hey what’s up you guys welcome back to my channel— i did this post on my old blog ages ago which is unfortunately lost to time now and i wanted to do it again. so this has gotta be like, the third time some of y’all are seeing this but. fuck it we ball.

born from a post made by @unholymilf a loooong time ago that as more or less a question of if ur oc was a boss fight, what song would be playing and it struck me so here is ALL of my brain worms, including some new ones from the last post!

ANDIE— le soleil est près de moi; air.

POV: you’re bleeding out as andie is standing over you, burning white hot, hotter than the sun setting behind her. she is passionate and… reckless, and will swear this was self-defense. even if she struck first. even if she didn’t blink. even as she watches the life leave your body.

BIANCA— tricycle express; gaspard augé, mr. oizo.

POV: bianca is white knuckling her steering wheel, swiping her car against the side of your own for miles down the freeway. she is gonna run you off the road. she absolutely will; it’s unavoidable, and she’s gonna laugh while she’s doing it. this is the song she’s listening to.

POV: “you will die soon. sooner than you were supposed to, now.” celeste deadpans as she hovers her hand over your forehead and waves. she makes a show of it, though her clairvoyance doesn’t require as much. you wish you had listened to her and thought better of asking in the first place. “it will be violent, and painful. give ares my best. leave my temple.” but you didn’t, and now it’s too late. your fate is sealed.

POV: you’re stiff, hairs on the back of your neck standing up. you’re being watched. this is a different kind of observation than the one you’re used to— the seeds constantly run surveillance on you, but this doesn’t feel as passive. you’re being hunted. and when you dare to turn on your heels to see elvira standing behind you with a crossbow bolt nocked with your name on it, you almost wish jacob was here to kill you instead. somehow, you know it would be more merciful.

OSLO— pennsylvania furnace; lingua ignota.

POV: oslo isn’t the deputy anymore. they’re the judge. eden’s gate is up a member who is worth a million and the resistance mourns a million more.

FAUSTINA— beyond the horizon; olivier deriviere.

POV: faustina is the last line of defense between you and the mother church. she’s a penitent, too, you must understand. the consecrated red ribbons she’s wrapped in are suffocating her the longer she takes to excommunicate you and she will try every prayer at her disposal to stop it—to stop you.

JEN— krack; soulwax.

POV: jen is chasing you through the fib building after she snitches on your whole operation to the iaa. you are an enemy of the state, but more importantly— you’re an enemy to agent jennifer daniels. she wants you dead, and you will be soon enough. especially if it’s up to her. and as of right now, she has you cornered in an interrogation room with nowhere to go and a gun to your head.

LOTTIE— arsonist’s lullabye; hozier.

POV: hawkins is ablaze, and lottie is at the scene of the crime staring into the flames.

LINDY— señor (tales of yankee power); jerry garcia.

POV: there’s barely anyone left to call a gang, and dutch knows as much. but he won’t admit it— that would require him admitting guilt for the losses, too. and he should be so lucky he’s still breathing; lindy wants to empty an entire revolver clip into his thick skull but knows she wouldn’t live long enough to feel the satisfaction. so she does the next best thing, and turns her back. there isn’t anything left for her, anyway. she would risk a lifetime of looking over her shoulder over having to look at him.

MAGS— change (in the house of flies); deftones.

POV: you’re being experimented on in an umbrella sanctioned lab and in walks mags— who you thought was on your side. after all, well fed devils behave better than famished saints. but not this one, she’s much worse.

MILDRED— god unbounded; uboa.

POV: you have just returned from the dead because some weirdo with a god complex and a proficiency in reanimating corpses decided that she needed the practice. and now that’s your problem, because you definitely have come back Wrong. but you’re back! surprise!

NICOLE— heart in a cage; the strokes.

POV: you’re witness to an absolute bloodbath as nicole goes crazy on the field. she’s completely lost herself, she isn’t in control anymore. she was always dangerous but now she’s lethal. she’s already gotten some of her own killed, and somebody needs to take her out before it gets worse. she’s a wild animal. and to her, you’re fresh meat.

SIBYL— summit song; nicole dollanganger.

POV: she drowns you in her scrying pool and you are never heard from again. it’s your own fault, really— anna henrietta told you to leave her be and you didn’t listen.

ROSALIND— goodbye; soap&skin, apparat.

POV: she begs mike for the coordinates of where it happened and he doesn’t budge. he never will. he doesn’t trust her not to take a shovel to the earth and dig him up. so in her state of delirium, she walks through the desert and screams and cries and repents. and becomes her own biggest villain.

ODETTE— graveyard; midnight syndicate.

