Late to this, but I got tagged by @serenpedac and @sustainably-du-mortain to make my ocs with this picrew. I decided to make two detectives from the wayhaven chronicles, and two of my Sidesteps!

Lily Of The Valley

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

dinah(twc)- answered here

emma(twc)- I wanted a scaredy cat detective. someone who would hide when there was danger and was really just too soft for the world she's been pulled into. I also wanted to romance Nat and I thought her overprotective streak would pair well with a more anxious detective. and I wanted her to have a cleft chin! that was very important to me

kira(twc)-when I first started playing ifs I was making a different oc for every ro and as a result they weren't always very distinct from each other personality wise. kira was pretty much just another dinah to try on adam's solo route. she's developed more and become more distinct since then though.

Riley(twc)-I was inspired by samira wiley who I think is just so beautiful. riley is one of my few ocs who actually has a face claim. I did want her to also have glasses and be plus sized but with similar facial features to samira

cynthia(fhr)- my friend cristal was a big inspiration for how cynthia looks! cynthia didn't really come to life until after I'd played rebirth a few times and finally played the retribution demo. the braid scene destroyed me and just gave me such bad brain rot. so basically the first thing I decided about cynthia is that she is so very in love with julia (I mean aren't we all at this point?)

curtis(fhr)- my inspiration for curtis was to make a step who used humor a lot to deflect. one who doesn't take anything too seriously. I was planning on setting up for the chen/ortega throuple but it just didn't really vibe. I was really stuck on curtis for while I couldn't really figure him out. I knew I wanted humor to be a part of his whole things and for him to choose sidestep as a villain name because I hadn't tried that yet. it took a long time to come together but I absolutely love how he has developed

Romi(fhr)- okay so this one is a little embarrassing. the original plan was for romi to have a secret crush with julia. lots of pining and that whole queer expereince of being in love with your best friend but it taking a long time to figure that out and then being afraid of ruining things. anyways the first thing I choose was her name which is a play off of romeo to go with julia/juliet. but then I chose the wrong thing and ended up with ricardo 🤷‍♀️

James(fhr)- I created james when I was having a hard time connecting to romi. the first thing I decided was that I wanted him to have a mirror image puppet so I could explore that content in the game

Addie(a6)- I was thinking about the music box that the traveler has and decided I wanted to have mine be a dancer so that there was a deeper connection to this one piece that she has from her old life.

Narni(a6)- I needed a mean oc to butt heads with cal and damien. first thing I decided was that I wanted them to have like purple skin because purple is the best color

Daen(a6)- they aren't super developed tbh. I wanted a human traveler since I had the other races. I wanted him to be a jokester, generally good natured and always down for a good time

lark barrow(greenwarden)- first thing I decided was that they would have a shaved head because at the time I really wanted to shave my head and could do so vicariously through an if

sozan(atoc)- I'd already played through what was available of atoc at the time so I was thinking what sort of character would be interesting/how I could see a person reacting to what we knew of the story so far. I wanted her to be a survivor more than anything else. they've spent most of their life on the run which has made them blunt and a little rough around the edges.

bernie wiseman(mindblind)- I heard about sally's route and knew I had to play it. bernie is super underdeveloped. first thing I decided about her was probably her name bernadette and nickname bernie because I thought it would be super cutere

bethany blake (body count)-I needed to romance charlie. honestly the first thing I decided about her was the she would be anxious and probably so ill cut out to go on a reality show

kenna of shadows end- no real inspiration beside wanting to try out manerkol's romance route. first thing I decided was that she would be plus sized and have a roman nose

molly lucas- the main thing I knew I wanted with molly was for her to hold out for the step 4 love confession. because god it's glorious. just as much slow burn as I could possibly get out of the game

aiden- the newest baby! I was inspired to finally create an oc for the exile after reading the chapter 4 update (I knew I would eventually it was just a matter of when the brain rot would hit) he's a pheonix and I wanted to do something a little different with his appearance than the red hair to represent flames so instead I went with grey like ash as if the mythosi blood has burned him away reduced him to ashes which feels very fitting seeing how we are introduced to the commander. I also knew he was going to be in love with sabir because how could you not be?

anwyn- first thing I decided was that she would be a bitch. that was the main inspiration lmao. also came up with some tragic backstory stuff. honeslty like her name and class were among the last things I actually thought of.

I was tagged by @sustainably-du-mortain and @wayhavenots to take this quiz for my oc’s and I am Very Late doing this.

It’s an open tag for anybody that’s interested because I don’t know who all as done this already!!

Abby Brùn - Mercury

clever. intelligent and witty. wisdom, sharpness, anxiety and indecisiveness. you are the comedian. the "make someone laugh if they are crying" kind of lover. you dont want to think too much about anything because that stops you from just having fun, but your brain doesn't ever shut off. you are curious and never ending. forecast and shadows. the smell of clean sheets.

This is kind of 50/50 for Abby. I wouldn’t say she’s the ‘witty funny one’ but she’s definitely a mess with her own anxiety. Every decision is makes is one she either stresses herself over, or makes in a knee-jerk panic moment.

Kira Langford - Earth

nurturing, generous and caring. introverted, tolerant, honest and trustworthy. you are "my phone is always on, call me any time." you are "i feel like i'm everyone's therapist." you are impressive with your stability and and peacefulness. you are wallpapers of cows and fields of ever-growing seeds. you are the best friend. mother nature. ice cold water and the smell of rain.

This fits for Kira! She’s the soft, gentle one. The one that puts everybody’s needs above her own, because that’s how she thinks she needs to be to get people to stay in her life.

