El wanders a lot, these days. He has nothing to tie him down, and so he drifts through life like a leaf on the breeze. He can’t say he minds. There are worse ways to live.

As the pavement becomes smooth and the apartments begin to be identical houses all lined up in a row, El isn’t very surprised. He’s not surprised much at all, anymore. He just keeps walking. If he’s here, maybe he’s meant to be.

There's a little boy playing out front of one of them, almost everything about him clashing with the perfect identical setting. He's covered in mud, for one, he's dug a hole in one of the gardens, and he has utterly refused to wear a shirt.

He doesn't notice the other person, elbows deep in the hole, and possibly eating worms. If those count as worms.

The universe has decided to let Kelpie live for another day, and he's about to make that everyone's problem.

He wakes up sometime after noon, escaping from Selkie -who has been clinging to him like he's a stuffed animal- and hobbling over to the kitchen.

"Choccy milk?"

Lucy being Lucy, she's already cooking breakfast. Or, more accurately, she's holding an empty pan over the stove and anticipating food manifesting. She hasn't really eaten in years.

The pantry is empty. Her hands are cold.

"Oh? Oh, yes, let me make you some."

BAM POW!! Meet team 8bit! They are all bundled up for the winter 🙈

They are a team of octolings that include characters that I created with some friends! Starting from the left we have Bo - who belongs to the wonderful @leftoverbriocheloaf! Then there’s Eden, who belongs to me, then Torin, who belongs to the amazing @paninipanem, and Keplie, who belongs to the lovely @keplieart! Art is by me :)

These four are so special to me because we created them like..omg. Like, 6 years ago, and I still think about them all the time. We spent so long developing their designs and backstories and stuff 😭😭 they mean so much to me AHH

I will probably definitely be drawing a lot of them! The ask box is always open for anyone with questions! :D

Kelpie is getting restless. But he can't leave yet, not until the bandages are off. Besides, Selkie seems to be starting to like this place.

It's been a long time since he's used a Tv. He's probably mucking it up. But after a little bit of button mashing, it switches on. Yay!!

Oh he's a tma oc from a while back when tmasonas were making rounds! Vast avatar, mainly ocean side though

He didn't drown drown, in that he was drowning but he didn't die. Became an avatar of the vast instead :D

Cassie spies something in the lake and knows it's a mermaid. She doesn't know how she knows. She might very well be crazy. But if it is what she thinks it is, she has to come and see it.

So, she takes off her overcoat and dives straight in.

Kelpie isn't used to being surprised in his own domain. Especially not from someone jumping in. Wow. She must be really dumb or really friendly!!

He swims over to her, curiously bumping his shoulder into her and smacking her with his tail. Not to cause any harm -yet- but just to see.

Kelpie sees someone he recognizes. She doesn't see him yet, but he shouldn't let her. That's the lady who followed him into the lake.

The bug guy must have done something. He starts coughing again in his haste to get out of sight, tripping and hitting the pavement.

She runs to him, her arms outstretched, her eyes bright and frantic.

There is blood on her hands.

Kelpie looks unconcerned about the fire, squealing in delight as he sees Willard. He crouches down and starts petting her, looking back behind him briefly.

There's a building on fire,and in front of it lays a very fluffy reddish brown cat, unharmed and clearly enjoying the flames. Walking closer one can hear her purring.

I know that in mythology, a kelpie is a horse. However, the description also states that he is stronger and more enduring than any horse, and it is usually mules that have this characteristic. So yes, it is a mule x) In fact a dead end branch
