Nyx nods. "Somehow made it all across town and decided to nap on my deck next to my dog"

He gently detaches the calf's mouth from his sleeve, wiping off the pink material onto his pants.

"Thought you might appreciate your calf back... And thought I'd get her back before she started mooing at me demanding milk."

He says, running a hand down the calf's back.

There's a quiet knock at her door, Nyx standing awkwardly there with a calf chewing on his sleeve.

The baby had managed to wander all the way to his farm, and he really really didn't wanna be here to return it.

Given he had to walk way into this other farms land to return the calf, but he'd be worried as hell if any of his animals went missing.

So here he was, at a frankly way too early time to be interacting with people, on someone he'd never Mets pourch to return a runaway calf.

What was his life.

It was a lazy morning.

Misty was up and brewing her morning coffee, Miso chilling on her spot on the kitchen counter watching her human. The house was so quiet that even that faint knock was quickly heard.

Both her and the cat perk up, looking at the door, a silhouette visible through the frosted glass.

"I'm coming," she shouts as she makes her way to the door, opening it to see the man standing there like he'd rather be doing anything but.

"How can I help–" she stops mid sentence when her eyes trail down to the brown calf chewing on his sleeve. Peony.

Misty sighs and shakes her head faintly, offering an apologetic smile.

"Sorry... Did she wander to your property?"

Nyx fiddles with his sleeves while watching Yuki look at Pickles, who was standing nicely still.

"Uhm.... Moved into one of the farms... So there's a lot of stuff that's needing cleaning up, I'm guessing she probably stepped on one of the spikey plants. He back left leg is the hurt one."

He says, gesturing at the leg pickles isn't putting her full weight on, really not sure what to say. God he hated the vets, it was so awkward.

Pickles however always adored the vets, behaving, but she adored the vets office.

Nyx slowly awkwardly walks into the vet's office, with a happy looking golden retriever trotting beside him with a slight limp.

"Uhm... Hi... Can I get a check up for my dog? She's had a bit of a limp, I think she stepped on something sharp"

He mutters awkwardly, not wanting to be here, but he won't let Pickles stay in pain.

Yuki looked up from her papers, when she heard the bell right above the door ringing and heard already a voice.

"Sure thing! Come in, i'll be with you in a minute!" Yuki put aways the papers and grabbed a pair of gloves, putting them on, before she walked to the counter.

"Follow me to the back, and you can put your dog on the table!" She waited until Pickles was on the table, before she started to examine the legs and paws.

Nyx stared down at the lake, with a slightly annoyed huff. He hadn't managed to catch the one single fish he went out to catch at 8am, and it was now 7pm.

Exhaustion was settling in and he was so exhausted, he wanted to go home, but still needed that fish.

He sighed grabbing the rod, ready to go home. And then he saw ... Someone, cloaked in black.

Someone who smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, making Nyx's nose scrunch up on instinct at the putrid smell.

Sebastian was finisheing up a few of his smaller repairs on his bike, when the sun started to set down. He didn't realized, that it was already this late; with a small sigh, he started to put away his bike and tools, before he went to his room in the basement; ignoring the calls from his mother to stay for dinner, grabbed his lighter and cigarettes and walked over to the lake, where he lit up the first one and started to inhale the toxic smoke, slowly winding down.

"it's okay; i probbaly also would've freaked out if this would've happen to me." he gave the other man a faint smile, before he gently scratched pickles behin his ear, as the dog gently nudged his head against sebastians leg.

"huh? oh yeah my head's fine. just a small bump but it's already going back."

sebastian scratched the back of his head, not really knowing what he should talk about with the farmer. he took a quick look around but didn't found any topic he could speak about.

"well-- uhh... i guess i'll go now.", he said and gave pickles one last scratch, before he turned around and left.

Nyx stared at him.

Was this some shit attempt at a joke? But ... The man did seem genuinely apologetic, and.. that was a nice brand of chocolate... Nyx knew that much even tho he couldn't eat it.

Nyx took the chocolate and flowers, deciding to give Sebastian the benefit of the doubt.

"Uh... Thanks..." He put the chocolate on a counter inside, where pickles couldn't try and eat it.

"I.. know it wasn't intentional.. it was a bit... Eh.. dramatic of me.. I freaked out. Uhmmm... How's your head? I didn't mean to push you"

Nyx mumbled really not sure how to interact, only that saying he couldn't eat the chocolate was probably considered rude.

sebastians eyes went down to the golden retriever and he smiled at the dog, while he was inspected and sniffed, before he looked back up to nyx.

"i-- uhh...."

Why was this so hard???? He normally never had any problems to speak, let alone apologise... then why was his head so empty now? He sighed and cleared his throat.

"I wanted to apologise. that.... kiss i didn't wanted to make you uncomfortable in any way. it was an accident and i didn't planned to make you cry. so... i got you something...", he then said and handed him the flowers and chocolate.

A bark comes from inside the cabin as he knocked, followed by a groan "Yes yes pickles, I know someone is at the door, shush"

Nyx pushed the door open, staring at Sebastian who was on his door step, as the golden retriever ran out, sniffing the man.

He pushed down the immediate urge to tell the other to fuck off, and looked him up and down.

"What is it?" He asked tilting his head slightly.

A few days has passed since the egg festival. Sebastian was mostly busy with his work, as the weather wasn't that good to go out and do something.

Still.... the events from the night kept coming back to him, haunting him. He sighed. A quick look out the kitchens window told him, that it wasn't raining at the moment. Also.... it was just an accident....

So... why did he ended up in front of the farmers cabin???

He curled up on his bed, as pickles climbed up trying to lick his face. "'M fine, pick" He muttered scratching the goldens head.

Nyx continued to stand there, shaking slightly before suddenly remembering how to move and he bolted, leaving Sebastian on his door step.

It was lucky he'd been up to Robin several times that he was able to actually make it back to his farm without getting lost where he curled up on his porch trying to breath.

He froze for a moment when he saw the tears in Nyx eyes and instantly felt bad.
