been thinking abt my fmab hunger games au all day and its so convoluted lmao

So there's three timelines we gotta explain right away

First timeline:

Riza Hawkeye won a la guns (in this au u get weapons and can use alchemy) thus became the victor for her district (like the equivalent of district 12 but i cant be bothered to have 24 ppl in a cast therefore we splitting this as arakawa intended- east district)

Second timeline:

Edward Elric was reaped. Al could not volunteer because he knew that if the capitol (aka central) ppl find out about his body theyd not only punish him but theyd probably also kill ed for comitting the taboo

Now!

It's WINRY who volunteers for some random girl because she is eds mechanic!! And he can't survive out there without her!! She is doing this for you Ed!

Riza is their haymitch. Roy Mustang, exists in this au but I'm torn between two routes for him

He's like a Gale character for Riza but the reason why he didn't volunteer to be alongside Riza for her HG was because he was too old by that point. Riza was like 18 when she got reaped.

Roy Mustang is a capitol boy who is the main schmoozing bitch that gets riza all her sponsors because that woman has 0 rizz. Effie but a man whore.

Ed and Winry win much alike Katniss and Peeta do in the first HG. I don't care for this. My fic would start with the 2nd quarter quell when all of the previous winners gotta fight.

Third timeline:

Winry gets chosen for the 75th HG. Riza steps up for her. They know she won't be this lucky again how she was last time.

Ed is the only East District male tribute.

Reason why riza stepped up is because these hunger games are going to be a bloodbath.

Olivier and Alex Armstrong will he competing. And they're careerists. (See this is where it gets kinda weird how to plan because if I have Central be capitol then that means we can't have Armstrong in this but which district would I put them in if I can't have this- lmao Olivier and Miles as North District tributes maybe - Miles may have volunteered for Alex because Alex came out of his HG completely traumatised (much alike in ishval))

Comanche and Izumi from the south district (also careerists or just built like that lmao)

And that just leaves us with the West District

Ishval is its own district let's say and we get Scar (volunteered for his brother in his first games and now is the only male tribute from the Victors)

I guess an OC there aren't a lot of female characters to choose from.

Anyway I love my pandemonium *kicks legs* it'd be so fucked up especially because I have ideas how to nerf the alchemists to make them more equal with the regulars when they're running for that cornucopia.

The second collaboration between the TV anime series "Fullmetal Alchemist" and the popular mobile game "Monster Strike" (called "MoNSt" for short) is currently ongoing, starting from February 12, 2023. Characters such as "Van Hohenheim," "Olivier Mira Armstrong," "Riza Hawkeye & Roy Mustang" have made their first appearance in the limited-time gacha.

"Fullmetal Alchemist" is a dark fantasy series based on a manga by Hiromu Arakawa, which was serialized in "Monthly Shonen Gangan" from 2001. It won the 49th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2004. The series follows the Elric brothers, who lost everything in their attempt to revive their dead mother through the forbidden practice of human transmutation, as they embark on a journey to retrieve what they have lost.

The anime adaptation aired from April 2009 to July 2010. The second collaboration in "Monster Strike" features the return of the characters from the first collaboration, including the Elric brothers, Roy Mustang, and Ling Yao, with new abilities such as beastification. Additionally, Van Hohenheim, Olivier Mira Armstrong, Riza Hawkeye & Roy Mustang, Maes Hughes, and Izumi Curtis are making their first appearance in the limited-time gacha.

Players who purchase the "Collaboration Starter Pack" can obtain "Edward Elric & Winry Rockbell." "May Chang," "Jean Havoc," and "Fu & Lan Fan" are also obtainable through logins and mission completions.

Quests will also feature the appearances of "Pride," "Sloth," and "Solf J. Kimbley." favorite season / least favorite season: I make a single answer for these two questions. Honestly I am more fond of the first season, despite the differences from the original manga. There are anyway certain elements I don’t like from the first season, and then I prefer the manga/ Brotherhood (for example for the ending of the story and the Homunculus’ version).

olivier sighs. the dream of taking a bath with izumi is one she’s held for a long time. when she’d been sick, olivier had washed her many times, but always from outside the bath, always clothed. and generally she’d preferred it that way. but sometimes it had taken all of her self-restraint not to just hop in.

two things have always stopped her. the first was a terrifying set of early briggs memories. being one of the few girls and the only out trans person, any kind of personal hygenine was a deeply private matter, no matter how much bonding her fellow greens seemed to get from showering all at the same time. the second was just…connected to her stoneness. that if she shared a bath with a partner, maybe… well. she looks at her fiancée. “perhaps… i would need to keep a pair of swim trunks on.”

izumi doesn’t laugh. she doesn’t even, to her credit, look the slightest bit amused. “did you bring a pair?”

olivier nods. izumi keeps saying they’re going to take a day trip out to the lake on one of these visits, but they’ve never done it. she brings swim attire anyway though, just in case.

