Hi, I don't know how to interacts with a fandom, my blog isn't specifically about Ninjago but I love the show and recently found a post you and other Ninjago fans might like.
It's a post comparing English and Polish dubbing of Ninjago. Here it is!
Credit to mlydo.
I think it would've been a cool trend if other people compared dubbings in other languages. So, let's get the ball rolling and good luck.
P.S.
You may wonder why I picked you as the chosen one. I just wrote ''Ninjago Fandom'' and you showed up. : -)

Differences between Polish and English dub, part 8, the largest one yet.
Previous Masterpost Next
Sons of Garmadon | Synowie Garmadona
75. Mask of Deception | Maska Iluzji (Mask of Illusion)
● Lloyd's VA is not changed. In polish dub the VA was always male, and if I had to guess, his age is not that far from Lloyd's. I tried to look up when he was born, but nothing came up. He's voice is only slightly lower than the one from previous seasons, and it's easily missed.
● Lloyd: "I could kiss you, Pix!" → "Chętnie bym cię wyściskał!" (I would gladly hug you!)
● Cole [to Jay]: "No, you bolthead." → "Mój ty geniuszku słodki." (You, my sweet genius [with DIM used on 'genius'])
● 'Oni' in polish means 'They', so the Oni-Only joke is centered around it. The fact that pronouns aren't used often in polish and structure of sentences is really flexible helps lessen the confusion. Though some sentences gain double-meanings.
● Lloyd says that they'll be staying in the palace only for an hour.
● Party Pooper → Wujek-Psujek (Wujek - Uncle; Psujek comes from a verb 'psuć': to spoil, bust or damage something.)
● Kai: "A face only a mother could love. Why would anyone want that?" → "Taka okropna buźka każdego by wystraszyła. Po co komu takie paskudztwo?" (Such a horrible face would scare anyone. Why would anyone need such an ugly thing?)
● Mask of Vengence → Mask of Revenge
Mask of Deception → Mask of Illusion
Mask of Hatred is translated literally.
● Zane: "It is nice to have a pooper in the party." → "Każda drużyna musi mieć swojego wujka." (Every team must have its uncle.)
76. The Jade Princess | Jadeitowa Księżniczka
● Harumi: "Everyone thinks being a princess is supposed to be easy, and wonderful, and I guess it's okay, but a lot of the time it's really hard." → "Ludzie wyobrażają sobie, że ciągle się bawimy, jakieś bale, obiadki i takie tam. Zgoda, bywa nawet miło, ale wszystko ma swoje plusy i minusy." (People imagine that we're always having fun, some balls, dinners and so on. I agree, it can be nice, but everything has its pros and cons.)
● Instead of calling the SoG members "low level thugs" like she does in english, Harumi calls them "pawns". She also doesn't say that the person above them scares her, but tells Lloyd that if she were in his shoes, she would try looking for their boss.
● Hutchins saying that Harumi and Lloyd are on first name bases, is changed to Lloyd using 'you' on Harumi.
In polish when referring to someone who's older or has a higher social status, you would use third person while talking to them; e.g. "Jak się Pan czuje?" (How is Mister feeling?) You can think of it as Formal/Informal You for simplicities sake. The thing is, Lloyd was using terms like 'Ma'am', 'Your Highness' or 'Princess' the whole time, even when in canon he was using Harumi's name, and calls her Rumi only once.
● Mr. E is untranslated.
● Ultra Violet at first has english pronounciation, later 'Ultra Fiolet' is used once or twice.
● Harumi: "It's a dead end!"
Lloyd: "But we're not dead yet!"
Harumi: "Droga się kończy!" (The road is ending!)
Lloyd: "Droga tak, ale nie zabawa!" (The road does, but not fun!)
● Aside from the episode title, I don't think "Jade Princess" is ever used in the show; just "Princess".
77. The Oni and the Dragon | Oni i Smok
● Cole: "So, Harumi. Looks like we'll be Roomies for a while." → "To ten, Wasza Wysokość, jak się czujemy na wysokościach?" (So, Your Highness, how are we feeling in the heights?)
● Mystake's name is unchanged.
● Luke: "You pee in the swimming pool?" → "Wyjadałeś po kryjomu ciastka?" (You eat cookies when no ones looking?)
● Harumi calls Garmadon a monster, when in english she talks about his anger.
● Cole: "Or should I say my alias, Rocky Dangerbuff." → "A raczej mój brat bliźniak, Rocky Budzilęk!" (Or rather my twin brother, Rocky Arousesfear!)
● Cole: "But you'll still need a cover. Something tough. Something that says 'I'm bad'."
