OKKOTOBER 2022 - P.O.I.N.T.

EL-BOW IS DEFINITELY TO BLAME

The prompt "P.O.I.N.T." really got me thinking more about this team of superheroes, their themes, and their story. Foxtail describes the pointer finger as the strongest finger. Well, it's also the most accusatory finger, huh?

For this piece, I really wanted to play around with a mugshot/police lineup look. So the newspaper El-Bow is holding and the lines of text in the background are both utilized with that intention. Hopefully I pulled off what I was going for!

carol - 10/10 took it like a champ honestly, even after being forced to give up her dream career, move away and raise a kid as a single mother, she seems to be doing pretty great, love you, ultimate MILF, i want her to cook me spaghetti

mr gar - 9/10 probably didnt know laserblast as anything but a coworker, but was still saddled with an insane amount of guilt being blamed for his "death" and did everything he could to atone for it. ended up doing so many good deeds he attracted the attention of the PRESIDENT of the UNIVERSE. 1 point docked because of the self hatred complex he developed

rippy roo - 6/10 embodiment of denial. quit her job to dedicate years and years to figuring out a way to bring her (most likely deceased) coworker back. respect the hustle and she got cute glasses in the process

foxtail - 4/10 went a little crazy. started doubling down on finding ways to create more powerful heroes to make sure that nothing like what happened to laserblast ever happens again. takes it too far more than once. heroes being more powerful isnt always a good thing. glad she learned her lesson though

While working at gars bodega, Mr gar tells Bart of a retired hero who mentored his dad and aunt named max Mercury who becomes his mentor/father figure.

Barts cousin jenni ognats/xs is a student at point academy. His mom works for the power card company as part of the board of executive and his friend carol bucklin is an intern at the place. It’s revealed that barts grandfather is working with shadowy figure and caused the incident that murdered the tornado twins because he hated that his daughter was dating don so he arranged that bomb so they would sacrificed themselves he wasn’t trying to kill dawn but he was happy with it so she wouldn’t be alive to investigate him. He also created inertia barts clone who at the end of season 3 turns good.

I have an idea for a crossover impulse/ko

In this story Bart Allen is 14 years old and has just gotten a job at gars hero supplies where he is training to be a hero, he and his mom Melodie Allen have moved right next door to ko and carol. Bart Allen’s dad was part of point 3 years before gar, carol, and rippy roo joined he and his aunt Dawn were known as the tornado twins who died before Bart was born sacrificing both of there lives to stop a bomb that would have killed 900,000 people.

New thing I noticed during my rebinge!

Rippy Roo and Laserblast were close friends and during her induction to POINT he hugs her and says “we’ll always be together!”

This makes the revelation that Rippy Roo left POINT to study interdimensional space travel to find Laserblast a whole lot sadder

And the fact that he never actually made up with any members of POINT, including her, devastating (at least he didn’t on screen. Who knows? Maybe he did off screen)
