cannot stop thinking about how deborah and hestia would be the BEST of friends 😭 bonding over having annoying pink-haired rivals, unable to function in the presence of hot men, being really good at scheming, and having pretty intellectual love interests. BUT ALSO it’s so funny to think about because hestia is a BULLY to the main couple and loves messing with everything and being a menace, while deborah just wants to laze around but she unfortunately has a scary and problematic reputation 😭 but they’re so similar in the sense that they’re such dorks even though they look scary and i feel like they would spend HOURS complaining about the main leads in their respective stories

For the "Give me a character" ask meme: Our wonderful, wonderful ocs, Hestia and Jubilee!! (or you can just do Hestia if you only want to do one character)
MADAM YOU THINK I WOULD PASS UP THE OPPORTUNITY TO TALK ABOUT WHY I LOVE JUBILEE?? YOU THINK WRONG
Jubilee
Why I like them: She’s wonderful, perfect, literally the most amazing OC, I’d do anything for her and for you, I love her with all my heart, she’s incredible. She’s so strong, and
Why I don’t: I quite honestly cannot think of a single reason as to why I would not absolutely love Jubilee. I would die for her.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): If I have to choose a moment from one of our RPs, I’d probably have to say when she took down Macavity in our Alice in Wonderland RP. In a story, probably when she tricked the animal catcher into thinking Mungojerrie was her boyfriend during their first meeting! Mungojerrie truly met his match that day!
Favorite season/movie: I’m using this for RPs/Stories, and I’d probably have to say that my favorite RP/Story version of Jojo would probably have to be when we did the Gothenburg/Circus RP. That was one of my favorite RPs we did!!
Favorite line: “Don’t call me cupcake!” We love fierce fighting Jojo!! (though I do have a few favorite lines of hers that are coming up in the Human AU!!)
Favorite outfit: Pirate!Jojo, obviously!! I love our pirate girls with all my heart! Though Steampunk!Jubilee is a very close second, of course! (speaking of... I am starting on the Siren AU this weekend!!!)
OTP: Jubilee/Mungojerrie, who else! Curls and Cheshire forever!
Brotp: Jubilee and Hestia, Jubilee, Dorsey, and Trave, Jubilee and Rumpleteazer, Jubilee, Sekhmet, and Ares
Head Canon: Jubilee doesn’t think she’s the greatest dancer, but she’s actually really graceful. If there’s a prank that goes awry in the Junkyard, or perhaps something goes flying towards her (like a snail Ares is chucking at Hestia), Jubilee can duck out of the way as if she’s dancing. Even if she thinks she can’t dance, she can move normally like she’s one of the best dancers in the tribe, and it quite honestly baffles Munkustrap to no end.
Unpopular opinion: Jubilee deserves so much love oh my GOD SHE’S AMAZING!!! She’s an OC that I can absolutely see being part of an official production of Cats (👀)
A wish: For Jubilee to confront her mother and find closure! I know that’s something that may not ever happen, and her mother’s most likely passed away, but that’s an image I’ve always had in my mind, like Tugger confronting Grizabella, of Jubilee finally being able to confront her mother on why she was abandoned. Jubilee, happy, with a mate and a family who loves her, confronting the mother who left her for dead.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: For Jubilee’s mother to return and try to take her away from the Jellicles. If that ever happened I quite honestly think I would cry.
5 words to best describe them: Guarded, affectionate, strong, outgoing, fun-loving
My nickname for them: Jojo! I can’t think of any other nickname that could be more perfect other than Curls, but that’s just for Mungojerrie to use!
Hestia
Why I like them: She was my first Cats OC and I love her with all my heart!!!
Why I don’t: BRAIN EMPTY ONLY HESTIA NO QUASI JITTERBUG OR MIELA
Favorite episode (scene if movie): My favorite RP moment would definitely have to be during our Pirate RP when Hestia’s magic takes over! That was one of my favorite RPs, and that moment was really fun to write as development for a different AU version of Hestia’s character! Storywise, I’d have to say when our girls meet, because they just click instantly, and it makes me really happy whenever I go back and read that story.
Favorite season/movie: RP/Story version of Hestia has to be Steampunk!Hestia, just because of the angst I got to work into the RP. But, of course, I loved writing Pirate!Hestia also, because Pirate!Hestia and Pirate!Jubilee are amazing and I love them.
Favorite line: “You’re proposing?  Now?” from the Pirate AU!
Favorite outfit: Pirate!Hestia!!
