Turf Workout: 6/15/18

Tough Mudder training happened today. I have two more months until my first one. In September, however, I’ll be running my third Gauntlet! 

This workout’s a bit harder to document as the workouts vary so much from my usual ones. I try to do anything that would mimic the feel of the obstacle course races. 

I started with several sets of: 

Alternating tire flips and burpees down the turf

15 box jumps

Alternating tire flips and burpees back up the turf

35 kettlebell swings

I then did sprints with a 20 lb sandbag, alternating between shoulders. 

Several minutes of the rope machine--alas, my gym does not possess an actual climbing rope--then a few more workouts:

Partner situps/medicine ball throws with a very nice guy that also was training turf today

Rope pulls attached to dumbbells

Pull up work

Standing weight plates

Some things that I typically try to do during obstacle course training but didn’t today are bear crawls, crab walks, and high knees down the turf. 

I then spent several hours on the lake with my family in paddleboats, so I think I can confidently say that I worked out nearly every part of my body today! Tomorrow’s workout may suck a bit.
