My first attempt at trying to make a showreel. I used my nature macro images on iMovie and some basic music to try and get used to making one on software I’ve used before.

Focus - The areas closest to the camera appear sharper and the areas further away appear less sharp due to how far away they are.
Light - As this image is in black and white it is harder to tell where the highlights and shadows are. Although we can see some shadows near the back on the wall and highlights at the front and on the kids.
Line - The lines in this image mostly straight and all collect together at a point int the back of the image.
Repetition - The lines of the pavement and the wall repeat and create a slight pattern. The y of the wire on the wall are repeated and create a pattern.
Shape - The lines we see are mostly geometric as they are straight. We see these lines in the pavement, wall and buildings.
Form - The objects appear 3D as the wall and pavement get smaller and further away.
Space - There is depth in the image as we can see right to the end of the wall and the pavement.
Texture - The image would feel rough due the bricks and slabs of the wall and pavement.
Tone - There isn’t much variation in tone in this image due to it being in black and white. The darkest part of the image is the end of the wall, this could be due to the colour of the wall originally.
Colour - There is limited colours in this image. The limited colour palette creates a sad and lonely mode and atmosphere.
Composition - There are some kids in the foreground and midground, with not much except buildings in the backgrounds. This brings the focus forward making the focal point near the front of the image.

Triptych - fast fashion
This is part of out fast fashion project. To create these images I used my canon camera, LED panel light, extension tubes on top of my kit lens to get the macro effect and pieces of clothing. for these images I used my black leotard with lace for dancing.
My camera settings were a shutter speed of 1/125, aperture of f5.6 and f8 and an iso of 1600. I used a cooler white light for this as it was brighter and created a better image with the black fabric.
I chose my favourite 3 images that I liked the most and thought would go well together.
I feel that these images go together well as they all feature lace. They all also have various amounts lace, which gives them all the same subject matter but all look like individual images.
I edited these images in Lightroom by increasing the texture and clarity in all of the images. I made the first image black and white as there was some colour in the background. For all the images I changed the contrast, shadows, whites and exposure until the gave the desired look I wanted.
I created this by creating a contact sheet, the size of an A3 image, with 1 row and four columns and then moved them and resized them until I was happy with the way they looked.

Studio Portraits
Here are some before and afters and final images from my portraits shoot with my mum Wendy as the model. I edited them in photoshop by adjusting the contrast, highlights and whites to give more depth to the images. I then adjusted the vibrance and saturation to make the blue brighter since blue is the theme for my folio.

ADOBE BRIDGE
This is what the photographers workflow looks like on bridge from import to export, with rating and editing my images. I used my pantone colour project from a few weeks ago for this task.
I haven’t used bridge or Lightroom much as I tend to use photoshop more, but i have found bridge really easy to navigate and edit my photos.

First shots
These are some of my first photos I shot for my still life as they were closer to my inspiration images. I realised I didn’t like them much so changed what I was doing, but I decided to edit some anyway in case I changed my mind later on.

Before and after
These are some before and afters from Mondays studio class. This was for the the start of folio 3. My folio is blue and purple themed, so I used blueberries for a still life scene and then some blue flowers for some macro work. Final Images to follow.

Still life inspired by art - How I changed my images to make them better and lighting diagrams
- I moved the light back so that it was shining on me more than the subject matter to make the image dimmer. I also under exposed the image slightly due the fact I was using metal plates and glasses which were reflecting the light and making it brighter.
- I also changed the composition slightly to make it seem less crowded in the middle.
- I then changed the perspective slightly to make the glass the tallest object as it was in the original image.
- Finally, I changed the fruit from an orange to an apple as it looked more like the lemon in the original image, and I didn’t have a lemon.

Photographers showreel
A showreel is a video that showcases photographers work. It may have music featured that would set the mood of the pictures. Some photographers may add text to tell you more about their images. Showreels are more accessible than folders as they can give a glimpse of the photographers work rather than having to sit and look through all their folders. This allows people to have a quick look through photographers work and decide if they like it or not.
Many different types of software can be used to create showreels, although some you need to pay for. Software such as iMovie, Instagram and TikTok can be used to make showreels and are free. Whereas, software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X can also be used but need to be paid for.

^^I chose this showreel as it had interesting transitions between photos. Also the subject matter is changed every couple of images to keep the viewers attention so they don’t get bored of the same subject. The photos were very interesting and unique as well which made the whole thing more interesting.^^
