🪐 name three good things going on in your life right now

i have a great circle of friends who i see regularly and who i never really have drama with

my job is one where i feel good about the work i get done, and i like my coworkers

my immersion blender. i love her. she makes so many things smooth and because of her i can make refried beans, hummus, pesto, weird edamame pastes, and dressings with.

🍓 how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

when i was about, oh, i think 11 or 12, i was obsessed with teen titans. thought only of robin, slade (better known to normal comic fans as deathstroke), and sometimes raven. one day i decided to write my own story with the characters like i'd seen people do on fanfiction dot net. what i wrote was basically just a total rip-off of season 4's three-episode arc "The End" with an OC named Rhea stuffed in. (I just really liked the name Rhea at the time.) i wrote around 5 chapters, which i printed out and then handed to my friends who also watched the show. i think i gave one of them the last chapter as a birthday gift.

anyway, that's how i started WRITING fanfiction. it took the wrecking ball of death note for me to make a fanfiction dot net account and start posting yaoi-brained fic of several citrus varieties. my old account is still up, BTW, for those who want to play internet detective and find it.

🦴 is there a piece of media that inspires your writing? 

oh geez, there's many pieces of media that inspire my work. a recent example i guess is the fic im currently working on, which initially was pretty straightforward smut that formed a little curve I didn't expect. i realized today that the curve echoes the one in the movie Secretary. you think the story is about a dominant partner perverting the innocent submissive partner, but really this is the sub finding their power and exposing the fear in the dominant that holds them back. its the vibes, the themes, that make the most powerful inspirations.

I forgot about Rhea for a while. The sudden change for her pokemon names is a pretty massive thing, do you think anyone will miss the old names or were they never that important? Also what do you think is the most memorable trait that Rhea has? What are the main important facts about her?

i hardly talked about rhea on here, honestly. my rhea brainrot was all on twitter dms to a friend, and since then i've made drastic changes to her character (like, originally, she was going to be shipped with cain and fern, but i switched up to vicky and saphira when the Gender Preference Switch™ hit). so i doubt people will miss the old names, since hardly anyone on here knew them in the first place. the one i think people may miss the most is koa, but its new name fits it better i think.

memorable....? uh. probably her pokemon gimmick. she is my eevee oc basically. has an eeveeloution of every type.

related to taka and solaris- one of her grandparents on her mom's side was solaris' older sibling, who ran away from reborn with the 5th key to the shrine. it was passed down to her eventually

a small group of people followed thay grandparent in an effort to get the key (obsidian starshard) back, eventually resorting to more and more drastic and violent means.

this results in both of her parents dying as a result of an attack to retrieve it.

OOOOH BOY LOADED QUESTION.

i have been waiting for an ask like this. you dont even know. i looove fun facts and i have a few laying around.

gonna stick to my main character ocs since they have the most stuff about them- i have some side ocs like rue and rene but they are not nearly as developed, so there'd be little to no fun facts for them

also gonna try and keep this, somewhat organized but it's bound to devolve.

rhea:

originally she was going to be shipped with. shudders. fern.

i got the idea to kill her parents in a fire from an idea from a year prior to making her, where the main character's home burnt down mysteriously and a wild absol saved them, forcing them to embark on a journey. i never developed this idea much further so i instead recycled elements from this to make rhea and sara.

that main character's pokemon included every eeveeloution, hence where i got her theme from.

originally rhea was also going to be an empath but i figured i liked her being autistic instead, so i switched it.

yes she is canonically autistic

she's polyam! right now the idea is her to be shipped with victoria and saphira.

her family heirloom is called the obsidian starshard- it is the 5th key to the ruins under reborn. long ago one of her ancestors (i assume a grandparent,) stole the starshard and fled reborn for alola. a small branch of the guardians of the ruins chased after them to retrieve it, but they were always evaded. it eventually led to her mother passing it down to her to keep the organization on their toes when they caught up to her years later.

that eventually ended up leading rhea back to reborn. small world, huh?