OTP: Hestia and Tumblebrutus!! My loves 😌
Brotp: Hestia and Jubilee, Hestia, Sekhmet, Ares, Calliope, Fabre, and Ziggy, Hestia, Mungojerrie, Rumpleteazer, and Pouncival, Hestia and Jemima,
Head Canon: I consider our RPs to now be pretty much part of Hestia’s canon. Obviously, this includes Hestia’s scar that she received from Gothenburg Macavity. There are nights that she’ll wake up with nightmares of not being fast enough, and it’s Jubilee being hurt instead of her, or Quaxo, and while Tumblebrutus doesn’t exactly know what’s going on, he still hugs her close every time she wakes up crying.
Unpopular opinion: I love Hestia, but I need to work on my other OCs! I know I always say this, but I’m really hoping to get some shorts done for Quasi and Jitterbug, particularly where they (finally) meet the Jelliclles, and a few shorts for Miela, since I haven’t written any for her! At least Quasi and Jitterbug have gotten some RPs to help their characters out...
A wish: For Hestia to give my brain a rest
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: For Hestia’s magic to corrupt her. I don’t think it’lll happen, but there’s always that possibility... and the angst would be WONDERFUL.
5 words to best describe them: Shy, cautious, defensive, kindhearted, magical
My nickname for them: “Hettie” is the main one I use whenever friends are addressing her in stories. “Etta” is the nickname that family uses when addressing Hestia (her dads and siblings), and “Essie” is Tumblebrutus’ nickname for her!

TRAITS

BIOGRAPHY
Growing up, Alice knew nothing but love and acceptance no matter where she turned. Though she had no siblings herself, the rest of her extended family and family friends made it so she never really felt alone in the world, even in her pre-Hogwarts days. It took what would have otherwise been a shy and sweet girl, and made it so that when she did enter Hogwarts, it was with excitement to make even more friends and experience even more silly moments than what had occurred in the safety of her and others’ homes. While everyone in her family expected for her to be sorted into Hufflepuff, Alice refused when the Sorting Hat considered it. Yes, she would have fit well in that house, and maybe she would have loved being there, but her heart fought for Gryffindor, and won the battle.
It often confused others, even as the years went on, that she should be placed there. In truth, she did often fit in better with the Hufflepuffs, but Alice never felt happier at Hogwarts than while spending time in her common room giggling quietly at the random antics of the day, or comforting someone who needed a hug or someone to simply listen for awhile. People said she was too polite, too sweet, too quiet to be a Gryffindor. But then the war began to pull out the true Gryffindor within her.
All her life, and certainly as the war began to seep into the halls of Hogwarts, Alice held firm to the idea of one day being a healer. It seemed natural, given her caring nature and how much she genuinely loved to help others. Certainly, healers would be needed during the war as well, and she knew she would put her all into making sure each person who came in injured left in the best possible condition. As her fifth year rolled around however, the war was shooting fear through everyone, her parents would whisper about not knowing who to trust even in the ministry. While looking through the pamphlets of careers, though she by no means needed to, Alice found herself going back to the Auror Academy one repeatedly until one day she cracked.
Being a Healer would have been an incredibly important job, but slowly Alice was starting to wonder if her time wouldn’t be better spent somewhere she could provide actual help within the war. Someone who could either help defend those who needed it, or help capture the Death Eaters. Someone who wouldn’t be swayed by political discourse into covering up things to protect people involved with those terrorizing their world. Set in her new goal, Alice went about ascertaining that she would be a shoe in for the Auror Academy, knowing just how difficult it could be to get in. Along the way, she dealt with people telling her that her ideals of how to be a good auror were naive, and yet she still refuses to budge. It’s gotten her this far, and with a little determination (and admitted stubbornness), she’ll stick to her morals and find a way to help end this atrocious war that’s taken far too many lives, both innocent and not.
PLOT POINTS
I. Alice Prewett is – and always has been – full of surprises. When she arrived at Hogwarts, her parents (though immensely proud) were startled to discover that their sweet, meek Alice had been sorted into Gryffindor. And though she proved it lesson after lesson, her peers lived in a constant state of shock as little Alice executed powerful, awe-inspiring spells in Defense Against the Dark Arts perfectly, with only a whip of her wand, week after week. Years of rounded eyes and hanging jaws had prepared Alice for the reaction waiting for her at the Ministry on her first day at the Auror Academy. The sole trainee admitted that year a small, polite girl? No one bothered to hide the thought that gleamed so obviously in their wondering eyes. In turn, Alice didn’t bother to acknowledge how laughable their assumptions were; instead, she smiled as she sought out to prove them wrong. Two years have since passed, and Alice is the obvious favorite in all of the DMLE, considered by most to be both their sweetheart and most promising employee. Anyone who’s shared a drink with her after work, been stitched up by her willful wand after a sour assignment, or had the privilege of being gifted with a birthday basket of her baked goods, will tell you she is as genuine as they come. Anyone who’s been on the receiving end of her practice interrogations will vouch for her undeniable future as a maverick in the department at large. A future Alice is prepared to make the most of, and show everyone exactly why Alastor Moody grunts her praises.
II. Of all the compliments Alice has been paid throughout her short career, the best by far has been her final training assignment, which has turned into her first official position as a full fledged Auror: protecting the Prime Minister from Death Eaters at 10 Downing. As if rubbing elbows with the Prime Minister wasn’t exciting enough, being partnered with Frank Longbottom, whom she knew to be one of the best Aurors in the field in spite of how young his career is, was nothing short of a thrill. The assignment turned out to be a blessing in every sense of the word. Not only did Frank make for an excellent mentor, but wonderful company. He introduced her to the Order of the Phoenix shortly after they began their assignment, prompting even more opportunities for them to spend time together. It wasn’t long before a romantic relationship blossomed between the two, and now that it’s growing more serious, it’s become a careful balancing act of not letting their feelings get in the way of protecting the Prime Minister.
OTHER CONNECTIONS
Fabian & Gideon Prewett: Though Alice didn’t grow up with siblings, Fabian and Gideon are almost as good as. They’re quick to come to Alice’s defense when she needs it, and quick to be the ones harassing her when she doesn’t. Only two years their junior, the Prewetts spent several summers together, exploring their magical gardens and taking baking lessons from their grandmother. Though the years have passed and the world around them has changed, Alice can always count on her cousins to do anything but. The three of them keep each other from taking the world too seriously—something that’s more difficult to remember with every passing day as the war rages on.
Miriam Strout: Alice had assumed, coming into Hogwarts, that she and her long time best friend, Hestia Jones, would be room mates, no matter which house they were sorted into. Finding herself without her Hufflepuff of a friend and among Gryffindors who were commonly far more outgoing than herself, Alice found solstice in finding a like minded person in Miriam Strout. The two girls were instant friends, rarely doing anything without the other. For years, they prepared themselves to go into healing with one another, and continue their friendship beyond Hogwarts. Once Alice chose to go into the Auror Academy instead, a strain formed between them that they have slowly healed over the years as they’ve cheered on another on in their respective new careers. Things may never be quite the same between them as they were in Hogwarts, but Alice is positive that she has a friend for life in Miriam.
FATE
Alice SURVIVES the FIRST WIZARDING WAR, but spends the years following in ST. MUNGO’S.
Alice Prewett is TAKEN.

Greek Mythology and Rune Factory
The Rune Factory games had a huge impact on my life and had an element of mythology that made me see it in everyday life. The impact of mythology was easy to see after reading about Greek mythology in middle school and World Mythology. Each character from Rune Factory represents a character of Greek Mythology: the gods, the heroes, and the creatures.
The Rune Factory game is about an amnesiac farmer, who must save the day from the Sech Empire. Each time you play he can find love, befriend the villagers, and make a life for himself. You level up your character by taking on dungeons and battling boss characters. Your character meets a young girl, Mist, who saves his life by giving him water and bread. She proceeds to give him a hoe, water can, and a farm to make a living. It is there that, after special requirements are met, the player can start going into dungeons. The gamer can find the mysterious machines in the dungeons and takes on Terrible, the earth dragon god. Along the way, the character gains fame in the nearby town as he takes on the dungeons and takes on creatures such as the game’s own version of Chimera. It is also heavily suggested that your character is the prince of Kardia, the central kingdom of the game’s world.
Raguna, the character’s default name, is obviously the stereo type of hero seen in many of the myths. Raguna goes on a trip and finds his way home and a family which he promises to come back to. He also finds a calling, fights monsters, and saves the day. Raguna is the epitome of the hero stereotype. Raguna comes from an unknown background, which is heavily hinted to be one of the princes of Kardia, at in the end but has no proof that it is the truth. Raguna has the “earthmate air” around him as Mist will often point. Earthmate is the equivalent of an actual hero in the game as they are known to speak to the earth and tame monsters. Earthmates in the same sense of regards to mythology can be equal to nymphs. They both are keyed into nature.
Mist is seen as Athena in world mythology. She, like Athena does for Odysseus, guides Raguna through the game. She starts by teaching Raguna how to farm and fight. She would give Raguna advise but would never fight the main bosses beside him much like Athena not fighting the suitors alongside Odysseus. Athena seems to favor Odysseus and Mist favors Raguna. Mist demonstrates some of the main characteristics of Athena. Mist has a strange knowledge about the magic and situations of the land and weapon expertise. Mist gives the main character his first spell, his first weapon which is his hoe, and an explanation of the first dungeon. Overall, she shows a great example of the idea of Athena in a character.
Rosetta could be Artemis because she, like Artemis, is seen as a tomboy in their time era. This game is based on the medieval times where women are to be seen and not heard. They are bargain chips for political power or greater wealth through marriage. Rosetta is very outgoing and loud letting her opinion be heard. She practically runs the shop her father owns. Lukas, even though in love with her, hates to make her mad and will run off before she takes her temper out on him. Artemis is known for her cold nature and killing others for not properly respecting her or her mother. She is very commanding and seems to be a true ruler. She and Rosetta can get their fathers to bend to their will. Artemis got her father to promise that  he would not force her to marry and Rosetta took over her father’s general shop.
Mei is also another Artemis character. She is Aphrodite as well due to her young and youthful appearance. Mei is a tough and cruel girl who has a youthful experience that deceives the player at first. She is of unknown age, but it is said that she might be hundreds of years old. She shows the part of Aphrodite who is beautiful and ageless. Mei perhaps, however, represents Artemis the best. She hates everyone especially men as she finds men to be the ruin of the world. She loves to fish which is a form of hunting. Mei loves to be left alone and not be bothered much like Artemis prefers the company of the night. Artemis is also known for her beauty, again just like Mei. Mei is known for being strange and Artemis is often represented as strange due to her heritage and attitude towards others. She is the most like Artemis out of the group as she shows a hate of men, a love for the hunt, and a need to be alone. She also is the second hardest girl to marry in the game as she only wants the rarest and hardest catch fish to be proposed to, making the actual marriage almost impossible.
Raguna represents a feminist hero like Perseus. Raguna wears sandals and has the ornaments most seen on female characters of the game. He has a charm on his head like Mist and Sharron both, who are females. He represents the feminist type of hero greatly due to these outer characteristics alone. Raguna takes help from female characters that has been shown to be a more of a feminist hero action.. Raguna also gets help with each dungeon from the females. Mist, the main heroine, is the female to help him the most,  but Raguna did get help from Sharron, a mysterious woman who meets Raguna at the Ruins dungeon. Raguna helps represent the Greek stereotype feminist hero. He is not afraid to ask for help and accept help from females. Raguna helps bring out the Greek mythology themes just like the artwork does.
The artwork of the game itself shows many themes of Greek styling. The buildings of the ruins show statues like Hestia as it seems to be a woman hunched over tending a fire in some parts of the ruins. They also include creatures similar or an exact replica of the monsters heroes would take on in epic quests. One is that is an exact replica from Greek Mythology is the Chimera. It showed an inclination towards blood lust and would often kill Raguna off if you did not have the character up to level twenty or higher showing the fierceness of the monster. Raguna had to take on similar monsters. They even had their own Trojan horse. The game itself incorporated many of the myths’ types and even brought out some of the more harsh and common problems.
The game harbored on the realistic side of things as Raguna could not do anything for the next dungeon nor could he do anything for his farm without making money. He had to meet certain expectations as well before he could move from one dungeon to the next besides beating the main boss of said dungeon. If we are to continue thinking through the path of the game being related to Greek mythology, it could show the hardships of the people who too had to live through those times. Raguna had to make ends meet and could not just go on quest after quest. He would always have to find a way to make money showing how the Greeks most likely had to do the same to afford all their battling and exploring. It helps us understand their predicament better. Rune Factory gave us a realistic Greek feel of what it would have been like in the past.
Rune Factory games all had their own major gods. In this game there is one called Terrible. Terrible is a great presentation of both Gaia and Cronus. Cronus is the titan of time and Terrible enhances time in the game as he will make time stop before he cracks out of his old shell of his former self. He is Gaia due to bringing about green pastures and controlling the ground itself. However, Terrible is also one of the easiest dragon gods to beat. He and the other dragon gods you have to beat in the games are based on my theory the four events that took place to give room for the Greek gods. Terrible is representing Uranus and Gaia as Gaia becomes angry due to Uranus throwing their children into Tarturus that same as the Sech Republic trying to take over Kardia and burn it to “hell.” Terribl,e while not having children did, have control of flowers and all of nature which in turn could be seen as its children to which Terrible uses to stop the Sechs. This is a prime example of the Greek myths being used.
Rune Factory is the example I have provided of mythology due to its blatant use of Greek mythology references, styles, and symbols. It was easy to see with Raguna being the stereotypical hero figure and Mist being Athena as she interacts with Odysseus. Each character has the stereo type of the Greek gods and some are more heavily influenced and apparent than others. The game brings out the ideas of Greek Mythology and gave us a realistic interpretation of the life of Greeks in the Greek mythology era.