POV: odette quite literally haunts her family estate, left to fall into disrepair. she’s a grief stricken wraith born of despair who brutally attacks anyone who dares step into her tomb. she’s a master illusionist even in death, so if you choose to fight her instead of just leaving, just make sure you first remove the mirrors from the wall.

so. odette is the girlie that’s mostly occupying my thoughts at this very moment and i have been trying to find inspo for what her house looks like but i can describe it way better so HEHE

long story short she’s an imperial silk spinner and her family has been doing it for. generations so she comes from old old OLDDD money from selling hand-spun silks and fabric and textiles so naturally she has a family manor/mansion, what have you.

but she is also the only living member of her family and has been for. a while :( so she’s let her house fall into just the most uninviting, dusty, ancient house cs she still LIVES there but it’s more akin to a haunted house. she haunts that shit cs she’s also just become this shell of a human being who never leaves like she’s trapped there. etc. typical poltergeist motif yk

but the house itself looks great on the outside but step foot in there at your own risk cs there’s a million spiders and bats in the rafters but it’s still like. in tact? it’s just like an old attic that nobody has stepped foot in for a hundred years except her. the house is like a still life moment in time in the opposite direction cs it’s still NICE. like there’s so many decorations and tapestries and plants that never seem to wither. it’s just dull and there’s no light and it’s fucking DEPRESSING. anyways. she’s my angel my silly rabbit and i love her

but also she has this workshop where she spins her silk and her thread that is just a hot fucking mess. disorganized as all hell like the artist she is but let it be known the rest of her house is fucking immaculately organized. let it also be known that she doesn’t let anyone into her workshop for a long time. it’s her meltdown palace

and also! her bathroom is fuckin’ beautiful cs it’s her safe space and she spends a lot of time in the bath cs it makes her feel like a person when she’s taking care of herself. 🫶🏻

she is pretty calm cool collected. it actually makes some of her friends really mad how unbothered she is with stress management— however. it’s because she is the most grief-stricken person imaginable so she doesn’t process any other emotion.

outworld time works different than earth time and outworlders live forever so— she is 73 years old in outworld which would be roughly like. late 20s, early 30s in earthrealm. she was born in the summer, and i’m unsure if astrology would work here cs time is funky and weird LMAO

she has to be some sort of aquarius/pisces combo if i were to assign her zodiac signs. she is also the death tarot card which has no assignment to her made up zodiac signs sjdnsjjs

💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?

her family for the longest time, was her biggest importance and when they were killed, she genuinely lost the will to live. and slowly, she was given her friends, and the love of her life, and life slowly became worth living again.

silk spinning also means a great deal to her. she was born into the craft, of course, but if she hated doing it she would have stopped. it’s a hobby, it makes her feel needed, it’s her due diligence to her queen, her people, her craft, her family. it’s her whole life.

🌴 PALM TREE — does your oc have a green thumb? do they enjoy gardening?

absolutely the hell not. she likes being around plants and will have some low maintenance ones, but she doesn’t enjoy the idea of gardening.

she HAS used a broken mirror shard as a weapon, and is really effective with a garrote.

—1. what drew your character to their love interest and vice versa?

sam was not immune to andie’s general aura of warmth, because who doesn’t wanna be around the physical manifestation of a ray of sunshine fr? andie is generally comfortable to be around and provided a much needed sense of warmth— a feeling that had evaded sam for so long. and even tho andie would never admit it, his silly charm worked on her so she was more than happy to stick around for his sake.

—12. do they have similar goals? if they clash, how do they deal?

andie doesn’t necessarily care abt the artifacts that they hunt so much as the journey to get there. there is so much history to absorb and she gets lost in it, while sam is more goal-oriented. of course, he’s gonna appreciate the craftsmanship and the history but he isn’t gonna spend so much time basking in it as andie would. sometimes he has to give her a gentle nudge to keep going cs “there’s still so much ground to cover, andie” while she’s just climbing a building to see it all before her as god intended. anyway.

andie will not drink a cup of coffee unless sam makes it for her. he gets the sugar to cream to coffee ratio perfect every single time and he did it once for her, just so she could have a cup and hopefully enjoy it. she didn’t really— she is still much more partial to tea but when she needs a little bit extra caffeine she brews a pot of coffee and sam just. knows to make her a cup.

