Trolls Art Dump!!!! 🌈
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ever since I rewatched the trolls trilogy, I realized, that despite it being far from perfect, and having flaws.... It doesn't deserve even half of the hate it receives!!!!!! And wait IT'S ACTUALLY REALLY FUCKING GOOD IN SOME PARTS?!?!?! AND HAS SOME PRETTY GOOD AND CONSISTENT CHARACTER WRITING???
*ssiiiighhhhh* okay trolls fandom, some of you guys have been here since the first movie, and you stuck with it, despite all the struggles you knew would come with it. And for that, I respect you, heck, I admire you.
I am LATE. VERY LATE. TO THE PARTY.
I wish I had given this franchise a fair shot, instead of just believing some random youtuber reviewer that these movies weren't worth my time.
I feel like I have disrespected art itself. My entire thing is not judging a book by its cover!!!! With people!!! With art!!!! Whatever it is I always have to care more, and put in the effort to truly understand something but here I am!!!!!
Well now that's over! Aaaaand I'm being eaten up by trolls and I'm happily surrendering myself to it....
Thanks for listening to some random kid pour her heart out on Tumblr over DreamWorks trolls
Bye

Thanks for the tag, @onewingedsparrow! I’m posting this separately since I am going to shamelessly turn this into a long music rec post that’s specific to the TF fandom and to me.
Rules: Share 10 songs you like and tag 10 people
Note: All the links are for YouTube.
Tales of Neverland by J.T. Peterson
Sparrow, this one’s for you. It’s one of the songs that makes me think of you. :)
A True Master by Yi Nantiro
I’ll be putting this lovely instrumental in my playlist for Wing (IDW).
We Used To Talk For Hours by Soulero
A personal favorite that’s currently sitting in my unfinished IDW/MTMTE Rewind playlist.
A Tale of Sea Dragons by Marcus Warner
This instrumental takes me places. Beautiful places.
Oklo by Alpine Universe
This one makes me think of IDW Ravage (and my TFP AU Ravage). If I ever drew him, this is the song I’d play in the background.
What A Wonderful World by 2WEI, Ali Christenhusz, & Edda Hayes
Some may tire of me saying this, but irony is like catnip for me. I think of EarthSpark Tarantulas every time I hear this dark version of the song.
Nobody Knows by The Lumineers
One of only three songs I’ve found so far that makes me think of Ratchet from IDW, specifically in MTMTE #40.
Firefly by Lindsey Stirling
I wasn’t even a third of the way through Rescue Bots Academy Season 1 before I remembered this song and went, “This is so Whirl.” Too bad it’s not on Spotify.
Places I’ll Go by Blonde Maze & Half an Orange
Just a personal favorite I’ve been enjoying recently.
The Game Has Changed by Daft Punk
I watched TRON: Legacy for the first time last week. The visuals and the music are impeccable. I’m not a huge Daft Punk fan, but I love what they did for the film soundtrack. This particular song is the newest addition to my TFP Soundwave playlist. With a color change of two, he’d fit right in if he were dropped into the cyberworld of Tron.
Tagging @karlyanalora and @sphnyspinspin since I think you two in particular will find at least one song here to be of interest. ;)
Now for the other 8: @jl1970 @benadrylcandlewhack @transformersloversworld @stillbelievinginfireflies @acruxwave @starscreamboyfriend @dramamelon @ratch-gadget
There’s no need to go into as much detail as I did. I just can’t resist an opportunity to share the ‘why’ behind songs I find and love. ♡

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in America has been crucial in shaping the future of nuclear energy technology ever since its inception. With all that experimenting and development, the lab has generated several tons of toxic uranium waste that can longer be efficiently used. The problem is, nobody knows where to bury this gigantic amount of waste and it is currently being piled up in temporary storage facilities – but we know nothing good comes out of bottling up toxic waste (or emotions). There has to be a better alternative than having our homes and schools being built on a sea of uranium waste.
