The time has finally come, the moment we've all been waiting for, Chapter 126 is finally here and judging from how last chapter ended as well as the cover card and after months of speculation, it looks like it's finally time to see yashiro travel back in time and if ya know anything about me then you'd know exactly how excited i am for this ^^ Tbh this is probably the longest chapter I ever had to read for this series, with this mf having over 39 pages worth of this shit like wtf did aida cook to have this many pages, either way im excited to see where this chapter goes anyway without further ado let's get into chapter 126

AHHHHHH I HATE HIM, if you effing even THINK about doing anything to her i swear i will make you the most HATED character in this series besides teru

Question about A Walk in the Woods: What's been the hardest scene to write so far? And the part you really looked forward to writing?
Ooooooh! Good question. With a multipart answer.
The hardest scene (emotionally, for me) I’ve written so far is one that’s way off toward the end. That’s also one of the two scenes I’m looking most forward to actually getting to, because it’s going to be one hell of a challenge to get from where we are “now” to where we need to be “then,” and I really want to see if I’m going to be able to pull it off.
The scene that’s taken the longest to write so far was the fight scene. I wrote the first draft way back in June, and between that draft and the final version that went up in August (I think? Or was it September ... whenever it was ...), I think I spent at least 8 hours on it, researching, rewriting, editing, tweaking, playing, rewording. It’s the first actual fight scene I’ve ever written, and now I know why I’ve never written one before. :D
The scene that was the hardest to get the characters to cooperate on was the first aid scene from Chapter Six. In my first draft, Johnny wasn’t nearly freaked out enough, Daniel was ridiculously calm about the whole thing, and they were both way more interested in bantering and teasing each other than they were in what was going on. To paraphrase one beta’s reaction to the original: “So, Daniel’s bleeding to death, and they’re just having a nice little chat like they’re on a picnic.” It took me forever to get them at least closer to an appropriate level of OMGWTF!
The other scene I’m looking really, really forward to getting finished and posting up is the first section of Chapter Seven. It’s going to be tense, and emotional (for both of them), but also have its funny moments, and painful moments, and some squicky medical stuff that might make some people cringe (in either revulsion or sympathy ... possibly both). Again, it’s all down to whether or not I can pull it off. But that’s what I’m hoping for.
Thank you for the question! Now I’m thinking I might go home after the Halloween parade tonight and get some writing done. :)

why I like zaShunina even more and other thoughts
I have a lot of perhaps disjointed feelings about the last 2 episodes.
First of all, I wasn’t really surprised with the reveal about zaShunina. I had a bit of a terrible feeling about the alien from the moment it was revealed he fucked with Shindou’s brain...how many episodes ago? It’s been a while, but I used to mainline science-fiction, and my favourite genre was first-contact, so I know the genre enough to figure out this was going to come to a clash in values. zaShunina isn’t human, it’s ridiculous to expect he’d act that way, or have the same values as we do in humanity so I knew it was going to lead to a bad moment for Shindou is some way, because Shindou was putting too much faith in Alien-chan.
So I wasn’t surprised when we found out that there was a catch, so to speak. But I was actually pleased with the details of why and I was blown away with the reveal with Saraka. I always complain to a friend about how anime (95 per cent of the time) isn’t subtle with foreshadowing, that we get hit over the head with anvils most of the time with so-called ‘plot twists’ - but I didn’t see Saraka’s reveal coming and I enjoyed every part of it. That was a sweet sweet reveal.
You see, I know this is a bit of a contentious position, but all through episode 8 I was Saraka, all her concerns, all her worries, all her arguments were mine as well. I think the energy offer was great to an extent (although I was worried about the inevitable crash of the economy), but I had a queasy feeling when zaShunina was messing with the human brain. And I kind of was angry that they decided to broadcast this without really giving people a complete understanding of what this would do to their brain, and the thing is, there was no way for the Prime Minister, or anyone to know what this would do to the human brain, that there would be negative side-effects with some. And all because some alien said it would advance humanity? You got to believe if I was a member of the community who was privy to the scant (even more scant than someone like Shindou has) information about alien-chan, I’d not be watching that broadcast, I’d be team ‘OMGWTF are you guys fucking insane’ because I’m a cautious person, I’m not reckless. I do not trust easily. You know in ‘Independence Day’ (which is a shitty propaganda film), anyway, in that film I’d not be the person holding up welcome signs like some idealistic hippy on top of a building before getting blown away. Not because I’d think the aliens would be violent (because Independence Day is a fucking shitty film, go watch Arrival instead), but because of a clash of values that could lead to bad outcomes for humanity. But I digress...
