Wicky's cousin dies and he ends up taking in her 2 year old daughter his senior year.

Somehow through sheer determination and Bitty's help, they manage to get the Haus cleared by the social worker, and the attic already looks hella nice bc he and Ollie made it nicer than Holster and Ransom had it.

He and Ollie may have also eloped to get custody but it was worth it, they were marrying anyways after graduating so they can just do the party then.

His cousin's kid is so small and upset and Wicky starts panicking that he's not going to be good enough oh God why did she leave her little girl with him oh God she's going to be taken away-

Shitty puts on his pre law lawyer hat and manages to get his teacher to ensure they never lose custody.

Ollie calms him down.

And then she's dropped off, and Wicky starts crying when the little girl, who is so upset and scared, screams in delight at seeing him and runs to him, slamming into his legs and squeezing, and Wicky hugs her, peppering her face in kisses, and says shes gotten so big since he saw her last! (A month ago, at the funeral)

"She's adorable." Tango says later, when the social worker left, and the team arrives to meet their new littlest member of the team.

"what's her name?" Louis asks, eyes wide. He is a single child of 2 single children - he's never been around small kids before.

"Abigail Prudence Wicks." Wicky says, and he doesn't mention that his deadname is exactly that, that his cousin yoinked his deadname to give to her daughter, which had delighted Wicky, because now that name wasn't associated with him, but Abby.

"Pay-ter!" Abby laughed, and Wicky grins at her attempt at his name.

"Say hi Ollie!" He held her towards Ollie, and Abby laughs again.

"Aw-wee!"

Ollie melts immediately.

So does the rest of the team.

thoughts on the webtoon rerelease and what it means for the fandom and author interactivity?

So I have to tell you, and maybe this is because I am turning 98 on my next birthday (July, mark your calendar), I don't understand what Webtoon does other than just be like, a fifth venue where this comic is available to read (after the Tumblr, the dedicated OMGCP website, the Kickstarter books, and the First Second ones)?

Here are two ideas I have:

Idea 1: Because Webstoon is actually built to host webcomics, it looks and functions for this specific webcomic much better than anywhere else it's already hosted? Tumblr is the platform it was made for but it also wasn't built for serialized storyteling and archiving, that website is ass and has never worked, and the comic wasn't made for the static medium of the graphic novel so there are some ways it's never translated. And, again, not to be in my 120s, but I was engaging with webcomics in the early-mid 2000s when platforms like Keenspot facilitated webcomics consumption. Webtoon is more similar to that platform than anywhere else you can read Check Please. Maybe it's even more ideal.

Idea 2: It seems like Ngozi has, over the past couple of years, intermittently tried to generate new interest in the comic. She has posted a few times about wanting a TV show. She has posted on her Discord about having new ideas for OMGCP stories and/or projects. I can think of two (not mutally exclusive) things she might be getting out of putting OMGCP on a new platform. One, she may miss the story/characters and, after three or four years away from the project, enjoy getting to think about and see people dicussing her OCs again. Two, if she does intend to do more with the comic, either by expanding the canon or adapting it (or having someone else do it), showing that it's getting engagement on a new, seemingly more relevant platform in 2024 might help her demonstrate that there is a current audience for it. And actually, I wonder if being able to say that it was popular when it was the most-funded webcomic Kickstarter in 2016 and is successful on this other site in 2025 might make the case that the comic is evergreen in its popularity and will always find an audience so it should be made into a show that can be sold multiple times to various streaming platforms over its lifespan -- or, you know, some shit like that. Then again, is 250k-ish views on that site popular? Just to clear I do not know.

Of course, I also don't know this woman, and these are only some theories based upon, like, how things seem to work. I've never truly engaged with Webtoon because like, I already read this comic 90 times. And certainly my initial reaction was "why would you read this week-by-week on Webtoon when the entire comic is totally free right now both here and here?" So maybe there is something about the community reading experience, week by week at a regular pace, that is appealing to readers. I never got that experience; I lived through a maddening yearslong cycle of anticipation and regret. But maybe this steady year or two of posting will be healthier for whoever is reading it there.

Oh, hello. Wednesday, huh? Thanks for the tag @artsyunderstudy !!

SO this week I have been doing MANY THINGS including many fannish things. Including things in several fandoms. Me earlier this year: I truly cannot handle having more than one thing on the go. Me now: Yes, maybe I do have six active writing projects in three different fandoms as well as four podfics on the go. WHAT OF IT!?

I've finished recording all of my podfics, and I'm editing them now and... well, it's hard. One is edited, one is 1/8th edited, and the other two are freefloating audio. But, uh, yeah, here's some audio. Because. I... well, you'll get it.

Yes, I titled this file TENDER because I just, it's... yeah. I'm not totally sure whether I'm allowed to say who/what I'm podficcing... (@caught-on-tape-fest can you advise?) But, anyway, probably someone will get it based on that snippet.

Here, also, is a little, silly segment of my OMGCP fic, the Holsom Timeloop, featuring an OC who, let me just say, I gave excellent breasts, and zero flaws. I will accept no critiques:

He bumps into someone as he turns, attempts to keep anyone from falling with one hand in the steadying region of what should be a shoulder but turns out to be a truly exceptional handful of cleavage.  "Shit, I'm so sorry," he says, taking a half-step back and looking at the woman he just groped.  There's a lovely flush on her olive cheeks, and her hair is a cloud of beautiful, wild curls.  Marjorie. She's in his o-chem class and she's cute. She's been cute all semester. And smart. And funny. Though her typical cozy-sweater-and-jeans look in class does not betray how truly magnificent her tits are. They're propped up by some kind of bra magic in defiance of gravity, and barely contained by the blue-green fabric of her shirt.  She laughs. "You're forgiven. Though by the transitive property, you definitely owe me a drink."

Toaster got his name because he eats toast all the time. If you see him in the nook, you're basically guaranteed to see him with some toast covered in butter, cinnamon sugar, and honey.

He immigrated from Latin America, but for the life of him, Guy couldn't remember where exactly it was he came from. He wasn't paying attention when he was introduced; he was busy making sure the babysitter got his son settled in the hospital after an allergic reaction to some guacamole, and had been on his way out of the locker room to meet them there.

Guy did know his name is Leo Cortez, though.

The other man quickly wormed his way into Guy's heart, though, with offering food to whoever asked, and he brought some arepas in, and made Guy try it, and ok, he was mad his father never learned how to make them from his abuela, instead letting his mom make all the weird French food she liked*.

The day Toaster learned Guy spoke Spanish was hilarious, and it was funnier when he learned it was Guy's first language.

"You're from France??"

"My mom was from France, I was born in Mexico, actually."

The look on Toaster's face was worth Marty chirping him for being French (especially since Toaster and Guy both started speaking Spanish and let the Canadian be confused).

It wasn't until a year later that Toaster kissed him at the fourth of July party Thirdy was holding in his backyard, and Guy kissed him back, surprising the other man.

The kiss was worth paying the fine, if only because Vince was excited that his dad finally had a boyfriend.

*Guy is half Mexican, half French, and while he looks more like his mom, he grew up in Mexico, speaking Spanish as his primary language, and French as his second language. English is his third language.

Idk an au idea for Guy's boyfriend. I'm not settled on Toaster's first name, but I always flipflop in shipping Guy with either Scraps or Toaster (or Carly, the dickhead from the Aces tbh) and I just wanted to do something to share Toaster properly.

I might do a long fic with Guy and Toaster though.

And yes I made Guy half Mexican, half French, because it seemed interesting to me and I enjoy chaos. I am neither heritage though but I do my best to do my goddamn proper research when doing things like this.
