Looking back at this piece, theres quite a few things I would add. More shading for sure! However, with that being said, yesterday marked my homecoming to NYC. The city has always felt like home to me, and like many people, I’ve had to say goodbye for the past year and a half, but I think thats over now. Opening night: stop by @vitalartsstudios in Sunnyside tonight for the opening of “Level/Surface,” an exhibition of relief prints created by staff members at @barkframeworks. The culmination of a print exchange that began during the COVID pandemic, this show is comprised of prints made from carved linoleum blocks. The prints, all of which are for sale, were hand-inked and pulled on a tabletop Showcard press by Bark hinger Sara Parkel/Filter Press (located in Astoria). We’ll see you there! Here, an End-Loading Crate with a Travel Frame inside. It has Esterfoam insulation with Masonite on the bumpers, so the Travel Frame is able to slide in with ease. In honor of @asiaweekny (Sept. 14 - 23), we’re sharing this work we framed for client Frederich Jahn. The painting is of Hung Wu, the 1st emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The artist is unknown, but the work was believed to be painted in the Chien Lung Period (1736-1795) - Ching Period (1796-1821). Former Bark designer Paul Jordan worked with the client to create this frame for the work: it's a variation on our Regent profile milled in mahogany, and finished with a hand painted casein.