rhea constantly squeezes her starshard. it comforts her

she's easily flustered

her name is pronounced ray-a. its technically wrong, but i think it suits her more.

as a kid her nickname was ray-ray. which is. longer than her actual name

her birthday is march 14th

she actually had to battle shade twice, since she was too psyched out to focus the first time around due to seeing corey die again.

rhea and hardy are good friends

she has litchenburg figures from being struck with a thunderbolt. most of the scarring is on her back, but you can see some of it on her arms and collarbone

rhea's trainer class is rising star during maingame. as champion it's protector of reborn

after the events of agate city, rhea almost passes out since it was so soon after she got injured

before the amaria incident, rhea loved swimming

she blames herself for that as well, constantly trying to figure out what she did wrong

her natural hair color is brown

she's considered dying her hair pink

pink is her favorite color

she adopted the eevee from the lost railcave. she named him florence after the captain.

she looks like her mom

they were about 8 when their parents were killed

she likes puns only because her dad was a goofball and never passed up a chance to use puns

névé (her a-ninetales) reminded her of winter when she found her as a vulpix

she thinks about the other trainers that were on the train at the beginning sometimes

they looked up to amaria before the whole underwater thing

speaking of water: she loves swimming and pretty much anything with water.. and yet they still remember what happened and can't bring themself to do anything she'd want to around other people. sometimes when she's alone they still feel this dread that it'll happen again….

i didn't like how victory road had a lot of self aware jokes. it got old very fast for me, so instead of having the others save her at every turn, i have koa do that since its always out of its pokeball

she picked up rock collecting shortly after coming to aevium and since then knows a little about rocks and gems

her favorite rock is granite and her favorite gemstone is sunstone. she also thinks geodes are awesome

in school she played soccer and volleyball

she has an incredibly high spice tolerance

she finally realizes that how she feels abt aelita is not platonic sometime towards the end of chapter 14

instead of arceus she says adrest in common phrases

heavy sleeper. sometimes when someone tries to wake her up it won't work until long after a normal person would give up, but if she's tossing and turning it's a lot easier (which, is like 70% of the game, but details details), and she has a habit of swatting at people that try to wake her up while she's in a deeper sleep. she isn't aware she does that until someone tells her.

i almost named her an A name but i asked one of my friends which one and she chose nia's name

nia originally had gray eyes, but she always had heterochromia

if i could assign a legendary to her, i would choose either virizon, keldeo, or galarian zapdos

nia swears up and down she's killed a fake plant before

her favorite drink is apple juice, but she likes orange soda a ton as well.

she punched a screen in the nightmare school out of frustration and, predictably, cut her knuckles on the glass, but she wouldn't stop picking at the scabs when they were healing so they scarred.

she doesn't like milk. it needs to be flavored or in cereal for her to tolerate it. that's why her favorite cereals are the ones that flavor the milk. besides trix. she'll eat that and only that one dry sometimes

ironically, she's also afraid of heights

she treats her birthday like any other day and doesn't see it as very important, but goes all out for her friends.

instead of cherry like ari hosts usually get, the nickname marianette gave her is tangerine

she looks. really good in orange or yellow, which is a main factor in why they're her favorite colors post valor. before then it was red

'through space and time' is a common theme in rejuv so i went wild with it. valen is a perfect example of this. nia has known him since she was a child

i went back and forth between black and white hair for them for a good second before i settled on white. but i like to think that they've dyed their hair black before

their spice tolerance isnt terrible. they can tolerate a good amount of spice since they're more resistant to pain, but its just not her thing usually

…so due to the nature of absol and that, they aren't as fond of battling as the usual league challenger. ava and scarlet had to convince them to give it a try

they're semi nocturnal- their internal clock is a few hours later than the usual person's so it's harder for them to sleep until it's really late.

as you can tell, sara has a lot more facts. this is mostly because i didn't write down every single idea for nia and rhea like i did for them, and some details may have been lost to time and tumblr void.

as a bonus, here's one more not so serious fun fact: if rhea and sara were in the same game as companions, i think they could work as a ship. it'd be kinda cute.

