Excalibur - pen on bristol - 2018

A commission (part of a set of four) of Merlin engaging with a few different magical objects from Arthuriana in... less traditional ways. Here he is getting good use out of the scabbard of Excalibur, which is the real magic of that sword. King Arthur is the one in armor.

Out of all four of these pieces, this one's my favorite. It was the last one I did, and it really shows the kind of work I was headed towards with my ornament work style, though I didn't really do much more art in this style for years.
