#oc: theodora

For fun I thought I'd see how much I've written since then for Theomar. Word Count: 137, 277 Not a big jump but I have been writing about other characters and I had some creative slumps this year. But still, nearly 350 pages of Theomar!

Using my lunch break to calculate how many words I've written about Theodora and Ondolemar: 93,610

I'm so close to 100k, my current wip should put me there <3 Though I am pleased that 88,096 have been written since I finished grad school mid-June. Graduate school was holding me back from my true purpose, making my barbies kiss <3

*Found more Theo backstory I never posted while filling my queue, whoops) ANYHOW:

Bridget didn’t exactly go to Highever because of Nelaros – it was a pretty well-travelled route/logical course of action – but it was definitely on her mind since he’d been from there. However, once she arrived, things didn’t go as planned. It’d been one thing when she was a kid travelling with her mom, but now, as a very human-looking adult, she quickly realized she couldn’t just show up to the Highever alienage and expect a warm welcome. Not to mention she was supposed to be hiding–she exactly couldn’t go to Nelaros’ family. But while asking around for work, she found out they needed more servants at the castle, so off she went.

She ended up as the original Theodora Cousland’s maid, and to her surprise, she ended up really enjoying her life there–until the events of the origin. Theodora had been sick recently, and Eleanor had asked her to stay in the castle guest rooms that evening in case Theodora needed something overnight. When Howe’s men showed up, Adaia’s training kicked in, just as it had back in Denerim. And although she joined forces with Eleanor, they were too late to save Theodora.

When she played it over in her mind later, she could never pinpoint exactly how it happened. But Eleanor had pleaded with Duncan to save “us” and when he’d said he needed a recruit, she’d addressed Bridget herself and said something to the effect of “go with him, save yourself, tell Fergus.” There was also the fact that they did look somewhat alike, and both had archery training. But when she and Duncan made it out and he addressed her as “Lady Cousland,” she was too stunned to correct him. And then it only snowballed from there.

Nat has a type because Ava and Theo are just different flavors of the same person only Theo hasn’t had 900 years to learn how to shut down every emotion. She likes dirt track racing

Theo’s practically on solas’ level with all the half truths and navigating around difficult questions. It’s fun picking the dialogue options and specifically avoiding ones about being a cousland. She’s leaning heavily into her identity as a warden because that’s the truest thing about her at this point

The long and short of the Theomar timeline

I played through Broken Circle today, and two things:

It's a weird experience for Theo, because when she was a kid her mom getting caught and sent to the circle was *the worst thing imaginable* so now she's seeing what that actually would have looked like and considering it from Ava's perspective.

And omg I forgot about Cullen, like. Gonna get real dicey when Cassie gets to Kirkwall 😬
