Her voice , her mission inspire me beyond words , since day one when I came across the Ssanctuary in Saugertiee NY in 2014 and had a chance to read her books “ Animal Camp “ and “ where the blind horses sing “. "What about the kids?" she asks. Given that Sophie is there with Ben, it's safe to say the kids are there too. As for school, there is these people called tutors to help out. Or Sophie could have homeschooled them. Kit is in 1st grade and Hal in kindergarden, if their teachers made a study plan, it's not going to be overly complicated. Specially if it's only for a few weeks. We'll know tomorrow if Sophie is still in the US since TPoTD is showing at NYCFF. So expect another tantrum coming from sewage corner.

In this interesting read from PopDose, it seems that a Digital Cinema Package or DCP of Brian DePalma's latest wouldn't work! D'oh! Turns out we had the same issue at the CIFF. See, I serve as the print traffic coordinator for the festival. Months before the festival I have to contact all filmmakers and make sure we get a copy of their film (35mm, DCP, Blu-ray, DVD, HDCAM) in time for the screening. Sometimes this can be stressful but usually if you plan it right no issues should arise. However when it comes to DCP everything and anything could go wrong in an instant. It has to do with the KDM or "keys" the studio/distributor send out in order to unlock the film. Without this it won't play and you have yourselves some angry customers. Our issue was an international one. See the film "The Art Of Love" from France was sent to us on DCP and it ingested and seemingly played correctly on a test run. Only problem was it was not subtitled and we had already sold almost 400 tickets for it! We then had to scramble and try to call the distributor in France, but it was a Saturday and odds someone was in the office were slim. We then sent out an SOS signal to all staff members asking who spoke French. Luckily, a new staff member joined us from Paris! Though she was able to interpret for us and they sent us a new KDM, the subtitles still wouldn't work. However I'd say 75 percent of the audience watched it sans subtitles, which is a testament to our audiences. I'm not so sure the NYCFF crowds would be as forgiving but I could be wrong. The moral of this story is theaters have a long way to go til DCP's and the digital system are perfected, but they are on the way.

Saw Han Geng at NYCFF

I stand at the end of the red carpet and heard the screams of his name coming up front and back.  In the flashes of hundreds of cameras, he walked toward me, like a charactor out of comic book.  He dressed formally like a prince.  His black suit sparkles with leather-like patterns.  But my eyes fixed on his face, not paying much attention to his attire or other people next to him or greeting him.  His flowless face is very small and beautiful with delicate features, and it glows with a soft light from within, like moon.  Every part on it is perfection.  After press area, he was interviewed by TV crew, facing me.  He is tall and slim and he looked very young, maybe 17?  With a small smile on his face, every gestures he made was gentlemanly. He was very calm in the whole choas of the red carpet and you felt that there is a bubble around him.  He is out of this world.

I have not seen any pictures or video from yesterday that looks like the real him so I want to try not to look for a week and let the memory in my mind last a little longer.