Zane: "In my estimation Rocky Dangerbuff is pretty bad."
Cole: "(...) Z daleka mają widzieć, że łobuz!" (They have to know from far away that you're a bad guy!)
Zane: "Jak na mój gust odległość nie ma większego znaczenia." (From what I can tell, distance doesn't matter that much.)
● Cole calls Snake Jaguar 'my Jaguar' at one point.
● In english Zane states that he ran 1,572 simulations, but in polish it's 1,542.
● Royal Blacksmith is translated literally for the first time.
● Cole's Worm Song is translated, with 'Worm' being changed to 'Rybka' (diminutive of fish).
78. Snake Jaguar | Wężowy Jaguar
● Killow: "What sort of name is that?"
Zane: "The sort that can put you on your backside, if you have to ask."
Killow: "Kto ci dał tak na imię?" (Who named you like that?)
Zane: "Ktoś, kto wiedział, że jak się postaram to więcej nie usiądziesz." (Someone who knew that if I try you won't be able to sit anymore.)
● Quiet One is translated to 'Cisza' (Silence). Most likely to avoid using an adjective form, thus giving away gender of the Quiet One. Even though 'Cisza' is a feminine noun, it feels more like a subtle hint rather than an outright confirmation.
● When talking about Garmadon coming back evil, with four hands and all, Cole also mentions the venom coming back.
● The whole Zane-Sane joke, is changed to Zane-Zdejm (Take off): "Zdejm! Zdejm ze mnie ciężar, nie każ mi tu tkwić! Bo oszaleję!" (Take off! Take the weight off me, don't make me stay here! Or I'll go crazy!)
● Killow [after Zane guesses the 'No-Rules' rule]: "Well, that was no fun at all." → "Patrzcie, on zgadł. Jakoś inni nie zgadują." (Look, he guessed. Somehow others don't guess.)
● Instead of Zane saying that he spotted the Mask of Deception, he said he has it. Which later prompt Harumi to say "Wait, so does he have the Mask or does he see the Mask?"
● When accusing Mr. E of being the Quiet One, Zane says "You're that Quiet One?" with masculine form of 'that' being used (as mentioned before, the word is feminine).
79. Dead Man's Squall | Sztorm Umarlaka (Dead Man's Storm)
In polish, there are two ways to say storm. 'Burza' is just a storm, while 'Sztorm' means it takes place over a sea or an ocean
● Lloyd calls Zane brother.
● Harumi's Lullaby:
Pająk idzie zły, śpij, śpij. (The evil spider is coming, sleep, sleep. ['zły', can also be translated to 'angry'])
Szczerzy ostre kły, śpij, śpij. (Baring sharp fangs, sleep, sleep.)
Lepiej oczka zmruż, bo jak do uszka wskoczy ci. (Better close your eye, or it'll jump into your ear.)
● Cole [to baby Wu crying]: "Hey! Look at me! I'm not sad! I'm not crying!" → "Hej! Patrz na wujka! Wujek się uśmiecha! Wcale nie płacze!" (Hey! Look at the uncle! Uncle is smiling! Not crying at all!) This makes me think that Lloyd calling Cole an uncle back in Season 1 might've been deliberate.
● Wohira has polish pronounciation.
● Kai: "Classic bad guy stuff. It must be in their DNA." → "Ci źli zawsze tak mówią. Jakby ktoś im pisał te teksty." (The bad guys always talk like that. As if someone was writing these lines for them.)
● Cole: "Stay safe, little buddy. I'll be back to get you before you know it." → "Pośpij tu sobie maluchu. Wrócę za nim pajączek wskoczy ci do uszka." (Sleep here, little one. I'll be back before the spider jumps into your ear.) Gotta say, I love the reference to Harumi's Lullaby.
● Lloyd saying "What is this, a cartoon?" is changed to asking Harumi if she's from a cartoon, and adding that it would never work in real life.
80. The Quiet One | Cisza
● Whenever the phrase 'the Greatest Villain' is used, it's translated to 'monster'.
● Harumi: "[The Greatest Villain]'s the one you never knew was there in the first place." → "Potworem jest ten kogo nigdy byś nie podejarzewał o zdradę. Jest tak blisko, że tego nie widzisz." (The Monster is the one you would never suspect of treason. [It] is so close you don't see it.)
● Lloyd calls Harumi 'ukochana' (beloved).
● Nya calls Mr. E 'Mr. One'? Where did that even come from???
● Instead of stating that Harumi's the Quiet One, Nya asks 'do you think that Harumi is the Quiet One?'