I think the last episode makes zaShunina much more interesting, and I like him much much more, because I think his yandere moment, and it was possessive, and controlling, and all those bad abusive things, was because he was becoming human. But he’s only been tackling these emotions for what, a month? Not long, he’s this super perfect information/computer machine, good at processing knowledge, but this is the first time he’s had emotions, he’s basically got the emotional maturity of a toddler. And you know toddlers aren’t good with knowing boundaries, or self-control, toddlers want what they want and if they don’t get it, then it’s tears and tantrums and you don’t want a super being to have the equivalent of that. He can’t reason with Shindou, so Shindou broken, so, he throws away his toy and gets another one. zaShunina doesn’t have the capacity to negotiate further, to argue, to persuade Shindou, it’s really sad because zaShunina wants Shindou, he just doesn’t understand what that means, and how relationships work. zaShunina isn’t a monster, he’s not evil, he needs to grow, he needs to emotionally mature and understand humanity. And I think if Shindou survives this, then zaShunina will grow. Well, I hope, I’d be pissed if Saraka destroys him. zaShunina is a lonely God whose essentially a child. He’s new to humanity. And I love him even more.
And finally Saraka, who was me in episode 8. When you think of all that’s she’s seen of humanity in the last millennia - she’s probably had herself born and reborn to live as a human so many times. No wonder she’s so protective. Saraka has, as they say ‘gone native’ she identifies with humanity more than zaShunina could, and more than any human could. Humanity is her baby. Her reaction is so realistic to me. Of course she doesn’t want zaShunina who is fucking out of control coming in and messing with her children.
Anyway, now I’m just rambling. But so far I’m loving this. It could still go wrong, but this has been a fun anime for me. (even if some of the science goes whoosh over my head).

Dear Netflix,
There was a time that I would scroll past your seemingly generic content, weak and pathetic next to the “real” movies and TV shows that you would house for a short period of time. Then came the time when I would turn to your content for a light-hearted drama with a YA feel-good ending, or a hilarious sitcom like Grace and Frankie. That time is no more. Yes, of course that content still exists for you, I hear you in the back. But Netflix, as you grow and expand, you better yourself. Over just the last two years, your own content makes up almost half of your entire library altogether. And it makes up almost half the reasons I’m sitting on my couch right now, writing you this letter as I watch Arthur lose his fucking mind in Peaky Blinders.Well, would you look at that! Your content is actually way more than half the reason why I’m writing this. You have evolved into quite the storyteller, but you have something that those “real” movies don’t usually boast, which is the gritty, heart-wrenching, and very uncomfortable truths to so many situations that people are facing in real life. I only believe that one movie on this list was not cleverly crafted by you and that was Honey Trap, but you had it in your library and I watched it so I’m holding you responsible, because that one fucked me up for a couple of days and it was a true story, omgwtf. Then I watched Black Mirror, wtf. 13 Reasons Why, which could even lean towards that YA-y feel, which you know, it should because it basically was, but man you didn’t let that last long. I watched Beyond the Reasons, I get it. Kudos to you guys, for real, Kate Walsh, GIRL, YOU deserve every fucking award for your portrayal as a grief stricken mother, you did every real life victim justice, I promise. You achieved everything you went for, making those painful scenes extra long, unbearable, and painful to sit through. 13 Reasons Fucked me up, and that’s okay, it really made me think. And you know what? At 24, I’ve been struggling with suicidal thoughts for more than half of my own life, and that show REALLY triggered me, but then it made me realize how much I would HATE to leave my mother here, a half empty shell, with a constantly tear-drenched face behind my selfishness. But man, that show fucked me up. Then, I watched Burning Sands this morning, no warning, the description seemed pretty mild, I mean until after I watched it and then reread and realized I should have known to stay away. Netflix, you guys, you really know how to bring some real hard fucking truths to light. 13 Reasons Why is basically going to break the internet already, and people are saying that it’s the first time they have ever been exposed to “real” truth like that. Well, I say you need to start watching some other Netflix original content, and fast. You want hard, gritty truth? Start with my little list here of shit that has completely fucked me up or at least shook me to tears. And don’t laugh at me because yes, Grace and Frankie is on this list but you wouldn’t know why if you haven’t watched the second season yet.
