#oc: cherryfur

sooo i redesigned a lot of my childhood warrior cats ocs... some of them I totally forgot about until I raided an old page of mine LOL. I could have kept their original bright colors and designs, but I liked the challenge of finding colorways and cat shapes/breeds that are more plausible than what I depicted in my art from age 9 to 12 :]

This is Cherryfur/Cherryfrost, who I made a Siberian cat. In the redesign, I tried to hint at her old pink very lightly in her stripes. I also made her and heartmelt/roseheart siblings, since they were both once pink :)

This is Bloodmask, who I renamed Russetmask. I figured russet was as close to blood-colored as a real cat would get, lol. I'm not sure how plausible a mask pattern is on a russet cat, but what's warrior cats without a little implausibility? His original character was very edgy, so I tried to translate that outlandishness into a more realistic characteristic - I made him a feral cat turned deputy, which seems like a social no-no.

This is Shreddedstar. She was the leader of "BeastClan", a clan I made which was the home for a Warriors RPG group I hosted. Years later I deleted that group in a fit of embarrassment and now I HATE that I did that, because I had some nice memories from there! In the redesign, I didn't keep the Clan's trait of wearing animal pelts and teeth, because honestly I did not feel like looking for reference and making it make sense. I renamed her Foxstar, after her orange pelt, and I also gave her markings because apparently pure orange cats don't exist. She's an American Bobtail.

This is the oldest digital art I think I have. And Nightscar is the oldest warrior cat OC I have! He was renamed Nightbird because I don't think Foxstar would be so mean as to make his warrior name a comment on his scars. I made him an Oriental Shorthair.

I forgot about these two until I found this art. Idk if they were for anything or if I ever drew them again, but I pulled them out of retirement. I renamed Whispersong (left) to Whisperthroat and Jadestorm (right) to Lichenbark, to reference her former green design. I also changed their whole backstory... idk why but at ~10 years old all my cats had dead parents and were traumatized about it in some way. I think that was my childhood brain's concept of a character idea.

This girl is Heartmelt, who was another BeastClan character! I renamed her Roseheart and made her sisters with Cherryfrost - she's a Siberian like her sister. in the name of realism I sadly got rid of her pinkness and hearts. But, I left her a heart on her chest :]

Last but not least is the unfortunately named "Painfulshadow". I renamed him Slateshade and tried to keep a little indication of his wings in his patterning :) he's a domestic shorthair classic tabby.

honestly names like Sweetpelt get me so hard i love them. something about the simplicity of it

like Cherryfur? Swampfur? Blossomtail? im in love with their names

For the hypokit ask with your warrior kitty OCs how bout uhhhh Birchfoot and… *throws pin at a wall* Cherryfur. And Pikewing and Hawkflower? Man these are so random I’m sorry, I tried

Birchfoot (brown tom with white paws and a white spot on his chest) + Cherryfur (calico she-cat)

Fawnkit (light brown and white tabby molly)- gentle and kind-hearted, Fawnkit is a shoe-in for the next medicine cat. Her papa taught her to always value the cats around you more than societal norms, and she often crosses into other territories to assist other medicine cats during dire times. This makes her less-than-popular with the older crowd, but apprentices flock to her for advice on cross-border romance and friendships. (Later named Fawnheart).

Rockkit (black and white long-furred molly)- named after Stonebird, Rockkit has her mother's passion and both her parents' sense of loyalty. She trains hard every day to be a great warrior, and puts her faith in justice over her ancestors. Someday, she could make a great deputy, and help run the Clan alongside her sister. (Later named Rockclaw).

Pikewing (white and brown tabby she-cat) + Hawkflower (dark gray tabby tom)

Fallingkit (orange long-furred cat)- Named for Fallingfeather, Fallingkit grows into a sensible, but stern, cat. Proudly nonbinary, they actively fight against any sort of injustice or bigotry. They aren't the best hunter (being neon orange and all) but they're a well-regarded cat in the Clans and it's always an honor to be mentored by them. (Later named Fallingfire).

Antkit (scrawny brown tom)- they were originally undecided on the name for Antkit. Hawkflower thought of honoring Leafleg (a shitty mentor, but still taken before his time) but didn't want to upset Grayfeather, so Pikewing told him all about leafcutter ants, and Antkit it was.

Like his mother, Antkit is very studious and loves to infodump, but while Pikewing loves bugs, Antkit loves Clan history. He could go on and on about the ancient Tunnelers of WindClan, the legend of how TigerClan got their stripes, SkyClan's banishment from the forest. He's a bit lost in his own world, but he's a good hunter, and an even better den-builder. (Later named Antfall).

Dogwoodkit (silver tabby molly)- named for the ghost that helped RiverClan and WindClan be rid of the dog, Dogwoodkit has no spiritual connections of her own. Heck, she doesn't even believe in that stuff! All she cares about is what's right in front of her. She wants to keep her home safe and sound, and isn't afraid to shed blood to do it. She's the go-to warrior for patrols and battles, but rarely is given any apprentices or let into senior warrior discussions bc of her blatant lack of faith. She IS a bit salty about that. (Later named Dogwoodtail).

My latest set of OCs

Cherryfur- a black and white she-cat with a torn up nose.

And her kits

Palewren- a black tom with white spots on his face

Palerobin- a black tom with white spots on his face

Lichendawn- a grey tabby tom

Wolfteeth- a grey tabby she-rabbit with sharp teeth

Wolfteeth was the result of Starclan's meddling. Wolfkit died soon after her birth. So Lichenwhisker, Cherryfur's mate, sent Wolfkit to be reincarnated, to find her mom again.

Another cat, Picklebelly, who was always trying to push the limits of Starclan, decided to cast her spirit into a rabbit kit. He took Wolfkit to her mother.

Cherryfur to her credit took her daughter in. She didn't question starclan's will. She nursed her four kits and groomed them for apprenticeship, all things mothers do.

When it was time for their ceremony, the hard as nails, tired Deputy took on Wolfpaw. Rabbitshout was tough on her. He treated her just like any other apprentice. Something she appreciated, even if it earned her many training scars.

What she didn't like was her being banned from gatherings. She was an apprentice just like her siblings, she deserved to see the other cats.

But her leader eased her anger by promising that she may go as soon as she was made a warrior.

And eventually that came. Wolfteeth traveled at her mother and brothers sides to the gathering. The shock was tangible as the other clans watched Windclan bring in a rabbit.

There was even more shock when she started talking to the other warriors. Talking like a cat, with a sandy tongue and sharp teeth.

Though once the shock was over she did actually manage to make some friends in the Thunderclan Elders. The half blind, half gone cats were surprisingly good company.

But even that didn't calm the leaders torment. They teased Windclan for taking a rabbit as a warrior. Luckily Picklebelly put a quick end to that with a cold rain over the gathering.

The rest of the story is Wolfteeth trying to earn back her cat body.

i love seeing more lgbt+ warrior cat ocs! i hardly ever see them, and a tiny amount of chars in the books, altho i outgrew the books, it still has a place in my heart!

As a nonbinary lesbian ace is it my SWORN DUTY to make all my cats LGBT+ and them’s just the facts lol.