81. Game of Masks | Gra o Maski
● Harumi's mom says 'I love you' to her daughter, instead of 'I promise', like she does in the canon.
● "Well, aren't you the quiet one." → "No nic. Jak cisza to cisza." (Oh well. Silence it is then.)
● Oni are called 'Władcy Oni' (Rulers/Lords of Oni) in this episode, most likely to avoid confusion.
● Harumi: "I didn't need you to find the mask. It would've already been mine had your idiot friends not stolen Wu from us." → "Przyjacielu. Dawno bym ją miała gdyby twoi urocze towarzysze nie wykradli nam Mistrza Wu." (My friend. I would've had it a long time ago, had your cute companions not have stolen Master Wu from us.)
● Harumi calls Lloyd things like 'sweetie', 'beloved', etc. From that point on, she uses them at least once anytime she addresses Lloyd. She uses them even right after the Collosus destroys the Bounty later in the season. Her last line this season, which is "Goodbye" is changed to "Goodbye, love." I have to admit, there's something really disturbing about Harumi calling Lloyd pet names, especially that she starts to do so only after her reveal.
● "How many times have you Ninja failed and let others pay the price?" is changed to "Ile przez was zginęło?" (How many has died because of you?) Note that 'zginąć' means to die suddenly, tragically, e.g. from an accident.
● Harumi: "He won't be the man you recognise." → "Nie rozpozna w tobie syna." (He won't recognise you as his son.)
● Kai: "We'll have to get all ninja up on you!" → "Zrobimy z was Ninja-Pasztet!" (We'll make a Ninja-Pate from you!)
82. Dread on Arrival | Ceremonia (Ceremony)
● Jay doesn't warn an officer before zapping him off-screen.
● You can hear the person on the other side of the line tell Commissioner to wait a moment.
● Harumi is often called 'Szefowa' whenever 'Quiet One' is used, by both the Ninja and the SoG. 'Szefowa' is a feminine of boss, so... girlboss?
● Harumi still uses pet names on Lloyd when telling him ther's nothing between them.
● During the ritual, instead of saying "Clotho Venge! Clotho Decer! Clotho Haeed!", Harumi says "Bogini Zemsty! Bogini Iluzji! Bogini Nienawiści!" (Goddess of Vengeance! Goddess of Deception! Goddess of Hatred!)
● Misako doesn't tell Lloyd that seeing best in people is a mistake, but phrases it as a question: "Is it so bad that you have such a great heart, that you trust people so much and believe that they're inherently good?"
● Lloyd: "(...) It looks like you were wrong. You weren't the one who got away." →"Myślałaś, że się uda, co? Że jesteś taka sprytna i wspaniała." (You thought you were gonna succeed, didn't you? That you're so clever and amazing.)
83. True Potential | Prawdziwy Potencjał
● When Harumi's telling Garmadon that he needs to defeat Lloyd, "the person that always held you back" is changed to "the person who doesn't let you plunge into the dark."
● When trying to stop Lloyd from going to fight Garmadon, Zane says "this isn't you!", which is changed to "this isn't your father!". This change happens a few times.
● Garmadon: "It was foolish to come here." → "I po coś tu przychodził, synu?" (What did you come here for, son?)
● Lloyd calld Garmadon daddy.
● Lloyd: "This isn't you!"
Garmadon: "This is the new me!"
Lloyd: "Proszę cię, nie jesteś potworem!" (Please, you're not a monster!)
Garmadon: "A właśnie, że jestem potworem!" (I am a monster!)
● Garmadon: "But only one was brought back - the Destroyer!" → "Ale tylko wtedy czuję się sobą - kiedy niszczę!" (But only then I feel like myself - when I destroy!)
● A very small change, but instead of saying 'father' at the end, Lloyd says 'dad'.
84. Big Trouble, Little Ninjago | Wielkie Kłopoty w Niewielkim Ninjago (Great Trouble in Small Ninjago)
or if you want to be more literal: Great Trouble in Not-Great Ninjago
● While in canon Gayle wonders if Lloyd's okay, in polish version she wonders if he's alive.
● The "Not so fast!" is translated literally, so no callback to Season 1.
● Mystake says that Lloyd's power is his sixth sense (?), and calls the Ninja children.
● When Garmadon and Wu say "My brother", they use the diminutive version of the word, and like,,, that's adorable???
● Lloyd: "Just think how many others will be made like you!" → "A ile córek straci dzisiaj swoich rodziców?!" (And how many daughters will lose their parents today?!)
And cut! Season 8 took almost ten pages in my notebook, making it the longest. I actually ended up not mentioning some stuff I usually would, because of how long this one is!