13 Reasons Why
Black Mirror
Burning Sands
Grace and Frankie
Honey Trap
Peaky Blinders
Stranger Things

Leadership Styles and Law (”Law is an INTP” revisited)
Haha what this is a Croco blog, why am I talking about Law after months of silence.
To be honest? Because this past year of developments in the manga has left me feeling REALLY vindicated about my reads on characters again. I am terrible at predicting Oda, but my track record at interpreting and analyzing his subtext ain’t too shabby. My read on Sanji, frex. Also, I actually REALLY regret not talking about Viola in depth before now – I mentioned her in passing in at least one post I published, but really regret relegating my thoughts on her relationship with Doffy to “ah this is crack I’m reading too much into this and no one cares anyway right?” Because one recent SBS more or less confirmed what I’d been thinking about there – and why I found her character very very fascinating in context, despite her being fairly low on my list of “characters I like”. Maybe I should still put together a writeup on that at some point.
But I digress.
Just as this past Year of Sanji has more or less borne out my thoughts on Sanji (despite his intelligence, spy hijinks, and capacity for trickery, he is not a calculating rational type of person as some people kept insisting, but a Myers-Briggs Feeling type who deeply values interpersonal relationships above all else, for better or for worse)... towards the end of Zou there was one particular chapter that made me feel SUPER pleased about my read on Law.
Specifically, my opinion that he is an INTP, despite the fact that he doesn’t fit into any of the cliched, stereotypical images of INTPs. (And the fact that I saw a fair amount of people complaining about the apparent inconsistency between his pre-timeskip personality vs. his post-timeskip personality.)
I wrote about that in this post: http://anonymouscrocodilefan.tumblr.com/post/135651487781/one-piece-mbti-allies-introverted
Mainly in that post I talked in generalities about his relationships and his plotting style and how they related to the cognitive functions (read up on them if you’re not sure what I’m talking about, but the four abbreviated letters aren’t just binary labels).
Chapter 819 though, made me giggle so much, because Law’s behavior through that entire sequence (throughout all of Zou, really) is basically THE ultimate giveaway of his INTP-ness.
Disclaimer: As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’m an INTP myself (if it wasn’t already obvious from all my tl;dr analysis). Whether this fact biases me towards or against this interpretation of Law is up to you – but I will add that I originally only grew confident in my assessment after we saw our first glimpse in text of child!Law.
Preliminary note: throughout the Zou arc, Law very noticeably retreated into the background. He was off-screened for many chapters (for good reason). But hilariously, even when he was ON screen... he was often deliberately blocked out by word bubbles or just a silhouette in the distance. This despite the fact that he is technically the other major leader of the alliance...
Guess what? INTPs hate to lead. We’ll do it if we have to and depending on the individual we might even do a decent job of it. (Yes, introverts can hold leadership positions.) But we’d rather not, all in all. So was I surprised at Law backing off? Nope, not at all. In fact, I’d expected it. (And it’s not like hiding/fading isn’t “normal” behavior for him – he owns a submarine, ya know.)
1. What Law is most definitely NOT:
- an ISTJ. He’s contrasted directly with Drake in his own flashbacks, even. If he were a dutiful ISTJ sort who believed in the system despite everything he’d gone through, Law would’ve been in the perfect position to join the Marines the way Drake did. I mean, kid wasn’t stupid. He knew who Cora really was. He let Cora lie to him because he wanted to believe in the lie, but he clearly wasn’t fooled.
More importantly, an ISTJ leader (they’re one of the more common introvert leader types due to their dutiful nature) tends to be more anchored by a strong sense of responsibility. No ISTJ leader would have EVER run off to pursue their own personal agenda the way Law did (it’s even made explicit that Law never expected to see his crew again). And it’s not like Law doesn’t care, doesn’t love his crew – he very clearly does. But he simply doesn’t feel that sort of obligation toward them. Hell, he can’t even be bothered to introduce them properly. XD
In fact, we need look no further than Jinbe for a classic ISTJ leader, torn between his various conflicting duties and obligations and his own personal desires. Completely different from Law.
