I applied to my first CF position, and now all I can think of is that I can’t pick up the phone tomorrow and tell my grandparents about it. I did the same when I was applying to graduate schools and they’d BEG me to call them and update them on how the process was going.

Not to mention it’s upsetting because one of my parents is #notpleased with the locations of jobs I’m applying to since I’d have to move out of state. I know that my grandfather, who loved any kind of adventure, would be all for it. “I can make that drive,” he’d tease. “If you need anything out there... You know where we live.”

God I’ve been doing pretty well with grief but it’s life moments like this where I realize how much things have changed with him being gone and my grandmother not being who she was.