—9. how open are they with their feelings?

it’s like pulling teeth to get either of these two to openly talk abt any kind of feelings whatsoever. good thing they have literally all of eternity to figure this out cs they will both put it off for as long as possible. most of it isn’t intentional tho, than is goddamn busy with mortals killing each other and celeste is just. thinking abt other things. like weaving the strings of time and evading questions abt the outcome.

quality time. than especially doesn’t have much time to spare so whenever he gets a minute, he’ll hang out with celeste in the house. or she will desire a change of scenery lest she drowns herself in the styx, so she’ll hang out at the balcony with than, overlooking the hoards of souls coming through and making idle chit chat. it’s their favorite part of the day. or—night? whenever.

there are three of those little white butterflies that hover around thanatos hovering around celeste when she’s in the house without him. when he’s in the house, they leave her and presumably just. go wherever the others go, but when he leaves they return to her and just. exist in her orbit. a memento, perhaps.

i do!! i think they compliment each other very well— live fast die young bad girls do it well you know. jk but fr panam is such a ride or die and bianca is fun and fresh and they just. have so much fun. bianca is always doing something new and looking for excitement and panam i think likes to be along for the ride so they’re really just best friends that are in a committed relationship. it works 🫶🏻

bianca lets panam fiddle and tinker with her car when she’s bored. panam has literally tricked the fuck out of bianca’s car just for fun— she installed a neon light kit, a spoiler, put a wrap on it, modified everything under the sun.

—20. did either person change at all, to be with their partner?

their whole thing is “it’s rotten work.” “not to me, not if it’s you.” so it’s a lot of both of them being traumatized and choosing to love each other anyway, which morphs them back into the people they’re supposed to be. you know? the love they have makes them feel like people again so they act like it. so not really a change so much as a.. reverse burial. an exhumation if you will.

odette is an artist at her core so she sketches a LOT. like a lot— i’m talking sketchbooks on sketchbooks. she has a few with dress designs, measurements, ideas, etc but a lot of them also have portraits and quick sketches of her friends, her family.

but she also has one sketchbook that’s just. all sketches of smoke. she pulls it out when she misses him while he’s away in earthrealm. sometimes she adds to it, others she just flips through it and ends up falling asleep with it. she’s a little obsessed with him idk

well. i can’t lie when mk11 came out i was all over the idea of an oc to pair w him and the only thing that stopped me was not having anyone to bounce ideas off of cs i was like “these people covered everything like where do i go from here”

cs now look where we’re at. i have an oc and she’s NOT EVEN FOR HIM. but anyway.

i actually don’t think this would work in EITHER timeline if i’m being honest. although kuai liang sub-zero would work way better, i still don’t think it would work well enough. they’re too like. awkward HAHAHA like there has to be someone who even sort of knows what they’re doing and is willing to do it (figuring out a relationship) and i can’t see either of them being willing to step to it. circling it back to odette as a person— i am subjecting her to a slow burn as fuck which. okay. could work in theory with kuai liang but it like. he would rather die than show romantic feelings i think and odette would be more than happy to take that as a sign to stay reclusive in her weird little haunted mansion. so one of them would literally die before figuring whatever that *gestures* is about. you feel me

4: their favorite physical feature on each other? 

odette loves her man’s shoulders brother SHEESH 🤭 seeing him flex as he stretches his arms and hyper focusing on the musculature. knowing he could hold her entire body weight up there for… untoward activities. you know.

tomas love’s this woman’s legs an unreal amount. she is so tall and allllll of her height is in her legs and he goes crazy over them all the time. he wants them tangled up in his limbs at all times. wrapped around his hips always. you feel me.

5: how do they comfort each other when they’re sad?

tomas runs her a bath. 11/10 guaranteed to make her feel like a person again.

odette’s love language is quality time, so she will literally just sit in silence with him, her head resting on his shoulder, his chest, wherever it fits in the moment and just lets him exist, suspended in time. neither of them have to pretend to be anything but themselves for an evening. it does wonders for their psyche, collectively.

10: do they have pet names for each other?

it’s a lot of “dear” thrown back and forth. but tomas has caught on to odette’s favorite being “sweetheart”, so he throws that one at her once in a while. he uses it sparingly so it doesn’t lose its potency, so when he does use it she FOLDS. he could ask her for the world in that moment and she would prepare to gather it for him.

he only ever says it to her in moments of tenderness tho, just to make the moment even better.

14: is there anything they associate with each other?

tomas is the embodiment of “looks for you everywhere. finds you there.” sentiment. it comes most often in the literal sense of just seeing people existing with their partners and wishing it was him and odette. he just misses his girl cs they are literally realms apart.

odette will light candles just to blow them out so the scent of smoke will assault her sinuses, so she can close her eyes and pretend that tomas is there. she’s a little delusional let her live.