Sam Rodriguez - Neptune

mercy. kindness. sweet. forgiving and compassionate. you are second chances and sometimes third. you are "its ok because everyone makes mistakes." you are "i forgive you as long as you are learning." you are not held down by the demands of your ego. you believe and right and fair. open mindedness and friendship. you are mystical and magical, observant and the smell of warm bread in the morning

This is an interesting one for Sam. So much of their attitude with everything is just…laid back. I guess they’re one to forgive, because it really takes a lot to get on their bad side to the point they cut you off. They also are one that is going to make anybody and everybody be their friend no matter what (exactly how they basically forced all of UB to be their friend lol). I can’t say they’re sweet necessarily because they’re kind of a menace.

passion. energy. drive. determination. you are sexual and it doesn't always have to mean what it so blatantly is. you are in tune with yourself and your body and if you don't already feel it, please try to tune into it because it is so powerful. you are at war with yourself and life and it doesn't always have to be so hard. anger is not a useless emotion but do not let it control you. love is more powerful than sex will ever be. you are the smell of fresh cut grass and a satisfied job done.

Oh, this fits her almost perfectly. She’s in tune with herself in the worst ways at times (wrapped up in her head and body, unable to let herself just exist), so she needs to find a healthier balance there. So much of her is just anger and fighting: life, others, herself. She’s terrified of love, so sex is the best thing she thinks she can provide

if we are being honest all they need to do is like be emotionally mature and available. she does not make good choices about relationships and as much as she may romanticize it she is scared of emotional vulnerability. mind you she usually runs from those before they get into actual relationship status.

Dinah-- work is the most important thing

emma-- the less needs you have the more people will want to spend time with you

kira- how to do a pushup (it's one of the few memories she has. interrupting her dad while he was trying to sneak a workout in. being so very confused by what he was doing and refusing to leave until he taught her how to play like he was)

OC question for you, aml!! If your OCs all lived together in the same universe (whatever that looks like lol), what would their dynamic be??Who would be fast friends, who would hate each other, who's getting thrown off the island at the first opportunity?

Emma would be trying so hard to get along with everyone and keep everyone happy. absolutely terrified of vesper and anwyn

I could see James and Serena getting along, they both tend to approach life with an ironic distance and sort of bleak outlook covered with humor.

Kira, Riley, and Sozan would probably get along or at least be able to connect talking about music.

I think Cyn and Romi would get along eventually

everyone would be irritated with curtis

vesper would hate everyone because that's just who they are. maybe a little bit of grudging respect towards anwyn

they'd both get voted off the island real quick

💕-Describe their ideal/dream Valentine’s day experience. Would they like to go out to a fancy dinner and maybe a carriage ride in the park? Something more private and lowkey? Something more ostentatious and over the top?

Dinah would say something low-key just a quiet dinner at home, maybe a nice bottle or wine and curled up watching a movie. but honestly she would really love something a little more dramatic, she just doesn't feel like she's worth it or that she can ask for that. someone to sweep her off her feet and really lay on the romance would make her melt (if she could just shut up that negative little voice in the back of her mind saying she doesn't deserve it at all)

For Emma a secluded weekend getaway would be wonderful. Renting a cabin out in the woods, where they can cook dinner together and curl up together on the couch with cocoa? maybe play some board games. really the important part is getting time where she doesn't feel pulled in different directions. where they can just focus on each other.

Kira would love a night on the town. tickets to a musical would have her beaming from ear to ear.

Valentine's day for Riley is less about romantic relationships and more an opportunity to celebrate all the people she loves and holds dear in her life. so she would love to throw a dinner party maybe have some silly games that make everyone groan but they end up having a great time anyway.

1: Abigail ‘Abby’ Brùn - just a tired, anxious giant trying her best. Really loves Nate even if it takes her awhile to stop being afraid of that feeling

2: Kira Langford - Small with a heart of gold and just wants to be Good. Started a fling with Mason that she’s still trying to tell herself is still just something fun.

3: Emma Dayal - Another sweetheart of the group. Loves music, the gym, and Ava’s arms. ‘Tu Omnia’ lives in her head 24/7

4: Sam Nesset - Menace to society. They have two settings: ‘chaos time’ and ‘loving their girlfriend Farah’. No in between.

Amaryllis- what is something or someone that your muse takes pride in?   how do they express that pride?  

She takes pride in her work, and that she tries to be a good and fair person. Kira also prides herself in her work with the team! 

She doesn’t actively shove stuff down peoples through but she appreciates it when others comments of it and often says thank you.

Daffodil- is your muse one to be loyal in relationships ,   or are they likely to quickly move from one bond to another?

Yes! When Kira falls in love, she falls in love. It can cause problems, like with Adam that lead to a lot of pining (especially since she’s fallen hard for him)

Poppy- what comforts your muse ?

Her friends, photography, her family, Team Bravo. When she needs some comfort these things always help.

1. What’s a unique skill they have? Is their any reason why they can do it?

Kira is an excellent singer. she doesn’t usually sing in front of other people, but she does sing a lot at home/when she’s by herself. she usually does vocal warm ups and scales every morning as she’s getting ready for work

Emma can knit and crochet. she’s always been a fan of textile crafts and she likes to make gifts for her loved ones. She likes to have something to keep her hands busy so she can feel like she’s being productive/useful

15. How good are they at conversation? Are they a small talk master, bad at initiating, etc?

Both are good at conversation. Kira is very good at drawing people in and often finds herself the center of attention and leaves a very memorial (and almost always favorable) impression. Emma is a bit quieter, but she is able to connect with people easily and they often end up telling her more than they meant to because she is such a good listener/really makes them feel heard

16. What food do they absolutely hate?

Kira is lactous intolerant so she has to avoid dairy if that counts. Emma really dislikes fish/sea food.