“well!” izumi says, and that settles that.

izumi strips before olivier can even offer to help her with her clothes, and she doesn’t hide the fact that she’s brazenly watching olivier, either. that’s fine, she’s allowed to do that. they are engaged, after all. but olivier’s still flattered.

izumi parades down the hall, but olivier throws a towel around herself first, walking behind and shaking her head with a smile. both sig and alex are at alex’s tonight, so they have the place to themselves. it’s nice, and it makes her feel a bit safer about trying something new.

the tub is already full when olivier follows her into the bathroom. she’s not sure if izumi filled it ahead of time or pulled the world’s fastest alchemical trick in the few seconds before olivier walked in, but either way, it’s full, it’s soapy, and when she dips her fingers in, it’s warm.

the curtises have an absolutely massive tub. they get in together, slowly, negotiating space until olivier has her back against the wall of the tub, and izumi is facing her, looking like she wants to turn around.

olivier beckons her over, and she does turn, scooting so her back is pressed against olivier’s chest and she can stretch her legs forward a little.

and then olivier melts.

it’s the heat, it’s izumi, it’s the contact, it’s the trust, and all of a sudden she’s just. the happiest she’s been since izumi proposed to her, really.

she sighs, and presses a kiss into the side of izumi’s neck.

izumi hums. her hands search for olivier’s in the water and olivier grants them to her.

“you know,” izumi says, “i wore my bathing suit for seven months after.”

she doesn’t have to say after what. she never does.

olivier doesn’t answer, she just squeezes her hand.

“it took a long time to heal.”

olivier can only imagine what the massive scar running across her abdomen must have looked like originally, and how looking at it must have been a reminder of everything that had happened, everything she had done.

“and then i didn’t want to see it, even after it had…”

olivier knows that izumi hates talking about it. about anything to do with it. she’s doing it for her, to explain why she didn’t blink when olivier asked to be clothed. she doesn’t have to do that, but as she does, the warmth in olivier’s heart spills over. she pulls izumi even closer to her chest and kisses her shoulders, her neck, anywhere she can reach.

olivier has no proof but she knows izumi’s smiling.

“this is just to say i—“ she gasps a little at a particularly well placed kiss. “understand.”

olivier hums in acknowledgment, kisses her one more time, and then leans back, letting izumi lean back further against her. “thank you.”

fma rareship weekend: day 3, children

written for @fma-rareships's day 3! while intended to be an extension of the recognition 'verse, and therefore olivier x izumi, this one is also for sure olivier & al, and of course, al x mei!

“yeah,” al says into the phone, “no, all of the grandparents are here. yes, including olivier, she’s been here for three days. ostensibly, she’s here mostly to keep teacher from crying again, but personally, i think she might actually—oh, no, she heard me.” al covers the microphone with their hand and looks up at one of their newborn daughter’s many grandparents, who is valiantly trying to pretend she’s not tearing up.

“general,” al says, because even they have her permission to use her name now, sometimes it’s hard not to fall back on old habits, “did you think you weren’t—”

“i don’t like children,” she says, wiping her eye with the back of her knuckle.

this is amusing to al, given that yesterday, when she’d been holding zhiying for two uninterrupted hours, she’d audibly growled at anyone who tried to take her. so, they elect to ignore her statement for both their sakes. “you are her g—both mei and i consider you to be one of her grandparents. if… you want to be, that is.”

“alphonse,” olivier says, still pretending like she’s getting out of this, “i am your teacher’s wife.”

unafraid to interrupt her, al says, “are you going to tell me izumi and sig are anything other than…?” it’s a strong tactic. of course, al would rather tell her how much they love her. how she’s been a mentor to them in the last few years, how she inspires them, pushes them, and how they can’t imagine their daughter’s life without her in it. but that’s the kind of thing al knows they have to write in a letter, so she can cry about it in private and stoically thank them later.

olivier narrows her eyes. “of course not.”

“and?”

after staring at them for a while longer, olivier sighs. “no child of yours, no matter how cute, is going to ever call me ��grandma.’”

al raises an eyebrow.

“but. it would be my honor to accept that role in zhiying’s life.” she pauses, and something like a smile tugs at the corners of her lips. “thank you for asking.”

al is almost positive she's going to cry about this later.