- an INTJ. An INTJ is characterized by meticulous long-term planning – which I have already pointed out in the previous post, doesn’t actually characterize Law and his ability to be spontaneous, as well as the specific ways his plans fall short.
Again, it’s also interesting to consider leadership styles. I do believe INTJs & INTPs are closer in that regard (most of us aren’t interested in being “leaders”, but INTJs are more likely to have ambitions that involve being thrust into such positions), but perhaps the best point of comparison is INTJ Croco.
Because you know what more “developed” and/or ambitious INTJs are good at that INTPs definitely aren’t? PR. XD
Croco played up that heroic public persona of his for more than twenty fucking years. And is obviously a man very much concerned with keeping up appearances, even during a fucking prison escape of all things XD. Law? Law has a TERRIBLE public rep, what with his coldblooded heart-swapping and whatnot. He doesn’t care what the public thinks, he doesn’t think it matters (from his experience, it’s all a lie anyway). He doesn’t consider that public perception can be used as a weapon – or rather, he definitely does, but I don’t think he understood the full extent of it. See also: everything he tried to pull off wrt Doflamingo (his goal had not been so much undermining Doffy’s “public” reputation, but Doffy’s position in the underworld – had he taken the former into account, I think he would have perhaps not been so blindsided by what ended up happening).
And then there’s Marineford to consider: time and time again Croco decides to step up to the plate – towards the end, he even briefly takes on the mantle of leadership when all the WB pirates are despairing. INTJs definitely have more of an assertive tendency (compared to INTPs). Law? Even then he was a “wait and see” sort of person. He’s explicitly the one Supernova who delays entry into the New World – a pretty INTP thing to do, btw. We’re perfectly capable of being risktakers and making spur of the moment decisions, but ultimately, passivity (out of a desire to keep gathering more info) is more likely to be our downfall.
- an ISTP: If an INTJ is characterized by too much plotting, I guess it’s arguable that an ISTP is characterized by too little. XD (Zoro is the classic example: ACT FIRST THINK LATER.)
ISTP leaders though... ISTPs are again actually fairly close to INTPs – lone wolf tendencies mean that you rarely actually see them in true leadership positions, although they’re capable of it (Zoro). IMO the main difference though is that an ISTP will tend to lead by example and decisive action. An INTP has ideas about what should be done but isn’t going to go out of their way to make sure those ideas are enforced. See again the same scene I referenced when discussing ISTJs. XD
(Note that he doesn’t actually explicitly forbid them from introducing themselves. XD)
2. Seriously though, having achieved his major life goal, post-Dressrosa Law doesn’t really care that much about leading. He’s perfectly content to cede control to Luffy... and even to Zoro. He speaks up only to clarify what he’ll personally do/contribute to the task at hand or to ask about things he’s interested in (even then he doesn’t always ask, we sometimes see panels where he’s just reacting silently), never to suggest a course of action (it even takes outside prompting for him to remember that he has Bepo’s Vivre Card... yep, that’s an INTP derp moment all right – it’s not that we don’t care, it’s just that our brains don’t prioritize like that).
This is to the extent that he’s even blatantly shocked when Kin’emon includes him in his request for alliance in Chapter 819:
(Who, me?!)
Hahaha, I hadn’t even noticed that on my first readthrough, but when I later went back to read the chapter I found it hilarious (yeah, I know, it’s not THAT funny, fairly normal/subdued reaction, even Luffy had a bit of a surprised look, but still – this IS Law’s freakout face, he has pretty much the exact same expression in the previous chapter when the big reveal about the Kouzuki relationship to poneglyphs* is made and everyone else’s jaw is dropping, and a similar expression when he hears about Kaidou’s direct involvement with Momo & co, and an earlier omgwtf face when Raizou shows off his ninja techs...). I mean, it’s kind of a given that Law should be addressed for a major decision like this as well, but it’s like Law expects everything to just go through Luffy from now on... XD
* For the record, I wonder what else Law knows that he’s not telling anyone. He reacted suspiciously to two things that I recall during this arc: Momo’s ability to hear the voice (chapter 817) and to the poneglyph info... after Dressrosa it had seemed that his knowledge of “D” came solely from Corazon (disappointing everyone still waiting on his pre-timeskip quote to bear fruit), but we’ve been getting hints again that he actually has picked up some more info on his own since then.