The scientists at INL are working on ways to use the spent uranium and one of them is recycling it for the fuel needs of new smaller commercial reactors. INL reached out to Oklo, a nuclear energy start-up, to explore this opportunity using their Aurora reactor – a revolutionary clean energy plant the company made to power communities with affordable, reliable, clean power. The advanced fission plant has many advantages apart from its ability to produce clean power for lifetimes despite its small size, it can go decades without being refueled and the design allows it to be underground which means it can operate without cooling water. The Aurora will be converting nuclear waste to clean energy while posting as a cabin in the woods that generates 1.5 megawatts. “The cool thing about advanced reactors is you can go to those higher levels of enrichment and make things smaller, which helps drive the economics of the system,” says Jacob DeWitte, CEO and co-founder of Oklo, about using ‘Haleu’ (high-assay, low-enriched uranium) as their choice of fuel.
Aurora powerhouse is also designed to be the focal point for community interaction while keeping practicality in mind. The sloped modular roof works for most weather conditions and also serves as a support for solar photovoltaic panels. In turn, the solar panels also serve as a canvas for local art and the front of the Aurora can be used by the people as a community spot. “We are excited to think about how fission could both enable human development while preserving the environment on earth, and even enable deeper space exploration,” said Caroline Cochran, COO, and co-founder of Oklo. when talking about Aurora’s well-rounded presence in the low-carbon microgrid and we couldn’t agree more! Idaho will be home to this beautiful cabin-in-the-woods shaped clean reactor and also the giant potato-shaped Airbnb, we don’t know how that happened but it is a lovely juxtaposition.

Is Nuclear Power Pro-Development? Six Reasons Why DFC Should Lift Its Ban

Is Nuclear Power Pro-Development? Six Reasons Why DFC Should Lift Its Ban
The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is considering a change to its current ban on financing projects with a nuclear reactor, a relic holdover policy from its predecessor agency OPIC. At first glance, some may worry that nuclear power isn’t relevant for emerging markets and wouldn’t align with DFC’s primary mandate to promote positive development outcomes. In reality, lifting the prohibition would be a proactive response to a fast-evolving technology, burgeoning demand for clean energy, and a competitive global marketplace. Removing the outdated ban would be good for the United States, good for Africa and other energy-hungry regions, and good for the planet. Here are six reasons why:
1. The next generation of smaller, safer nuclear power is here.
Forget about the huge 1,000 MW custom-built power plants of the past. The new nuclear power models will be far smaller, factory-fabricated, and deploy new technologies that make these reactors “walk-away safe” (e.g., they use passive features like gravity to move coolant rather than rely on pumps). In the United States, we’re already modernizing our licensing and regulatory systems to respond to these new technologies for our domestic market. For instance, California-based microreactor developer Oklo is the first company to apply for a license under the new system. Oregon-based NuScale is likely to break ground on its first-of-a-kind modular system before 2023. And this list will grow; DC think tank Third Way has mapped more than 50 different private sector advanced nuclear projects across the US.
2. Advanced nuclear designs are especially suitable for frontier and emerging markets.
Small modular reactors (SMRs), microreactors, and other passively-safe designs will be far more flexible and thus useful in a range of environments. Oklo’s first model is just 1.5 megawatts (MW) —similar in power output to a wind turbine —and is aiming to replace diesel generators in remote communities in places like Alaska and Canada. It is easy to imagine similar uses for island communities in countries like Indonesia and Thailand. NuScale’s SMRs will be built in 60 MW modules that can be sold solo or linked up in 6- or 12-packs, depending on demand. These new approaches enable their use in a broader variety of markets compared with past nuclear (district heating, industrial process heat, desalination) making them ideal for off-grid, small-scale industry in emerging economies.
