen. SparklestuckII: ... Maybe not quite postponed!

Hey guys! As you might know, we posted a while back that we will be postponing the lock-in until December, due to it being so close to the dates of Bill's lock-in in Douglasville, but after some consideration, we thought why not try to have both?

The thing is, it's not even a possibility unless we can be sure that we have at least 100 people going. We realize the event is somewhat far off, the date we're still planning on is June 8th-9th, and it might be hard to commit so early, but we really need to make sure we can at least cover the cost of the lock-in itself.

That being said, if you can send us an ask with your username, telling us that you're interested/want to or should be able to go, we'll start making a list to see how possible this even is.

Keep in mind that if we don't make it for June, the event isn't totally cancelled! It'll just be planned later in the year, whenever will be another date most convenient for people.

But please, send us asks if you're interested, so we can start making a list! Please reblog and signal boost if you can as well, we really need to get this out there!

Hey Atlantastucks/anyone else interested in Sparklestuck!

We currently only have about 33 or so people RSVP'd, we need at least 100 for this event to even be possible, so please, spread the word around, invite your friends, anything!

A lot of us are really looking forward to this and we'd really love for it to be possible, but paying the $2500 charge for only 30+ people isn't really a thing we could do.

Just as an FYI, if we don't get 100 people, seems like the lock in can still continue, but the price will go up for each person. Right now we have around 70 people, so admission would be $36 to cover the $2500 fee.

Hey Sparklestuck 2 RSVPers !

We currently haven't received any pre-pays for the lock-in, even though a good bit of people have sent us messages saying they're going.

Now, you don't have to pay now of course, but if you can manage to pay ahead of time, that'd be great because we want to at least see if we can cover the deposit soon.

An Announcement Thingy

dsfkjlfdsklj I would really really REALLY love to go to Sparklestuck II and other meet-ups, but ah...yeah okay, this is a good time for an announcement.

HEY ALL YOU FOLLOWERS AND ATLANTASTUCKS AND NOMADSTUCKS AND OTHER PEOPLE I LOVE. I'm doing an internship waaaaaaaaay up north from June 4 to July 27. It's required for me to graduate, and I gotta do a project or something ANTHROPOLOGICAL AND STUFF, but sdfkljsdfkjlfdslsdfkjl I'm so excited, I'm going to be doing stuff with my tribe's department of language and culture and I'll get to take language classes and it will be REALLY HARD INDIAN LANGUAGES ARE COMPLEX AND HARD apparently BUT I'M SO EXCITED SDFKJLDFSKJLFDSKJL. I AM SO GONNA BLOG STUFF ABOUT WHAT I'M DOING UP THERE AND SLDKFJSDKJLFDSKLFKJDSKJLDFSKJFDSKJLDKJLS.

...I'll also be turning 22 while I'm up there...I don't know what to say about that WHY AM I TYPING, WHAT ARE WORDS.

Sparklestuck II: Postponed

We are really sorry to announce this, but Sparklestuck II is being postponed! Maybe even to the end of December.

We were kind of put in a tough spot with everything that's happened and now there is another lock-in meetup scheduled for July. We are in full support of this event, because it looks like tons of fun! But sadly, we think it makes little sense to have two lock-ins so close together. We'd rather that people didn't have to choose between one meetup over the other.

We'll keep you updated if the status changes, but as of right now, do not expect any word on Sparklestuck II until after the summer. Again, we're really sorry about this, but since the other lock-in is pretty much completely planned out already, we'll step back and save this one for another time.

SPARKLESTUCK DATE CHANGE

We called the event coordinator at Sparkles and she told us that since the last Sparklestuck, they have stopped offering lock-ins on Friday nights, which upsets our planned date.

The new date we will be shooting for is JUNE NINTH. It is just one day later; I hope that's okay.
