1.) Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3

Honestly is anyone surprised? I’m not saying this list is in order, but I love his character so much. The balance of feminine and masculine, the trauma without it being his only personality trait, the nuance is just superb writing (and acting) that I’ve never seen in media before.

Plus BG3 has got me back on tumblr, drawing for pleasure again, and I’ve made a bunch of wonderful friends - so I have a lot to thank the pasty elf for.

2.) Renee Walker from 24

Okay so this is a super niche one but Renee Walker got me through some of my darkest teenage years. Whilst I don’t agree with everything in 24, I love her character (another complex character with trauma), I love Annie Wersching (Gods rest her soul), and this character is the first I think of when someone says ‘favourites’.

3.) Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars

I know the point of this post is characters I love, but omg do I love Ahsoka! Her development is some top tier writing, and she’s the first strong female lead I ever remember recognising in Star Wars.

4.) Dr James Wilson from House MD

I relate to Wilson more than I should. He cares so much it gets him hurt, he’s the eternal optimist, and, he sees the good in people even when it’s not there. He’s also self sacrificing, relentless, and occasionally, a complete dumbass. (I’m also in love with Robert Sean Leonard so that definitely helps).

5.) Chin Ho Kelly from Hawaii Five O

I don’t have much to say about this one. He’s cool. He rides a motorcycle and has a shotgun. Daniel Dae Kim is gorgeous. Chin Ho is just a cool guy. (He’s also complex but I fear I am starting to sound like a broken record).

6.) Amy Santiago from Brooklyn Nine Nine

This is another case of James Wilson. I have changed a lot since then but mannn if I wasn’t an Amy in University! (Wanted to be a Rosa, was absolutely an Amy) Honestly though, it was nice to see a Type A, more than likely neurodivergent, but still strong and respected female lead. She is rarely the butt of the joke and I appreciate that about B99.

7.) Anna from Frozen

I know this makes me look like a Disney Adult but it’s so nice to see a kind, emotionally available, independent woman, in a loving and equal relationship, in popular media. She also deals with heavy grief in a way that both hurts and heals me.

8.) Ice Bear from We Bare Bears

I love this show. It is my background comfort show and Ice Bear is just the best. Nothing more to it than that.

9.) Sara Lance from Arrow

Okay so I ran a Thea Queen fan account when I was a teen, but Sara Lance was the first queer woman I ever saw on TV and it changed my life. I told my friends about my girlfriend (at the time) because of her. She made me feel seen when there was very little queer pop culture rep.

10.) Leonard Snart from The Flash

Ending in a cyclical manner - with a white haired, morally grey, traumatised, soft-for-the-right-person, queer thief. I am a woman of simple, and apparently identical tastes.

favorite color: YELLOW, though orange is a close second. I used to hate orange (and was a strong pink person) but yellow & orange are just such good colors, and I love them so much.

Currently watching: oh god, so much hockey. it’s almost a problem, ESPN+ is my most used streaming app rn. But, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is up there like the tv show I’ve watched most recently. And then obvi I wanna rewatch Bridgerton/Queen Charlotte before season 3 in May!

Spicy/savory/sweet: okay, savory/salty all the way! Sometimes I get in a sweets mood (like around that special time and I eat like 4 roasted almond chocolate bars) but mainly I will always prefer something savory or salty. Especially if it’s a non-dessert food, I can’t stand when people put sugar in dishes that don’t need to be sweet, i.e spaghetti

Relationship Status: god, so single (tinder is the bane of my existence but also i use it a ton)

Current obsession: definitely hockey, but otherwise probably katee robert & her series’s (Neon Gods & the Wicked Villains series are top tier, and just the perfect dark romance series, I love them both)

JOANLOCK. where the fuck do i even begin. joan watson alone is like. top tier, god tier, i love you mother thank you for raising me. and their relationship is like fucking. perfect. i don’t give a shit about the writing of the show past s1!!!! i don’t care!!!! they are perfect beyond all the shitty writing!!!!! they are beautiful!!!!!! they are perfection!!!!! the fucking softness of everything. the domesticity. how they live together and just like. SOFT. 