3. A diverse range of countries are already shopping for nuclear.
Advanced nuclear energy is not only for rich countries. Current nuclear powers which are ready to adopt this technology today include India, South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil. Even for those countries planning for nuclear power in 2030 or beyond, now is not too early to start exploring options. Jordan, Ghana, Kenya, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey and another 20+ countries are nearly ready or will be soon.
4. Scalable energy systems are wholly aligned with DFC’s mission.
The DFC was built to partner with the private sector to solve the most critical development challenges. Financing reliable power at scale is a big part of delivering on that lofty goal, with demand for electricity in Africa projected to more than double by 2040. Worries that nuclear power projects might overwhelm the DFC budget or take away funding for other sectors are unfounded. The agency has plenty of financial headroom and strict single project limits. DFC participation would help to de-risk projects and crowd-in capital, but its actual funding would likely be modest and in partnership with ExIm Bank, DOE, and other public and private actors.
5. Retaining the outdated ban would only succeed in pushing countries toward Russian models.
There are commercial and national security reasons to lift the prohibition as well. The Russian state-owned Rosatum is already aggressively marketing their SMRs across Africa and other regions. Russian deals come with multi-decade fuel lock-ins (and who knows what else) which would create significant leverage over US allies, in the same way natural gas does today. Instead, by using our development finance tools, we can provide competitive options for countries that choose a nuclear power future.
6. Nuclear is a stable source of zero-carbon power.
All countries need affordable, reliable power at scale for industry, commerce, and big cities. Climate change will only increase demand for energy-intensive industries, like cement, steel, industrial air conditioning, and desalination. Scalable, low-carbon power is required to meet the parallel goals of expanding modern energy access in emerging economies while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions. So, no, no one is planning to build a conventional large-scale nuclear power plant in Nigeria. And no, this won’t swamp a young agency or detract from its core mission. Advanced nuclear is an exciting and potentially game-changing technology that can help to meet development, environmental, and US national security goals. DFC getting into nuclear power would help to foster an innovative global market for this promising new technology —and an important step toward solving the dual challenge of mitigating climate change while providing the energy needed for prosperity for all. Help me, my dear friend!
Sooooooo
Because these two have literally been occupying my mind the moment I found out about simonne's existence, I decided to draw them!!!!!!! As one does.
These two together, specifically Simonne, ARE SO UNDERAPPRECIATED
AGHJJHH I WISH WE KNEW MORE ABOUT HER AND MARAT'S LIFE TOGETHER
Well. We know quite a handful of information about them but IT'S NOT ENOUGH FOR ME
Whyyyyyy aren't there more people talking about simonne. She is so awesome. She's extremely politically active, attending the cordeliers club even after marat died, literally funding the publication of his newspapers that would change the hypothetical political tides of France during the revolution and cause big changes for the better, HER DEDICATION TO MARAT IN GENERAL, TO THE POINT OF PROTECTING MARAT'S LIFE FROM LAFAYETTE'S AGENTS MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF TIME THEY KNEW EACH OTHER, because she truly saw something in him that most people, even to this day, don't see. They understood each other, and not a lot of people can say they understand marat. How she stood by him, even when his chronic illness got worse, and more people were out to get him, their entire relationship is just..... It's just so special to me.
I kind of hate myself more and more by the day because of my chronic illness, aaaand I feel like I'm not worth any dedication from anyone. Because. I feel like i'm just too much to deal with. Too much to take care of. My back pains, constant low energy, and just!!!!!! Never as good as I could be!!!! Aaaahhhh!!!!!! Hahahaha
But the existence of these two. Like. It might sound silly but I feel hopeful knowing they existed. That despite everything horrible that was sent towards marat, despite his illness becoming worse and worse... He was going to be okay at the end, because he had simonne, who was never going to give up on him!!!! Because he was worth the hard work!!!!! And she loved him!!!!!! And he loved her!!!!!! And I won't ever allow anyone to forget them!!!!!! You hear me?!??? Now who wants to be my simonne?!?!!!!?!