1, 2, 8 for Odette and Smoke - Bestie Ness (I can't sleep)

1. what drew your character to their love interest and vice versa?

aside from the initial mini infatuation they experienced when they locked eyes with each other for the first time (i know. gross.)— odette was reclusive and seeing her in public in sun do was about as rare as seeing a snowball in hell, so smoke thought abt her a lot. wondered if he was ever gonna see her again after the first time. wondered if he would ever get to know what made her that way. wondered if he would ever get to know her, full stop, cs boy did he want to.

it took longer for odette cs she really leaned into her reclusiveness and didn’t care to talk to anyone new. she had her people, though few, and that was enough for her. but it was something abt how genuine smoke seemed to be, from her encounters with him and the lin kuei and even from other people. he was gentle, which wasn’t at all what she was expecting to hear abt him.

2. what was the first moment that they knew they were in love with their love interest? 

smoke mistook whatever it was that compelled him towards odette in the first place for love. he risked his life for her own, and got the shit beat out of him in the process, so yeah. he would think it’s love for a woman he hardly knows as a fresh adult. but he knows for SURE for sure later on when he knows her well and has for a long time. it was the people around them that made him realize it over time, there wasn’t really a specific moment.

for her, it was one of the times that he came to her doorstep, bloody and beaten near death. he could have gone anywhere else, somewhere infinitely more helpful to him than she would have been, but he chose to fall apart in her bathroom over all of the alternatives. it was a particularly bloody night, and she might have thought that he wouldn’t wake up the next morning. but he did. and she knew she was done for when he left and she hoped that he would get beaten up again some time soon so he would come back, cs it seemed that was the only times they saw each other.

8. what are their most prominent memories of each other?

odette remembers clear as crystal that first time smoke came into her home and was literally jumpscared by all the spiders. cs listen. he didn’t just walk through the door like a normal person. they were trying to keep their gestures thing under wraps from everyone so he SNUCK INTO HER HOUSE. and happened to land in the old master bedroom. which was her parents. and subsequently hasn’t been touched since they died. so of course he fell right into a literal spider pit and nearly jumped out of his skin. he had never seen that many spiders in one place. it makes her laugh to this day

smoke, on the other hand—the closet romantic that me and my friends have made him into— remembers so fondly the first wedding dress that odette had crafted for miss venera (belonging to @shellibisshe 🫶🏻) and how proud of it she was. he remembered her spinning the silk for it, sewing it together, cutting the fabric, lacing it, all of it. and the look that odette had when she was holding it up to him, finished, filled him with such mirth for this woman. he will never forget it.

i mentioned this in a different ask but i’ll elaborate a lil bit; i think that rafe would be able to charm his way into her bed 100% but as time goes on she would hate his attitude and his outbursting and take it out on him in some.. creative ways. rating this one a 5/10 because the romance part of a relationship would be lost on him i think. they would just buy each other’s affection and not earn it

raiden would be. unsettled by odette for sure. she’s got this aura abt her that’s just intense but of all of the earthrealmers, i think he would break into her warmth the fastest and most effectively. he would make her feel like a person again just by being himself; caring so much and so hard abt her just even from the jump platonically. cs obviously she is traumatized and he would pick up on it

and she would actually probably have no choice but to fall in l*ve. and would be so happy to do so cs she KNOWS that she is capable and deserving of love. his humbleness and general gentleness might shock her at first tho (uhhh pun not intended) xoxo

now. tomas and tai— man. tomas would tiptoe around this girl like she is made of glass. this might be a slower burn than any of these oc’s canon ships just cs i don’t think that he would have any idea how to get somewhere with her like, romantically. he barely has any idea how to do it period. and SHE is certainly not helpful cs she’s not having any idea that anyone would be interested in her ever. it’s just a series of missed signals. it’s making me laugh tho cs she would FINALLY be like “are u flirting w me” after fighting with herself abt it and being like ‘no way.’ and he would be like “i think i have been for a long time, thanks for noticing” and she is so obsessed with how successfully she picked up on social cues this one time that she would forget that he just said that he has been flirting with her for so long

claps hands together OKAY. so for talent, her whole bag is the art of silk spinning and therefore— tailoring. passed down through her family for generations. every first daughter was taught by her mother and her mother before her.

as far as i know, the way that magic in outworld works (allegedly. nrs retcons their shit all the time so i’m taking this and running with it) is that there is literally just. “special outworld magic” that exists and it puts its claws into everyone in outworld.

so long story short, odette is a master of illusion and the BEST way i can describe how this works is how in blasphemous 2, you can strike mirrors with a rapier and teleport through them through illusory magic. except she doesn’t have to swing on mirrors to travel through them she just be stepping into them.