when i tell you when i first watched season 1 i was fucking blown away like i was crying i was screaming like HE NAMED??? A BEE??????????? AFTER? HER????????? top that. robert doherty has written many shitty storylines, but he sure as hell KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK WITH THIS MOMENT. the roof of the brownstone, the bee watching, the bee naming, start anew playing in the background. quite literally. perfection. 

the way that they fucking saved each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she saved his life!!!!!!!!! YOU SAVED MY LIFE JOAN. NOBODY COULD SEE IT BUT YOU!!!!!!!! and how he introduced her to a world that she probably never thought in a million yearssssss that she’d be in. and she’s GOOD at it. and SHE’S HAPPY!!! LIKE SHE DESERVES!!!!! (I’M EMO ABOUT THERE WAS A SPARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I’M OKAY. fuck. and then and then and then the actual hugs we get that joan initiates........ remember when we died 4.01. anyways. my fave one is def the one when sherlock comes home from vermont and like just WELCOMES IT like... he’s like yes i’ve been gone for a while hello watson i am ready to welcome a hug. i’m. emo. 

AND THEN THE FUCKING ACTUAL GRAND FINALE (THEIR LAST BOW AKA MY ACTUAL DEATH) this scene personally is like the most painful and tear jerking scene of all time like. i couldn’t even imagine how it was to film for jlm and lucy bc it was like 7 years of friendship!!!!! 7 years of this....... and it was also like a hug goodbye to each other :( :( :( you could honestly feel it like FUCK. and how HER VOICE BREAKS AND HOW HE’S LIKE WHY WOULD YOU NOT TELL ME AND HE’S LIKE I’M STAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how he’d drop everything for her. and the HUG. and how joan’s like i don’t need this i’m okay i don’t need you to be here and then her breaking down and accepting his hug and crying and they’re just both crYING AND THEY’RE BOTH JUST HOLDING EACH OTHER AND WHEN SHE PUT HER HEAD ON HIS SHOULDER LIKE GENUINELY I’M JUST AN ACTUAL MESS ABOUT IT I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT BUT ALSO I MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH MY PARENTS.

I had a similar ask to this a few weeks ago,so this time I'm gonna pick some more 'serious' moments and go a bit more into why I love them. Of course this is all my own opinion and I am pretty clueless so sorry if I mention something not that underrated.

Okay once again KATIE'S FUNERAL! THE WHOLE EP! and tbh like the whole aftermath. Affair era (plus the rest of 2015) is my favourite for so many reasons but mainly the depth and the angst,so for me it'll always be underappreciated. That being said as a whole the affair era is talked about,but I feel like sometimes some of the Katie stuff gets glossed over? Like obviously Rob manslaughtering her is often mentioned,but the actual scenes themselves don't get talked about as much. Like Katie's funeral was not only a cinema masterpiece (imo) but it gave us such amazing angst. Like Robert this isn't a love story Sugden calling out Aaron's name all panicked and desperate because he can't see him at the quarry. He literally looses all care about Andy the moment he thinks Aaron is in danger. They've been having an affair for like two months at this point, Robert is still massively in the closet and acting like him and Aaron are nothing yet he breaks when they're at the ledge,because he knows Aaron's past,and he knows Aaron is feeling guilty and deep down subconsciously he loves him! He loves him and he's terrified of what it means,yet in this moment,so early on he breaks because Aaron isn't there anymore and fuck Andy it's all about Aaron. He sounded more scared there then he did about his brother like helloo!?? God tier angst I love it

Okay next is Roberts second I love you,on the stairs. With the first one, although he definitely meant it he wasn't ready to say it and only did it to stop Aaron from doing anything. That second one though damn! The affection,the soft voice it's just screams love. Him asking Aaron to say it back because he wasn't ready before and now he wants to hear it,longs for it ,please I'm weak

Aaron saying Robert is definitely for him before wedding 1.0. He went from being a scared kid who hated being gay to 'oh yeah I love my fiancé so much and you might not but but I do,he's the one for me, we're soulmates!' Powerful.