13: do they consider themselves unique? are they considered unique for their personality, or for their destiny/legacy?

rhea's of the opinion that everyone's unique in some way, but when she looks at herself, she just sees various things she could have done better, or done at all, or even not do in the first place. maybe then she'd be able to actually deal with her issues instead of put them off for 'more important' things. she knows everyone's just trying to help when they refuse to let her work, but she actually feels worse— like she's a failure if she isn't out there doing something all the time.

rue doesn't. they think that they aren't very different than other people. all xe wants to do is fit in and go unnoticed - xe has had enough attention on xem in high school and xe is DONE. she'd be fine with just being a nobody right now. she doesn't want to have to act like everything is fine with her family. it isn't fine. and it likely will never be okay again.

sara's gone their whole life (that they remember anyway,) being told that they are different or unique or something on those lines. and, sure, maybe they have these odd powers and can understand what hasumi is saying and can survive things that could have easily killed your average person. they just don't care for being called special by shiv and whatever voice wants to whisper things in their head- they just want to be able to go to sleep without having to check over their shoulder, question if that shadow just moved, or constantly look out for certain dark figures in their day to day life.

sars is the only one that hasn't had survivor's guilt, and nia technically doesn't have it, but it's very possible that she can develop it

rhea is a literal ball of guilt esp if it's like a solaris reshiram situation. unsure exactly what even pushed reborn mc out of the way on victory road and idk if they ever showed you (...or im forgetting again)

"pix," it chirped dully. it stood there for a while, looking at the distant figure, before slowly picking its way over to trainer and pokemon. with the snow was growing deeper, they noticed how the wild vulpix had to take bigger steps than usual to walk. she frowned, eyes following it as it approached without fear.

"do you want food or something," rhea questioned,

"vulpix!" it had been a shot in the dark, but apparently, they were right. who were they to not help it out? she fumbled through the bag they had, pulling out the ever loved treat. they took a handful and knelt down to allow the vulpix to eat out of her hand, if it wanted to. either it was desperate enough, or just friendly.

a day from years ago arose from the depths of her memory.

a box shook. then rattled again. rhea watched with wide, expectant eyes. then, the top popped open, and a vulpix peeked out! little rhea squealed with delight. they always liked vulpix, even if that meant they had to go alll the way up into the mountains for one. it was white with adorable little blue paws. right there, in her living room! now they didn't need to go so far for one! "awwh! it's so cute! we can play all the time now!" she paused immediately. wait, what if the vulpix didn't want to play all the time? that'd be mean to make it play if it didn't want to! as the new caretaker of this pokemon, she has to think about how it feels, too. "um.. if it wants. do you want to play with me? do you?"

the vulpix jumped out of the box and straight into it's new trainer's arms. "pix! pix!"

"haha! ok! i can show you around too!" without a second thought, rhea dashed away with the vulpix in her arms.

two older people sat on the couch of the same living room their child had so readily abandoned. "well, i think that was a success," one of them sighed, of relief. "i told you she'd love it. she hasn't even touched the rest of her birthday gifts!"

it was one that tugged at her chest. oh, how they missed those days... but, the creature had been fed, and they had a mission to finish with shelly. the poor girl was probably waiting anxiously for them. they stood back up and waved a silent farewell, turning around. i should try and find some shelter.. i don't know how long it'll be before i arrive in ametrine city.

pat.. pat. pat.. pat.

she turned around. there was the vulpix, happily following them.

well, it was a cute one. she smiled. "okay, this is a huge step for us, but do you want to, maybe, come with me?"

"vulp! vulpix!"

i love how literally none of my ocs have last names. besides rhea. i liked her so much i stopped procrastinating and gave her one

the best part about most of rhea's eevees is that they're fakemon so there isnt much lore outside the pokedex entrees. which means i can headcannon so much. like drekeon actually coming in so many different shapes and forms. some may have wings or not. some might have different shaped horns and might have whiskers. rhea's nimbus just happens to be a wingless whiskered dragon
