Psst while it's def recommended to only handwash crochet work, you can machine wash/dry them if you're careful! Use a laundry bag if possible, use gentle settings, nonbleach detergents etc. Airdrying is best, but you should be able to tumble dry them on low without heat! I machine wash all my own work cause i can't be bothered to handwash them and they hold up fine lmao

I rent, and the washing machine we have is one of the older ones with those vicious agitators, so I suspect even a laundry bag would not protect the blanket (or the heavy lump would end up on one side and possibly break the ancient machine).

One person mentioned handwashing the blanket in a tub. I'm guessing that, after washing it, I'd have to put it in a clean 5 gallon (idk what that is in metric oops) bucket in order to carry it to the washing machine to spin out before drying it. Otherwise, I'd end up with a lot of water tracked all over the house, haha.

The biggest problem is that I'll probably throw my back out from bending over the tub for a long time to wash the blanket, so it might be better to give it to someone who can deal with the hassle 😂 But better that than letting it sit in my closet for another ten years!

I wasn’t 100% sure because it could have been the designer style, but Daybit’s eyes look weird, like they were holes:
