I made two new OCs!

Abilo da Costa is the son of Beatrice da Costa and Charlie Rhoades. Like his mother, he has pyrokinesis, a pyroplasmic form, and can fly. He lives in Brazil with his parents and fights crime under the alias Vulcan with his partner (and girlfriend!) Captain Cyro.

Danika is the oldest daughter of Tora Olafsdotter and Guy Gardner. When she was just 11 years old, her parents separated and later divorced, leading to Tora taking Danika and her younger brother to Brazil. Danika spent her teen years next door to the da Costa family where she developed a crush on her obnoxious neighbor, Abilo. She fights crime under the alias Captain Cyro with her partner (and boyfriend!) Vulcan.

in honor of me and my friend going to see ATSV tomorrow, i decided to make a spidersona which is more like a spider oc with some aspects of me. Her pronouns are she/they, and since their dad is from brazil, i decided to give her some aspects of that like her name. if i make more, i’ll add more.

i had so much fun working on this and im sorry if the color scheme is weird, i wanted it to seem like her as Water-Aranha would be a totally different person than her, so i choose some colors that she wouldn’t wear often. and she is mostly water based because they were bitten by a radioactive fishing spider, or a water spider

So i remember seeing Haliee Steinfeld describe Gwen’s world as a mood ring, so I imagine Abilo’s world is kinda like an ocean, with regular colors being overlapped by a mix of blues, greens, and yellows and as things get more serious or sadder, the overlapping colors would get more darker, so i might do what they do with Hobie Brown in the movie and show that through my art if i draw her again

So just some updates on the revamped names:

Benedicta Alejandra Hawke y Amell - in true spanish colonial fashion I decided to go and give Benedicta an extra first name (it’s normal here to have two names so-) along with adding the y [maternal surname]. Benedicta’s name as a whole now translates to Blessed Defender of Mankind. (also for all my pinoy coded Hawkes, I actually HC Malcolm’s surname to actually be Halcon or Lawin along with his first name not really being Malcolm but after fleeing the Circle, he changed his name to make sure all his tracks are hidden)

Dalisay Kato Bagwisan - I fixed the spelling of the word away from its hispanicised spelling because fuck off colonisation I don’t need you in this bs when my focus is pre-colonial. Bagwis = soft feathers and from what I’ve double checked, Bagwisan is more like pulling off the feathers

Atubang Mahalina Kato Bagwisan - Atubang translates to advisor so that’s not a second name so much as Mahalina being called the advisor to his mother, Hara Luwalhati

Elaria “Aria” Anita Hawke y Amell - Whole name meaning is A glorified and graceful being.

Amada Carmelita dela Rosa y Salazar - This is a new OC for a WS I made and the whole name meaning from first to last names are Lovable Little Poem of the Rose and Manor House

Valeria Herminia “Inyang” Hawke y Amell - Inyang’s new name meaning is Strong Messenger

Punong Tambalan Sampaguita “Guita” Kato Marahuyo - Punong Tambalan is Guita’s title which translates to Head Healer while her clan name translates to “to be enchanted”

Don Romualdo Abilo Tumangan y Veneracion - Translated, Romualdo’s name meanings are (and this is by mixing the order up) One who is able to rule, to hold and venerate (I know Veneracion is Veneration but you get the gist)

Divina Luciana Hawke y Alonzo - Translated Divina’s names turns into Divine Light