3. But wait, you say. Doesn’t Law complain about this exact issue immediately after that???
[… After pretty much everyone else has already agreed to the deal.]
(Some other translations made it more explicit; this one is closer to the more subtle needling of the original text, but the implication given the context is that he’s grouchy over Luffy not bothering to consult him regarding major decisions, like, ever [i.e. “He cares more about an eight-year-old’s opinion than about mine!111”].)
Well, yeah. But see, it’s a semantics thing. XD A matter of principle. And trust me, for INTPs, semantics is Serious Business. Even Kin’emon took the time to acknowledge Law’s ostensible position. Luffy though... Law is WELL aware by now what Luffy’s idea of an “alliance” means, and he still does not approve. XD
That’s what he’s all pissy about. The fact that Luffy just assumes everyone is buddy-buddy and will therefore just go along with everything without question. (“That’s not the way this works!”)
(Luffy’s not wrong though. If Law really had a problem with it, he could have and no doubt would have spoken up much earlier. XD Luffy just instinctively has a good read on Law’s personality, LOL.)
As further proof, just a few pages later we have this:
Yep. Semantics. XD
Does it really bother him that he’s getting no say in any of this? Nah. As long as there’s some sort of plan going on and it’s not completely absurd (… not always a guarantee with Luffy involved), he doesn’t really care. He’ll do his part (while holding his cards close to his chest), and trust that the others will do theirs. Very hands-off, very self-contained. Very much an INTP approach to leadership.
Even so: there’s a difference between alliance and friendship, and IT MATTERS. XD

FMK, Difficulty Level = OMGWTF™: Kylo, Maul, Thrawn ;)
Whaaaaaat?! Why would you put me in this position? Choosing between my boys, dafuq do I look like?! xD
Erm, okay, right, I think I have this thought through…
Fuck: Thrawn - I did want to put him down for marry but… there’s also reasons why he makes a good one night stand. I mean, I headcanon him as a right player, he would not be committed. So, yup, fuck Thrawn… post-a discussion on art.
Marry: Maul! We have similar traits, I relate to him, and we’d protect each other. What more could you want in a loving and devoted marriage amirite? Plus we’d stay in and watch action movies all day and he would probably let me play with his horns… that sounds really strange.
Kill: Kylo, I am so fucking sorry, I love you but apparently aliens win my heart! But I would want to run my fingers through that gorgeous hair™

Starting from basics Both just hanging out with Maru and not pushing him to make a choice, so he becomes more comfortable with them Ho complains Maru does have crushes on them, so why is it so hard for him to just accept their feelings? He thought Maru would be happy instead of panicking and being so against it It's like he doesn't know how to return their feelings Maru says that is totally two different things He has crushes on them because Ho is very fun to be around, a more approachable nice big bro, and Choi is cool and a great cook and nice too, but there is absolutely no reason for them to like him back Choi said he is cute, hard working, nice to be around Maru said he isn't cute, he's been slacking on his studies, and no he isn't even nice to be around Ho said yes to all three, he will convince Maru of that he deserves to be loved Slowly hanging around, Maru is more ok if they interact as usual, but if they try to get closer to him he gets very defensive Because he doesn't know how to react Ho lol if Choi gets too near to you slap him Choi said if Ho makes him uncomfortable shoot him Maru sweatdrops and tries to stop the two from fighting, thinks about the korean dramas where the party committing adultery never has goid endings One day he might get stabbed to death or anything Ho comforts him saying he doesn't even dare to like someone back, there is no way he'd commit adultery Choi said he will make Maru fall in love so hard he won't have eyes for anyone else Maru complained weakly he is already very much in love, which Choi flashed a victory sign Ho said that isn't fair because Maru likes them but they aren't allowed to like Maru back for some reason? Maru finally agreed to go on a date with them, but he is very nervous Nearly runs off multiple times when Ho and Choi got too "datey" for him But like in much bliss Ho thoerised that Maru wants to be loved, but is so afraid to be abandoned he convinced himself there is nothing about him that is likable so if no one likes him, his heart wont be broken Which might be why he is so afraid to accept their feelings Went to ask Mu Yeung what he know about the chick Mu Yeung -_- more like I want to ask you what are you two doing to Maru Ho: dating *sparkles* Mu Yeung sweatdrop Told him not to play with Maru's heart, or else Ho: yes dad Got shot ############### One day the restaurant had this maid + butler theme, Maru somehow bullied into helping out Almost crying when he is forced to wear a maid outfit Felt extremely embarrassed omg almost dying Why is the skirt so short Why is it so airy on the legs Etc Choi strange look on his face, picked him up and threw him back into the changing room Told him if he is uncomfortable, then change out While internally he is holy shit that was hot And while picking Maru up and carrying him to the changing room, he got a good feel of those thighs and even more omg Maru came out all changed, very grateful for the help, but slowly walked away seeing the look on Choi's face Ho got a good picture of dem thighs plus red boxers flashing when Choi carried him, sold them to Choi for free meals ################ both hung out in Maru’s apartment when free, before Maru returned, Choi pointed out Maru’s getting more used to them Getting a lot less guarded against them, which is a good thing for them ^___^ Maru returning home overheard, immediately more guarded stayed outside to eavesdrop Choi said just that day he saw Maru returning to his room after bathing bare chested and only wearing his boxers It was a nice view Ho boasted he managed to have a good grope on Maru’s butt when they were kissing Maru pulled into the apartment by Shade went omgwtf!?!?! Ho pulled Maru close to kiss him, Choi retrieved Maru from his arms, saying he wants to grope Maru’s butt too Maru BSOD Ho snapped saying he’s sick of having to share Maru with Choi, he wants Maru just for himself, Choi hands off his boyfriend Choi said Maru is his, Ho should back off instead Maru thinks this is just a dream since no way two hot guys will fight over him, but when one gunshot zoomed past him, and hit the wall, he summoned his guns too and demanded the two idiots duke it out outside his apartment or else The two sheepishly apologised, Maru made them repair/ pay for anything they broke Though he is soon horrified at what he had done and is so mortified he hid at a corner not daring to make any sounds Choi tried to coax him out with food, kissing him as he pulled him up Said the more time he spends with Maru, the more he just wants Maru to himself, not to share him with anyone else He doesn’t like Ho touching or kissing his Maru Ho just wrapped his arms around Maru saying he doesn’t like it when Choi does that either, he is only putting up with Choi having his way with his boyfriend because Maru couldn’t make a choice Maru say they should just dump him instead and leave him to rot, it will be the best for all of them Both outright rejected, saying sharing Maru is not ideal, but better than giving up on Maru Still, it would be better if the other lets go first Maru omg you can do whatever you want to me but please dont destroy my home again- no wait that came out so wrong Both grinned at him saying he can’t take that back ################ Chatting one day, Maru very admiring about Ignatio and Mu Yeung’s super sight Ho said it actually isn’t that fun at the start to see everything so clearly but he’s used to it, and it helps him see all of Maru so clearly ; ) Choi covers Maru protectively while Maru pales not really wanting to know what Ho can see Choi said Maru’s enhanced hearing is good too but Maru sighed and said other than information gathering it really isn’t that good He grew up overhearing all kinds of bad stuff about himself, which he eventually learnt to ignore Laughs hollowly and says looking back it wasn’t really that bad as it sounds, but Ho pointed out growing up like that might be why his self confidence level is crap If he had to grow up hearing constantly how horrible a person he is, having that ingrained in him since young, no wonder he felt there was nothing worthy about himself to be loved Maru said at least he’s a useful person, he helps Mu Yeung to gather information, at least even if he isn’t anything good, he is useful, but... He said weakly he’s trying his best to study, to accomplish at least something in his life, which he hadn’t been doing much with Ho and Choi distracting him so much every day... Got even more depressed Choi went “...”, and well, at least they managed to identify where Maru’s issues came from, though he has no idea how to fix that Doesn’t think it is something they can fix overnight or within days or weeks or months or even years Ho doesn’t even know if it can be fixed, very worried about Maru Maru repeated they should just give up on him, Ho cuts him off with a kiss, Choi followed after that Complained having to taste Ho while kissing his boyfriend Ho: you think i like it either?! I have to put up with you trying to seduce my boyfriend constantly?! Choi: he’s mine Maru: squeak...
