I played through a lot of Shall We Date's mobile otome games back in high school before many of them were shut down a few years ago. My second game was Destiny Ninja 2, and my first route within that game was Shiroya.

Shiroya has become one of my favorite fictional characters, and by far my favorite system that I've seen in fictional media (read about DID/OSDD for more info on what being a system means). I was so surprised by how an otome game company depicted the complexity and nuance of DID more kindly than I've seen in media in some other places.

I get that DID tends to show up as a character trope that writers in the past liked to tag on to people to amp up drama, especially in the mystery, horror, and thriller genres. It also sometimes shows up as a trope in the fantasy genre (in which, I think, Destiny Ninja 2 would fall). However, there's a surprising amount of care and depth that Shall We Date put into their system characters (those being Shiroya/Other Shiroya in DN2+, and Kagura/Homura in Ninja Shadow+). I have so much more I could say, but I'll save that for another place and time.

Anyway, the first time MC encounters Other Shiroya has lived so vividly in my brain for YEARS, so I've always wanted to try to illustrate it. I don't usually have energy to draw fan art, but I realized recently that I had developed my art skills enough to attempt drawing out this scene, and so here is the result. I'm honestly pretty happy with it. :) —🏵️

Jaydee Marie will be playing as our heroine Ayame Kushinada in our reboot/remake Destiny Ninja 2 fandub! We will only be doing these for the trailers and whatever endings the recording team and I could save before the otome got purged. So we will not do any routes. The voice lines used were from the very first audition.

I will be doing these voice reveals for everyone in the cast, regardless of whether or not they are new to the team or have already made an appearance on the channel! :)

As someone that suffered because NTT solmare decided to ditch their other games (Wizardess heart, Destiny Ninja 2 and other games they had before) I had somehow an expectation but after lesson 16? The plot is so boring and repetitive yet the fandom acts like it was Oscar worthy.

Sure the other game had some flaws too but honestly?? The writing is better, so I was so surprised when obey me stories is so??? And OM! Fandom acts like their other games are like dogshit garbage just because oh female MC bla bla femMC is bad.

Anyway - sorry for the rant and long ask. I just miss my boys😔😔 (I sometimes went back to OM tags just to check on Barbatos,Solomon,Levi and Simeon but then had to stop because the fandom has become so awful lmao)

I will say that the fandom was also part of the reason I kinda stopped liking the game. I remember when Thirteen was announced on Twitter and the response from fans was crazy 😭 They hated the idea of a female character because they immediately thought she'd be there to "steal their precious boys away" as if that's the only reason a female character could ever exist 😒 Then there was the time fans went crazy over finding pics of Levi and Beel with these faceless npc demon ladies.

I suppose people get a bit territorial when it comes to wish fulfillment stuff which is understandable but the misogyny that can come from it is... not good. I've seen this case come out of otome isekai manhwas a lot too. It's an... interesting phenomenon

A moment of silence for some fallen games 😔😔

Modern Cinderella was a game I started playing from the first day, right up until it stopped updating. So to see it being terminated is very saddening.

And Destiny Ninja 2 was a game I enjoyed and played daily.

I'm going to miss them 😔

Shall we date? games being deleted.

I’m torn inside. For those who don’t know Ntt Solmare’s Shall We Date? is removing more than half of their apps. Ending Service. Deleting, and making them completely unplayable. Now they are adding a few games to Story Jar and Dear Otome, but the rest of the games aren’t guaranteed to be added. I especially am hurt that they are removing Destiny Ninja and Destiny Ninja 2. Those games are amazing, I’ve been playing them from the year they came out. They are my only safe place and now they are being taken away. I know that there are hundreds of loyal fans that are experiencing the same emotions as I. You will find a lot of destiny ninja related content on this blog, including my own art.

So I recently started playing Destiny Ninja 2 again:

I love how the MC is the first one to be prepared to fight when faced with an enemy (shadow-like demon spirit things called Ayakashi). She's a kickass ninja.

I love these options unlike with the SLBP ninja.... (I picked Cooperate)

I love this super supportive relationship where they are on equal terms.

I started playing again because I was telling a friend about it being one of the first otome games I played and really liked when I started playing those games about 3 to 4 years ago.

I'm playing the 2nd Act of my boy Kaito's route, which I haven't played before since it was not released before I stopped playing. These examples reminded me of why I liked this game. I like the relationships and the MC is badass. I had forgotten how cool she could be. Although it may not have shown much in routes I played but I do remember liking her.

I have added this to my growing folder of otome games. 😂
